As the certified goth girl on campus, I'm used to being an outcast. No one understands me, and that's okay. Life is simple, if not a little lonely.

This book hooked me from the very first page—I could not put it down! The cast is full of unhinged, slightly (okay, more than slightly) off-the-rails characters, but somehow they’re still so easy to love. Mercy ends up in a wild predicament after literally tripping over a dead body, which throws her straight into a dangerous “game.” Luckily, she has her best friend Sam by her side—he’d do absolutely anything for her, even risk himself by joining the game too.
The rules are simple: follow them and win. But of course, nothing is ever that simple. The real question is, who’s going to come out on top? And seriously—how hard can it be for Mercy to not fall for the psycho bad boys… right? (I mean, come on, they’re killers!)
I’m already itching to dive into the next book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Plot: 3/5 • Smut: 2.5/5 ————-> This started off good. I loved the first three chapters. However, it fizzled for me very quickly and was a forced finish. I liked the all the male characters, but didn’t like our FMC. 🤷🏻♀️ Ya win some, ya lose some.

I was hooked from the first sentence - Begging for Mercy starts with a literal bang. A man who’s all painted up, is an artist, and loves to fuck? Hell yes, please and thank you. This book has the perfect mix of the bad boy, the broody one, and the good guy.
The setting makes this the perfect fall read. The first scene takes place in a graveyard on Halloween night, need I say more?
I’d love to hear more about the FMC’s mother, hopefully the second book delves into that a bit more. I wish there was a little more spice, but since there’s a deal made between the MMFM with certain stipulations I understand that wouldn’t really be possible.
Overall, I loved the vibe and enjoyed the pacing making it an easy read.

⭐️ ARC Review – Begging for Mercy by Misti Wilds
It’s been years since I’ve dipped my toes into a reverse harem and by god this book reminded me why I love them. The tension. The hunger. The need. I felt every single moment.
We start with Mercy and the Reaper dark dangerous and intoxicating then Zane and Sam crash into the story. And no, don’t ask me to pick a favorite. Just like Mercy I want all of them.
Mercy is raw, real, and heartbreakingly relatable. Her feelings of being unwanted and ugly cut deep and it made every tender brutal and possessive moment from the men hit harder. Each of them yearns for her in their own way fighting demons both inside and out.
Some of my favorite moments:
“If I get you to fuck me, then I get to kill you.” – Zane, chaotic perfection
“Hey, Sam. Don’t worry about picking up our girl. I’ll take it from here.” – Sam, possessive king energy
“You’re so pathetic that even your best friend won’t sleep with you…” – Mercy, breaking me into a million pieces
“Who gets to kiss me. Who gets to fuck me. Who gets to kill me.” – enough said
This book had me screaming, clutching my Kindle, and muttering “one more chapter” until I was too far gone to stop. If you love tension that coils like a spring, men who love differently but fiercely, and a FMC who claws her way through her own insecurities, Begging for Mercy will consume you.

The way I keep hitting the next button on my kindle to hopefully find part two magically appear so I can continue on!
These men are absolute psychos that I’m so in love with. Each relationship is so different yet so similar. Zane & Kane, I hope we find out more from their past and how they got to where they are today! Them together is delicious. Mercy & Sam the friends forever but never wanting to cross that line. Girl I’m begging for that line to be completely erased.
The double date! Speechless! I love Kane’s idea, and I’m hoping to see more of it in part two! I’m also very intrigued to see how the relationship between Zane & Mercy develop.
Mercy is so strong and she also breaks my heart. She’s clearly gone through a lot growing up. And I still feel like we are going to learn so much about her too.
That ending though! “I’m at your mercy, baby, but please don’t go easy on me.”

Very different and intriguing plot.
I didn’t know what to expect from this new type of genre from Misti and it was certainly interesting!
Mercy our FMC is the quit quirky girl who has more affinity with grief and death than the living giving her a naivety and curiosity that may just kill this kitten 😮 she stumbles across something she shouldn’t which leads her to an encounter with the famous Reaper and his best friend - night she won’t forget as it leads to a deal for her life…if she can make one of them fall in love with her 😅 Reaper is a notorious manhore with his charm and tenacity, trying to live life to its fullest whereas his foster brother/partner Zane is broody, withdrawn and apathetic 🙈 Mercy is definitely not prepared for their stalkerish obsessive ways and ways they are wiling to chip away at her innocence 😉 thankfully her best friend Sam has we asked his way into the deal…however it’s clear he wants more from Mercy and isn’t as wholly clean cut as he portrays but he will do anything for this girl 🥰 the deal is becoming more and more complex with win conditions added in 😅 and that might just be the undoing in the end…
I did struggle to get into this to start with it was a skittle slow for me and wasn’t wholly sure whether it would be PNE or contemp but it did pick up around 1/3 way through and will definitely be reading the next one to see how their deal and relationship pan out 😄

Am i the only one who felt bad for Sam? I feel like all he did was give and give and Mercy just kept taking that's not how this should work. I love RH books but this one just didn't sit well with me, Mercy just did whatever she wanted not taking his feelings into account. I don't know if i read a different book from everyone else or what but i just feel like Sam deserves more.

