Look for her in the trees enjoying nature’s wonders, traveling to see the latest animal conservations, or at aquariums all around the world. This girl loves nature and all animals. She has many pets and is always adding new additions. The more the merrier in her mind. Sitting under the shade reading a book, letting the world around her pass by, while she is safe in her bubble of imagination. Well that is where she’d love to stay. She is a softball player, can be talked into the occasional Karaoke and loves going out to dance. She is a first generation Canadian living in Ontario. Her family is from Scotland, so finding her in the hot sun for very long is unlikely, but give her rain and thunderstorms and she’s golden.
Do not let the title fool because reading this, you will not be feeling like a lonely girl; it will leave you breathless with the many intense moments it has. Author Gracie Wilson made me feel like I was sitting on the edge of my seat from the beginning of the book, clear to the ending.
“Bec..ca” behind the door my brother whispers.
Becca Potts is a lonely and broken girl, with horrific memories of losing the love of her life, Michael to a horrific car accident; she thinks she was the cause of. When Michael died, Bec died as well; letting everybody know her name is Becca or Rebecca. She is left with the many reminders of him and the car crash, because of the nightmares she has every night. While everybody walks on eggshells around her; her brother Alec who was also Michael best friend is trying to get her to move on with her life .
“That was before us. You don’t get to leave me
and that wasn’t talking about
she said a trip, I am not that
drunk Becky.”
After Becca’s brother kept telling her that Michael would want her to be happy. She starts seeing Dillon because she knows there is no future, and being totally opposite of her former love; with muddy brown eyes, Jet black hair, and a horrid attitude. Alec wanting her to start over , he didn’t think she would choose the “ass hat” after the warnings he ‘ d given Becca about his reputation, he was happy when she decided to join him in college; but Dillon isn’t very happy because that is not what they planned.
“Hello Butterfly”
“You love me?
Becca I have been trying to tell you that
since I put you on a plane
to Europe. Then you left and you didn’t talk
to me much. I thought it
was one sided.”
Heading to college she has chosen to go to Lakeside, even though Becca had her doubts about going because it is where Michael, Alec, and her were going to go before the wreck. Lakeside is where she finds that she can love again, comforted by two of her brother’s hockey teammates. Rebecca falls hard for Keegan Keller, who is striking hot: with his just got out of bed, dirty blonde, shaggy hair, with is athletic build and crystal blue eyes. Jacob “Jake” Kelso being so beautiful “in a non girly way” and piercing hazel eyes becomes her best friend , and finds comfort sleeping by him every night because of the nightmares. But can a girl sleep by and have a best friend without growing feelings for him? Will Keegan find jealousy in all this? Is it Possible for a dirty love triangle? Was Michael so innocent when he was alive? are some of the twist and is some of the things you should ask yourself before you read “Lonely Girl” because I highly recommend it. I give this book 4 stars.
This is the first review I have ever done for a published book. With that said, please forgive me for being unsure of my wording.
This story is full of so much emotion. Everything from death and sorrow to love and acceptance and everything in between. Becca, an 18 year old university freshman, has suffered a devastating blow to the heart. She lives life just putting one step in front of the other. That is till she meets Keegan, a player and her brother's best friend during her tour of the university campus.
She finds herself instantly attracted to him, but doesn't believe the feeling is mutual. During a summer trip to Europe, she meets Jake, a man who will become her best friend and confidant. Slowly over time her feelings for both become confused and tested.
Throughout the whole book I kept asking myself if she would ever straighten out her confused emotions for both of these men. In the end, she makes her decision, but in the end there was a twist that had me crying out in pain for all three of them.
Becca is tested throughout the whole story with questions of love, loyalty and forgiveness. All of these questions help her grow from being a mindless drone watching the world move around her to a woman of extreme strength and independence without settling for what she doesn't feel in her heart.
The best line from the book to describe the book as a whole is "Can a heart that wasn't healed to begin with be this shattered?
Read this book and find the answer for yourself. I know my answer and stand by my statement of "this book will capture your heart from beginning to end."
