The Cosmic #2
Something is Coming
When reality itself calls, how far will you go to answer?
Just as Tomi Newton begins to understand the depth of her psychic abilities, she finds herself face-to-face with impossible truths. Aboard an alien craft, she reunites with her long-lost grandmother and the enigmatic Ete, a non-human guide whose wisdom transcends earthly understanding. Together with her friends, Tomi is thrust deeper into a cosmic mission that stretches beyond time, space, and her wildest imaginings.
As Tomi confronts visions of Earth’s fragile future, humanity’s forgotten past, and an urgent call to protect both, she realizes the stakes are higher than she ever imagined. In their search for answers, Tomi and her friends must navigate uncharted dimensions, reincarnated memories, and profound spiritual mysteries—ultimately facing the question: can they rewrite the fate of humankind?
Taking inspiration from ancient wisdom and modern mysteries, Something Is Coming is an enthralling journey that weaves together psychic phenomena, extraterrestrial insight, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Perfect for those who seek stories that transcend the ordinary, this second installment of The Cosmic Series will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about life, love, and the universe itself.
Your world may never feel the same again.

Something is Coming is the compelling sequel to An Investigation of Mars by CJ Dearlove. This installment seamlessly continues the journey, delving deeper into the mysteries of the universe and the potential roles its inhabitants may play in shaping our future. CJ Dearlove masterfully sustains the narrative with well-developed characters that readers genuinely care about. I eagerly await the conclusion of this remarkable series!

Fantastic second book in this Cosmic Series. Like the first book in this series this novel made me think about a lot of things happening in the world that can sometimes be too frightening to ponder. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

CJ Dearlove is a compelling writer with a rare gift: the ability to weave together layered narratives, populate them with complete and deeply individual characters, and build a world that feels both grounded and transcendent. In Something is Coming, the sequel to his first novel, Dearlove sharpens his voice and vision, creating what might best be described as a spiritual thriller; his approach to the metaphysical genre is unique, and the spiritual thriller seems to be something new that he's invented through The Cosmic Series.
These novels aren't your typical thriller. Yes, there’s mystery, travel, and the search for people and objects that echo the best of psychological thrillers. But Something is Coming is something more. It’s smarter, deeper. Dearlove elevates the genre by blending the personal with the philosophical, pulling in themes of ancestry, consciousness, government control, and how military intelligence may be interfering with the very evolution of humanity. It's a bold, timely book that asks us to sit with big questions about why the world feels so chaotic in 2025 - and whether we’re being kept from asking the right questions.
Tomi, the protagonist, continues her journey from the first novel, but this time her path moves beyond survival and deeper into self-understanding. With the guidance of her grandmother Esther, she begins to harness meditation and explore her place in the universe. Their relationship, as well as Tomi's connection with best friend Kristen, are a beautiful and grounding force throughout the book.
Without giving too much away, it’s clear that Dearlove is drawing from a lifetime of curiosity about the unknown: from Atlantis to UFOs to Bigfoot, and everything in between. What makes this book so satisfying is that it doesn’t sensationalize those mysteries: it contextualizes them, drawing on theory, history, and spiritual inquiry in a way that few metaphysical writers manage to do well.
This is a book for people who want more than just answers. It’s for those who are craving something complex, who feel the dissonance of our current moment and are ready to explore the deeper reasons why. I don’t know what will happen in the next installment, but I can’t wait to find out.