I was absolutely gripped from start to finish and I’ll be waiting very (im)patiently for book 2!
These are 4 very different types of people, and that’s what make the story so intriguing. We have Kane (Reaper) who has a very artistic way of living, in a very brutal and gruesome way.
“Imperfection, as he puts it, is part of the whole being human experience. We aren’t meant to create flawless works of art. We’re only meant to live in these imperfect moments and somehow be happy about it.”
The loyal best friend Sam, who has hearts in his eyes whenever he looks at Mercy, so clearly taken by her beauty and soul.
“I don’t want to know what life is like without you.”
“I love you, Mercy. No matter what you think about yourself, know that I think the world of you.”
Zane, his friend and brother (not by blood), who has all his walls up, doesn’t trust anyone in this life but Kane.
And Mery, so shy and innocent, yet very curious and daring.
“Having company keeps the shadows from crawling out of their corners of the room.”
They’ve met under very bizarre (and unfortunate? Haha, at least for some of them) circumstances, which results in a game of life and death. My pulse flew at certain points, I laughed my ass off other times, and teared up other places. Such a fun ride!

Another book that has me SCREAMING INTO THE VOID OF CLIFFHANGERS!!!
Holy shit Misti Wilds 😱 This book is my vibe and for sure a little crazy!
Our FMC, Mercy, seems like a painfully shy girl who has few friends because of her family business and being dubbed "the dead girl" all her life. She is sweet but definitely has some issues...
Kane AKA 'the reaper' - Dark, twisty artist who likes to fuck and kill, and all he wants is Mercy.
Zane - Broody bestie/brother to Kane turned lover? He just wants Mercy dead and to have Kane all to himself.
Sam - The man who had been pining for Mercy for several years... He comes off as trying too hard to be a good guy and her hero.
This book had me twisted in knots for sure and I need to know what will happen next! Will Sam and Kane kill each other over Mercy's affections? Or will they finally fuck and explore their mutual obsession with Mercy?

I can’t wait for part 2 of this book . I think it will be amazing and we will see the connections between the characters more.
I love how Merch is unapologetically her self and she is searching and finding ways to explore herself and i love how the guys embrace that.
The story is weird in the beginning and i really don’t know how it will end but i am so excited to found out.

I slowly read this book as I received it as an arc and was reading it in between my other books! I really enjoyed it. I love the chapters as they’re all individual. The spice was spicing and the thrill was thrilling!! It was a bit of a slow burn for me tho, but it was probably because my latest smut reads have been straight to the point. lol. Highly recommend this book if you like gothic, VFMC, academia, unaliver, smutty dark romances! Super hot. But the cliffhanger tho. 😩

I can’t say enough about this book. It had me on the edge of my seat to see how it all would end. Each of these characters were their own person. Each of the characters have their own emotions and feelings to go through. I cannot say enough about how I did not know what to expect when I turned each page. I cannot wait to see what the next book will be.

Promising Story, But Struggled to Fully Deliver
Begging for Mercy had a premise that grabbed my attention and a few moments that really pulled me in, but overall, I struggled to stay immersed. The story follows one woman and three men, two who are ‘brothers’ (not by blood) and her best friend but the relationships felt underdeveloped, and key emotional connections, including the romantic/sexual bond between the two ‘brothers,’ appeared suddenly. The writing style, with fragmented sentences, heavy filler, and occasional confusing dialogue, slowed the pacing and pulled me out of the story. By the time the story picked up, it rushed to a cliffhanger, leaving me wanting more payoff. Not a bad book, but uneven pacing and lack of depth kept it from fully delivering for me. A lot of buildup to be left on a cliffhanger.

By the time the story picked up, it rushed to a cliffhanger, leaving me wanting more payoff. Not a bad book, but uneven pacing and lack of depth kept it from fully delivering for me. A lot of buildup to be left on a cliffhanger.