ARC provided for an honest review The Lonely Girl is Gracie Wilson’s debut novel. Rebecca life has been shattered. After the death of her boyfriend, she is left to pick up the pieces and continue on with her life. With her brother off at college and her parents wanting her to move on, Becca start dating Dillion. With the end of her senior year approaching and her relationship with Dillion failing, Becca has a decision to make about her future. Preferring to live her life her way, Becca heads off to assist the University with her brother, Alec. A member of the hockey team, Alec, rooms with two of his teammates, Keegan and Jake. Even though, Alec, has warned his friends that his “little sister” is off limits, feelings evolve, a friendship is formed and a relationship blooms. When Becca feels that things in her life are getting on track, there is always something or someone to throw it off course. There are many twists and turns in Becca’s story. Life is not always a bed of roses or sugar coated. Gracie leaves nothing out of this story. She addresses real life issues that occur in many relationships. This is a gut wrenching, heartbreaking, emotional story. Now and again, you will fall in love with the characters, other you will love to hate. **Warning** There is a cliffhanger at the end. I will be waiting for the next chapter of Becca’s story.
I was lucky enough to Beta read this and was hooked on page one. I loved this book. The story will keep you from page one till the end then have you shaking your kindle and begging for more. Great job Gracie can't wait for book 2
Blurb: One night can change it all. One argument can leave you reeling. A look can take you to a place you can never return from again. What happens when one day, you wake up and find your world has been turned upside down? The person you love is gone. The life you thought you'd have is no longer one you see being able to get back to. You lost the one person you loved more than anything. They tell you to move on, try. For them. It’s what they would want. But is it really? So I try. This time, will be different. I slowly start to put the shattered pieces of my heart back together, only to have it broken again, by someone I thought I trusted. My heart's barely healed, my world just starting to make sense again, when tragedy and devastation strikes. My circumstances leave me asking one question… Is it worth the risk to love again?
Keep time free when you start this because its one of those books you won't be able to put down. Rebecca feels she has lost herself after an accident she was in robs her of her boyfriend & what she thought was going to be her future , worried about her her brother Alec finally convinces her to have a few days away at his school with & Becca unexpectedly finds a new lease of life after meeting his friends there even surprising herself by really liking two of them .I loved all the characters , Jake's my favourite by miles , i did like Keegan at first but i quickly changed my mind , got to say Becca does get on my nerves a bit crying & needing a man to prop her up but maybe if i'd gone through half the things that happen to her , loss & betrayal to name just a couple i'd crumble too . The worst thing is that just when she seems to finally sort herself out & find her feet tragedy hits her again , got to tell you there's one hell of a cliff hanger at the end that will make you beg for the next book .
Becca´s life is a lie. She is broken and lost. She lost his boyfriend, and she feels guilty. Ans she is about to learn a lot of things that might destroy her. She thought she has suffered enough, but it is never enough. She is with Dylon because he is the opposite to Michael, he is all possesive, he seems violent, but he has not hurt her, YET. She is not in love with him, she just feels like she deserves him, because she knows that bad things will happen with him. While being on the University she will meet new people, she will fall in love, and her life will become hell. She will be hurt, but she will hurt others at the same time. Becca will not always make the right decisions, maybe she will regret it later. She will be thinking, what if...? But now it is too late. A rollercoaster of events will haven, she si too damaged, and there are things that she can not handle. Jake is a good friend, he understands her, and he cares a lot (maybe too much) about her. Keenan is her brother´s best friend, will she fall in love with him? He will complicate her life, that is for sure. They are not ready to be in a relationship, it is too soon. Both of them need to communicate, but they are not good at it. She can not trust him after everything that has happened. He is so crazy about her that he does not let her explain, like ever. He just assumes things, and that is not good for a relationship.
Will Becca be AGAIN a lonely girl? Can someone help her resolve the puzzle her life is? Secrets will be revealed, people will get hurt, wrong decisions will be made. The big question is, are they stronger to survive this hurricane of actions and emotions? This is definitely a cliffhanger. You will hate the characters (at some point). you will love them also. You will be thrilled about the end.
This is me when I finished reading it.
