Listening time: 13 hours 4 minutes

The flames of war are spreading across the expanse...

After a brazen rescue mission to the Citadel, the crew of the Trash Squid have rescued Captain Axel Finn. During their escape, a dying Admiral Jessup tells Axel he must lead the resistance, and that he must start it where his father made his last stand, on the mining world of Furia.

On the planet Runi, Sergeant Jax Brito returns to her family farm to find her father on his deathbed. After dealing with the thugs that put him there, her trip is cut short when a Clipper arrives with a message—the Citadel has been attacked and forces are gathering to take it back. With the threat of the Wrath burning closer, Jax heads out on a new mission. Unknown to her, the journey will take her somewhere no human has set foot.

Having survived capture on Dari, bounty hunter Rangnar Soki faces a new mission. The former galactic king of Wrath artifacts is tasked with locating alien technology that has killed everyone who went searching for it. If he can manage to survive, he might have a chance of helping defeat the enemy. But it will take more than ancient technology and weapons to destroy the Wrath. All species will have to unite to win this war, and only one warrior can rally them—the last Steward.

One Steward. Three Heroes. The Galaxy's Last Stand.

A fantastic and enthralling series!

I was glued from page one of book-1. Binge-read the whole trilogy and it was worth it. A truly amazing SciFi fantasy. It has it all: great world building, real life characters, a character driven story with incredible storytelling and a very interesting plot.

I highly recommend this series.

Good end to the series. Although is it the end? You just never know.

I have to say the necessary death of a primary character, a common plot device, as well as the death of the bad guy - both were anticlimactic. There was little justice in the one and some degree of necessity for the other (seemed kind of pointless).

This final book also brings the two separately narrated characters together, just like the previous book brought together two other characters. It was nice to have the storylines converge.

The narration was great so thank you Mark Boyett and Khristine Hvam. I think this series is more of Sanbury Smith that I can appreciate. Not quite so much blood and guts and a less complicated, extensive story.

The Last Lion (Galaxy In Flames Book 3) - Excellent!

I always appreciate it when I read a sequel book and have flashbacks to a previous book or books, in this case. The Last Lion (Galaxy In Flames Book 3) is one of those. Nicholas Sansbury Smith has written several series that have captured my imagination and emotions. His books are an excellent escape from reality. No detail is missed, including throwback references to prior books. I found myself pulled into events in earlier books with 'A-ha' moments. I could even remember where I was when I was reading it! OK, I get a bit obsessed when I get locked into a great story. Galaxy In Flames IS a great story. There are so many wonderful characters and places. These are books with heroes, villains, and amazing Sci-Fi adventures. As prior books, I highly recommend the excellent audible books performed by two of the best, the talented Mark Boyett and Khristine Hvam. You never have to stop the adventure whether you're driving or hiking with your dog (maybe that's just me). I will be waiting for the next adventure written by Nicholas Sansbury Smith!

Fun stuff

I liked this series. It was imaginative, sad, scary and funny. It even takes shots at dealing with prejudices but, from a race (alien race) perspective.
Would I read more from this series? Yes. I'd like to know what happened to the Wrath: IE who/what they really are, who created them, where they really came from and how they became what they are.
Follow up on that is needed.

Thank you

It’s been awhile since I read this, so before I place a detailed review, I would like to go back and read this series again.
But I can tell you right now, this was a wonderful series! I Loved it.
Nick has a “flair” for this genre and it SHINES in this series. Excitement galore from beginning to end, with some fabulously unique and colorful characters. Kinda reminiscent of Star Wars when thinking about the many different characters from Galaxy’s far, far away.
This is a great book for any age, as it’s not as “Blood & Guts” as a lot of Nicks books are, and he pulls it off Brilliantly I might add!
I’ll add more after I revisit the series.
Thank you

Galaxy in Flames Trilogy

Author Nicholas Sansbury Smith: My thanks to you for the "hours" of high octane reading. The blending of so many species was astounding and made for such thought provoking scenarios. A wonderful series which I highly recommend. It contains everything to keep a reader enthralled.

It all.comes together

I've been enjoying this new universe by NSS. The first two books did a great job of setting things up for the universe, characters, and villains. This book brought everything together. Making it the best book of the series. I hope NSS makes more books in the series.

The best of the series

While I enjoyed all the books, reading them one after another until I was bleary eyed, I feel the last was the best, as it should be. The action never slowed down until the very end. An after action report fi wrap it up and speak of new adventures the the Trash Squid.

Rag tag crew shows us who we are!

It is easy to find yourself in a dark place. The loved ones around up are not a liability, but the source of strength we call upon when we feel human and insecure in our ability to overcome adversity! Smack talking, back talking, but loveable indeed. Not the longest ride, but full of twist that you don't see coming, most of the time. Thanks!

action movie in a book

Though certain scenes seem borrowed from cartoons, popular movies and sci-fi books, still very entertaining. Very likeable primary characters. Would definitely enjoy more about Captain Axel Finn Kahr

Fantastic final book in the Galaxy In Flames series. I loved these characters! Their connections with each other and their chosen family are really special. I laughed frequently and felt their loses. I held my breath and shouted in relief.

It was a great ride!

Hero’s Win in the End

At times i struggled with the naive and immature hero, Alex, doing emotional and illogical things that always worked out in the end. However, i stock with the books and was glad that i did. i will read the next in the series.

Who is the next 🦁

A well thought out story with good characters that fit well together. The storyline flowed between all three books, which led to a good ending of this storyline. A few chapters on how stewards were created would be interesting 🤔

Best book series I read since red rising. It’s written a bit lighter and the books move at a very nice pace. All in all, great adventure for the mind.