I am very honored that I got the chance to read this book. I instantly got hooked into the story, I love how each character is different and has their own unique personalities. The banter and tension between all of the these characters got me smiling and giggling like a little girl opening Christmas presents. The hot, dirty moments in this story got me on chokehold. Mercy is at the wrong place at the wrong time and catches Zane and Kane burying their recent kill.
She’s a broken girl, nicknamed “the dead girl” for her family business. To not kill her, she makes a deal with the brothers - fall in love with her by next Halloween.
Zane the serial killer with minimal emotions and Kane “reaper” the man around campus for having sex with everything that moves. After he found out, Mercy’s best friend and boy who has loved her for a year gets involved too.
It’s a love triangle that’s leaning towards why choose. Definitely ends on a cliffhanger that makes you scream out loud and check when the next book is coming out.
I’m curious if more things will come out in the next book, like Mercy and the time she heard the “other side” or the brothers pasts. Got to say though, mildly weird no one is caring about all the missing people in a small town or how they can do what they do in the open.
Overall, a great read. Definitely check the triggers if they bother you.

Uhhh YES sign me TF up. Give me the damn why choose. Slap me in the face with this. My lawwwddd I'll take reaper, Mr Zane (my favorrittteee-love me a lil broken man) and Sam anyday!! Obsessed with these characters. And there's definitely touch her and d*e moments, there's fighting over her, angst, trying not to fall, tension, someone that's loved her a while and those who hadn't yet, one that fell automatically upon meeting her, and one that's still tryna act like he's not falling, there is also MM action, d*ath threats, stalking, some morally gray men, men who would do anything for the FMC. Also the FMC I loved her, she's very strong, yet has her sensitive moments, she is also goth and stunning.
This book will have you by the throat over the four characters, mind you it is also multi-pov for the win.
If you're looking for a new darker read that's recently out this is it, look no further. Tho as I said above it IS a cliffhanger ending and the second book will start from this one. I gave this book a good 4.2⭐️ but l'm

Mercy is special: you can tell because she’s caught the interest of three men. Sam’s sole purpose in life is to keep her safe, he’s willing to be her friend while loving her. Reaper/Kane is a psychopath who calls her ‘Siren’: he’s mesmerized by her song first and then by her presence. Zane: what a contradiction! He’s Kane’s partner in life and love, he’s jealous of Mercy’s connection to Kane, but he can’t deny his attraction either.
Misti’s books always capture my attention: she brings out emotions from dark, twisted characters that make them human instead of just monsters! This book is no different: a beautifully horrific pair who are complex, a beautiful girl with her own scars, and a guy who’s following his father’s rules with secrets of his own. I love the pacing, seeing the relationships evolve, the steamy scenes are hot, and the atmosphere is perfectly dark!!

I went into this book completely blind. Had absolutely no idea what it was about, and oh my gosh I loved it. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book quite like it which makes me even more invested. The big bad m*rdery men are always the biggest softies in these books, and I am here for it. The men in this book might hate each other, but they all want to be loved and seen.
Mercy…… her innocence truly is her downfall in this story. And this downfall comes to bite them all at the end of book 1. I’m really excited for book 2, I want them all to get their happily ever after, even if it causes emotional damage to me.

Holy cow. Misti Wilds's Begging for Mercy engulfed me. What I got was far more than the dark romance I was anticipating. The emotional intensity is through the roof, the characters have depth and are memorable, and the atmosphere is electric. Even after finishing the story, I couldn't stop thinking about it, underlining sentences, and rereading portions. Mercy is the kind of heroine who leaves an impression. Unapologetically herself, she is fierce and vulnerable. The 3 men are chef's kiss. I found myself glued to the pages even after the sun went down, engrossed in the intricate web of relationships between her and the love interests. You should read this book if you enjoy mysterious dark romances with strong female protagonists that aren't afraid to be wild. The days till the next installment are quickly slipping away from me.

Obsessed with the setting of this book. The spooky, gothic, college, mortuary setting is everything.
Sweet mercy- I love her and i feel for her and what she’s been through. She has such witty responses and keeps all of the guys on their toes.
Kane is so much more complex than he appears to be on surface. I think the same goes for Zane too- I need to know more of his history.
Sam. I’m still unsure how I feel about him. He does things that annoy me but I think he means well? Idk. He needs growth.
I have some theories and I’m hoping I’m wrong about them because if I’m not I’m gonna be maaaaaaad in the next book. The cliffhanger is killing me 😩

I went in a little blind and still feel beautifully lost. This is a dark, obbsseessssseeeddd, bl00dy, academia, unaliver romance... and to be honest Im not sure who all of the 3 MMCs is the most "sane". It is a wild ride- and I think takes place at most over the course of a few weeks (although I could be wrong on that timeline). Im excited to read the next book to get some more clarity about what all darkness follows all these characters and where it is going to go from here!