I love reading this book. It is a heartwarming and breaking story. I need the second one like RIGHT NOW. The author did an excellent job, she is a genius, i LOVE HER <3. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions. I was hooked on page one. . The story will keep you from page one till the end, and then you will be asking for more. Gracie did a great job at getting you to feel the emotions from the characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that makes you realize it's not all roses and candies in life. Life is hard, payback is a bitch. We all make mistakes, but we have to learn how to be strong. That process is not an easy one, we will be hitting rock bottom. But at the end we will see the bright light, and we will be happy. Is all worth at the end? This reading was a rollercoaster of emotions. There were times that I hated Becca, others I hated Keenan. But what can I say, I love suffering !! This book does not a happy ending, it will leave you wanting more and more.
Becca's life has been a complete wreck. She lost her boyfriend, of four years, in a tragic accident. She tries to move on and date another guy, but it doesn't work out. Becca's brother, Alec, convinces her to move to where he goes to college.
Alec has two room-mates/team-mates, Keegan and Jake. Alec made it very clear to them both that his sister is strictly off limits. Although they have been warned, they do not listen. A very complicated love triangle starts. Becca is very drawn to Keegan, but she loves how easy it is to open up to Jake. She hasn't had it easy and now emotions are at a high.
This book is Gracie Wilson's debut novel. She is a very talented writer. She has the ability to pull the reader in, making them excited to see what is coming next. I must warn you though, if you don't like cliffhangers, there is one in this book. This story has a lot of twists and turns. It will put your emotions ino over-drive, which is a great skill to have when writing a novel. I really enjoyed both guys that Becca was involved with. It was very hard to pick just one, which was frustrating. I will definitely check out book 2 in this series to see what happens.
I'd be lying if I say I didn't enjoy the book and the fact that this is a debut novel, dang, it was impressive! For the record, I wasn't really into New Adult. I never knew that it is NA, not until I was reading it. But I'm glad I gave it a shot. This book is unpredictable and trust me, it'll grab your heart and you'll never gonna recover with that cliffhanger.
*DON'T LET ME START WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER PLEASE*
I love how the characters seemed to have their own uniqueness. Becca wants her life back after her trauma. She's trying. She's trying.Even life offered her more and more tragedy, she never gets tired to always try to live. And then there's Keegan with his past that made the book more interesting. And Jake. Jake who was always there for Becca, well, that's literally speaking but I love how he never left her no matter what. (Team Jake, btw) But the cliffhanger, I don't understand. I don't. ********spoilers ahead********** Who died? Is it Jake or Is it Dillan? The author did not know but I died too when I never learned who.
Overall, for a debut novel, this book made me want to claw my eyeballs out *in a good way though*
Shattered Becca Will Steal Your Heart and Emotions! 5 Star Read!!!
Lonely Girl... the title tells you almost everything about Becca in 2 words. Yet can she be anything more than the broken lonely girl she swears she is destined to be? You wouldn't think it was possible until she meets Keegan & Jake. But which one could she ever choose if she thought she could love again.
You will be sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens. Every corner is another plot twist that makes you hold your breath and wonder how the writer can take you so deep into a book and the characters. I almost read this book in one sitting I was so captivated by the well written and powerful book. And I know you will be too! The end is a huge cliffhanger and now more than ever I am praying and hoping the second book comes out soon. Great Book, well done Gracie!
This is a debut novel and very much worth the 5 stars I'm giving it. This story pulled at my heart. I think we all have those moments in our life where we feel like a fish out of water. Those moments when we stare down at a puzzle and can't see a single piece that would fit together to start framing it in. The author does a great job at getting you to feel the emotions from the characters. The loss Becca feels and then the process in rebuilding her life again. It is a heartwarming and breaking story and I recommend it to anyone looking for a book that makes you realize it's not all roses and candies in life. That sometimes sh!t happens and we just have to learn to brush off the dirt and move on the best we can.
I received this from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the beginning. It was written well and there were a few times while reading that I felt like I was there with the characters. There were moments that I thought were funny and then something would happen that I felt like I should just throw my kindle.
