Just say small town romance, single dad, found family, and I'm so down for it. I'm a sucker for country music, so I loved this book's vibes.
Violet was so colorful, brave, strong-willed, with a fragile heart, in search of peace, a simple life, calm, and a fresh start. She was so endearing that it was impossible not to love her.
I love discovering each of Walker layers, getting to know the discreet and amazing dad who seeks peace for his kid, followed by the grumpy man who longs for a crumb of attention from Violet, then the kind and generous man who would do anything to keep the people he loves and his family safe and sound.
Even though I found that some aspects of their relationship progressed too quickly, I really liked all the moments spent with them writing songs and watching them falling in love with music again, the slow reveals of their most private secrets, the side characters who brought so much sweetness, laughter, and lightness, making it all very addictive. I can't wait to read the next book.