My emotions were all over the place with this book and I would definitely recommend this book to others. I didn't see the ending that this book got coming, but I liked how it ended and looking forward to reading more of their story.
The Lonely Girl (NA) By: Gracie Wilson 5 Amazing Stars This book grabbed me from page one and held me till the end. I read it in one sitting, I didn’t want to put it down. Gracie has created a story that will have you on the edge of your seat and never being able to guess what will happen next! Becca has been through a lot in her life and it’s just getting started. She has the crazy ex boyfriend and two men who love her more than life itself. I can’t wait to read more about of Becca’s story. Reviewed by: Twisted Belle
Okay, I'm not sure where to start. This book seriously wrecked me, in a good way. Becca suffers a major loss at a very vulnerable age and struggles to come back from the tragedy. When her brother convinces her to attend college with him, her life takes an unexpected turn. She finally finds her life in a place that she feels comfortable until fate takes another turn and then another turn, leaving the reader breathless and in shock and Becca confused and on the run. The ending is a serious cliff hanger and heartbreaking! This is a must read!
Here is the story of Becca. We follow Becca for about a year and a half and start about 8 months after a horrific car accident took the love of her life. As you would expect, the accident has messed with Becca at her very core. We follow along as she experiences highs and lows. Will Becca find love? Will she open herself up to it? Will she stay closed off?
This story pulled me in from the start and kept me glued to it. I admit that I didn’t *just* finish this story. The moment that I finished I literally said out loud, “NO! What the hell? She can’t finish it like that!” and then I sent a Facebook message to Gracie begging for book two. I had to see what happened next. (Let me just say, WOW! That is what happens in book two... W O W!)
I don’t think this is too much of a spoiler, but my favorite quote would have to be “Did I hear that right?” Alec exclaimed, “You agree he’s an asshat? Finally!” If I had to change one thing about the story, it would have to be the back and forth. I won’t go into more detail in case you haven’t read it yet.
All around I felt this was a great story and I can't wait to read the rest of the series! (I'm so used to giving a summary of the story itself... Please forgive the "short" review!)
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and an honest review you shall get* The Prologue I was instantly drawn into the story. It starts off with a traumatic event that Rebecca was a part of. Rebecca Potts a.k.a. "Becca" is now broken and lost because the one person she felt she couldn't live without is now gone.
The story evolves around Becca shutting out the world because she's still silently mourning. She experiences bad dreams every night reliving some moments of the traumatic event. Her brother Alec (who is the sweetest and protective big brother I've ever read about) is trying to pull her out of the shadow and is determine to show her what it is to start living again.
Alec convinces Becca to go to Lakehead University with him for a couple of days and there she formed friendships with her brother's friends Jacob and Keegan. I loved them both but will have to say that I was rooting for one more than the other. Keegan was smart, sexy, protective and a great friend. I wanted to yell at him because of some of his decisions. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't sure of his intent with Becca but I got over it.
Then we have Jacob or "Jakey" as Becca called him. He is rich, smart, sexy and another protective friend. Becca and Jakey formed a great friendship that had everyone else questioning their relationships. Just friends or in a relationship?
I enjoyed the story overall but won't lie about wanting to throw my kindle at the wall because of Becca and her decisions. I kept telling myself she was only 18 and in college. I liked that she seem to be getting her act together at the end of the book. She started to build confidence and was trying to live her life the way she wanted. But I couldn't handle all the crying, I kept saying "again".
About 80% into the book that when the story started to cook for me. Wow, there were so many twist and turns, ups and downs, old boyfriends making an appearance (not a good thing) that I swear I was in an episode of Criminal Minds. What an interesting turn of events, my gosh I should have had some popcorn along with a drink to watch it all unfold. My heart was jumping and I was on the edge of my seat.
Lets not talk about the end of the book. My god, be warn you are going to be shouting "what the hell, nooooooooo?" . Definitely a must read, if you want to be on a ride with The Lonely Girl!
I really liked The Lonely Girl. It was refreshing to find a book about university students that wasn’t set in Stanford or Harvard or Yale. This one was set at Lakehead University – not my alma mater, but enough like it that it brought back memories of those long lost years of residence life, cramming for exams and agonizing over romantic entanglements and hearts broken over slights and missteps, real or imagined.
If you’re a fan of happily ever after romances, The Lonely Girl is not for you. The story Gracie Wilson has crafted (it is technically very well written by the way) is very much a tragedy in the traditional sense, awash in “tragic” characters who just can’t seem to catch a break, it is fraught with miscommunications, mistakes (sometimes fatal) and at least one villain, genuinely evil and driven to madness by a need for revenge.
I can’t say I actually liked our heroine, Becka Potts, but that’s okay. It’s not the first time I’ve been riveted by a story, at least partly because I wanted to grab the main character, give them a good shake, and tell them to get their act together and stop being a victim. It happens often with work by Canadian icon Margaret Atwood (The Handmaiden’s Tale comes immediately to mind) and, for that matter, with Hamlet, Macbeth and most of the classic tragedies I studied back in those university days I mentioned earlier.
Becka’s life has been an ongoing tragedy, with one dead boyfriend, a second prone to violence and an uncanny knack for getting involved with men who can’t fully commit to her alone. It’s like the proverbial train wreck. You know, from the moment she meets Kegan and Jake (it can’t be coincidence that she meets both on the same day) that nothing good can come of this whole situation, but it’s like the proverbial train wreck, or indeed, history’s truly great tragedies. You can feel the sense of foreboding, but you just can’t look away.
In the end, after all she’s been through, it doesn’t come as much of as surprise that by book 2 of the series, she’s gone from being lonely to being The Broken Girl. We can only hope that, like the heroes of so many other multi tale epics, having finally hit bottom she can begin to rebuild her life, and somewhere in future pages, she will find a tranquil and peaceful existence, even if she never finds true love or complete happiness.
I don’t know if the worst is over for Becka, but I’ll definitely be back to find out.
“Can a heart that wasn’t healed to begin with be this shattered?”
Bec/Becca is a recent high school graduate who has just lost her boyfriend of four years to a tragic accident. She tries to move on, but at every turn is hit with some new tragedy through which she must walk and grow. She learns that things are not always as they appear to be, making it difficult to trust…well, anyone.
I liked this story. Gracie Wilson does a great job of capturing the reader’s attention and rarely lets it go. I liked Becca’s ‘voice’ as the narrator. There are unexpected twists and turns that did a great job of holding my interest throughout most of the book. Becca is a heroine that you want to root for. You want her life to get better. I’ll be honest, New Adult books are not my preferred genre, but I don’t regret reading The Lonely Girl. It was a well thought out plot with plenty of teenage angst.
The story did tend to drag a little at the end. I thought it was at the wrap up stage when two more huge tragedies occurred making me think “oh, no. Another one?” There was so much tragedy in Becca’s life, it was borderline comical. Not totally, because Gracie did a good job at making you hear Becca’s voice and I couldn’t find the actual sad stuff funny. Just the amount.
Gracie did a great job of staying in the present tense 1st POV. I know from personal experience, it’s an easy voice to slip out of and she didn’t. The writing style was good. It made me feel like I was listening to the thoughts of an eighteen-year-old girl. That being said, there were a few typos and grammar mistakes that I noticed, but nothing dramatic enough to pull me out of the story. There were a few times I was confused as to who was speaking, but it was cleared up with the next paragraph. It just would have been nice to know who was speaking before then. Although the writing needs a bit of refinement, Gracie Wilson is a good author. Her storytelling style is real and honest and kept me interested in the story.
I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone who likes a good, tragic NA story.
When Becca loses her boyfriend in a car crash which she survives she thinks her world is never going to be the same again. She tries to convince everyone around her that she is moving on with her new boyfriend Dillon. Dylan is Michaels opposite in every sense. He’s controlling, manipulative and aggressive After a visit to college with her brother, Becca decides to give the college where she planned to attend with Michael a try. This is where she meets Keegan and Jake, her brother’s two best friends. Becca is instantly draw to Keegan and she doesn’t know why. This trip leaves her realising that she can feel again. Before starting in college, Becca spends the summer with her cousin, but knows she has to break things off with Dillon before she leaves. She puts off telling him till the day before she leaves, knowing it will not go well. Well it definitely doesn’t go as she planned. She heads in the direction of her brother and Keegan, only her brother is not there till the following day, so she calls Keegan for help. She still heads out on her trip to see Charlotte, her cousin as planned. Whilst away she meets up with Jake which results in them spending most of the summer together, during which time they become really close friends. When Becca starts at college, she does so with basically three big brothers looking out for her (yes, that would drive me mad). She spends a lot of time with the three guys and things develop slowly, and not always in the way you expect things to go. Dillon re appears, still not happy about being ‘dumped’ by Becca and he wants to make her pay, which over the course, he does. With the help of her brother, Keegan and Jake, Becca makes it through the year from hell. Things between the three of them tends to get very complicated at times. Becca doesn’t know which one she feels most for but realises she needs to make her choice and soon.
I was sent a copy of this book by the author for review and I can honestly say that I freaking loved it…. My review may not do it true justice but I would recommend it to anyone. I look forward to reading book 2 as yes the first one leaves you with a curse worthy cliff-hanger!!!
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review
Ok stop reading this review for just a moment and go to amazon and by the book, because after reading this review you will want it so I am just saving you a bit of time!!
Where do I even start? This book had me at the opening line. Becca is a senior who is getting ready to graduate and start a new chapter in her life. She has this amazing boyfriend whom adores her, Michael. But sometimes our chapters are written differently than we want, because Becca has to comes to terms with the fact that Michael's book has already reached The End.
So how do you open on door when another closes. What if you want to bang on the closed door until someone opens it? But it does open, it is locked so you have no choice but to go through the other. On that side Becca finds life again. It hasn't stop but for her it did. Until her brother Alec drags her from her room to show her that there is still a life to live. Alec takes her away to show her what college life will be like for her soon enough. And with the new life means she needs to end things with her rebound guy, who is an asshat, Dillion.
Away with Alec, Becca starts to feel again and her brothers best friend Keegan is the cause of it. But then she goes for a run and ends up curled up and crying only to come face to face with mystery man! But he to is a friend of her brothers she soon realizes. His name, Jake.
I know you think you can tell where this story is going, and it does and it doesn't. Sometimes you need someone to just "get you" and other times you need someone to make you "feel". And just when you think you have the story figured out, you don't! This was such an AMAZING, HEART SHATTERING, EPIC story!! I can't wait to see what happens in the next one. Yep you read that right, there will be another book to this one. It does have a cliffhanger and it is HUGE!!
But I would recommend EVERYONE to read this book! I loved it and it will be one that I will reread many times!!
Becca needs to learn how to live her life all over again. Her world was rocked eight months prior and everybody around Becca thinks it is time she moves on. Leaving her so called boyfriend of a few months Dillion behind, Becca heads off to college with her brother Alec.
Alec has been at the University for a year already and can't wait for his sister to join him just as they had planned all of those years ago. Alec rooms with the resident hottie Keegan, and is friends with Jake. They boys are on the hockey team together and Alec and Keegan are roommates as well as best friends.
At first meeting, Becca finds herself drawn to Keegan, however is "little-sister" zoned right off the bat. Becca has some issues she still deals with daily from the tragedy only a few months ago, and because of this, she is in constant need of somebody. It was her brother Alec, but she finds Jake to be a better comfort. Jake just gets Becca,he doesn't push her, and they become the best of friends. While Becca is friends with Jake, she still feels that pull towards Keegan and things start to get a little messy.
Becca is a girl with a lot of feelings she needs to learn how to deal with. I will admit she was hard for me to connect to because of that. I wasn't on board with the way Becca dealt with what was going on around her. I wanted her to be a bit stronger, faster I suppose. For things to go well for Becca is asking too much though, at one point I don't know if this girl knew which way was up anymore.
The book has a lot going on with the character background and I felt it was a good set up for another book. I loved the ending and really want to see what happens next, there is definitely more story for Gracie Wilson to tell.
Becca has already had a rough life for a high schooler, her world came tumbling down 8 months before when the love of her life was killed in a car accident. She has to learn to feel real again in a world she wants to be a terrible nightmare and her brother, Alec is trying his best to make her do that. Alec drags her off for a few days to Lakehead University, which was her brother, hers, and her brothers best friend Michael, also the love her life's dream school. When she arrives she never would have believed she would want to come her because she felt that would betray Michael, but there are plenty of reasons to go, ones name was Jake and ones was Keegan. Becca made up her mind it was time to move on from being the lonely girl so she could live a little.
From page one I was intrigued by where this story could go of all the possibilities I never thought the ones that happened did. I was torn between who Becca would end up with and I was truly undecided up until the end of the book as to who I liked better. I am a Jake fan all the way the way he cared for Becca, the way he showed her his love is unconditional was my favorite part about their relationship. There were so many bad things that happened in this book but even with all the bad I still saw the good for Becca she finally learned to live again. I just can't wait to read the second book to know which way the story will turn next. Loved it. Great job Gracie Wilson. Now bring out #2.
You know when you get a book, then you get to the end of the book and you think to yourself what the hell, I need book two and I needed it yesterday, because it’s just that good? That was this book for me. I was immediately hooked from the first couple of pages to the very end. Bec’s life is shattered and she turns back into Becca or Rebecca anything but Bec. Bec is dead to her, she’s not even really sure that person exists anymore and all that does is remind her of the pain of the past she’s trying to leave behind.
As she tries to move forward that means going on to college. She ends up going to school with her brother, where she meets Keegan and Jake. (Totally Team Jake btw) Of course with everything that has happened to her, her brother, Alec, warns everybody with a dick that she is off limits. Still even with the warning a relationship becomes to form and a close knit friendship solidified.
Nothing in life is as it seems and Becca’s life is not easy. There are hurdles and real life relationship issues and questions that are addressed. You’ll love people, you’ll hurt for people and you’ll ask yourself what the hell are you thinking, but in the end Gracie does an excellent job of weaving the story together.
Forewarning, there is a cliffhanger at the end that will draw some sort of reaction from you. Mine was rather vulgar, lol.

REVIEW New to me Author .
Wow I was truly blown away by this story. We have Becca aka Rebecca who is a 18 yr old who has endured some deep heartache. She has withdrawn into herself and has gotten herself involved with a horrible guy to help her heal. Bad idea.
Becca goes off to college and stays with her brother and his roommate and another friend. So much happens and this poor young girl is thrown into more heartache.
This book is about enduring loss and grief and learning to heal and so much more . The story grabbed me from the beginning.. I was so heartbroken to have it leave off with a cliff hanger. Truly enjoyed and can not wait to read the next book. I recommend this book if you like stories that tug on your heart but beware there is a cliff hanger but hey if you enjoy the book as much as I did then its all good.
I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review The Lonely Girl
When your heart shatters its so hard to move on. You think you never will. You just dont want to get hurt again so you dont let people in. You just survive and try to get on with life. When Becca slowly starts to put the shattered pieces of her heart back together only to have it broken again by someone she trusted. Can her heart that was barely healed in the first place be fixed, again?
Becca falls for someone new, but will her heart be safe. Will she survive the secrets that come out from the past? Love is worth the risk. Can she really believe that? The question is: is he worth the risk? *I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the first chapter. This book left me wanting more. Cant wait to move on to book 2. The characters were fantastic. All the characters in this story mean something. I like that. I love how the things that happen in this book actually happen in RL and the reactions are what they should be. I dont know how many times I cried while reading this story. This is one of those books where you need tissues by your side. I dont want to give to much away so Im only going to warn you that the cliffhanger is jaw dropping.
The description for this book really got my attention . I thought it sounded good and intriguing . The beginning was a slower pace than I am use to. The middle brought about a more fast pace eventful story. I think the slower beginning allowed for a foundation and understanding of the characters and settings to be established. It didn't take me long to realize this was a solid 4 star book. This is not a simple story with a single storyline. It deals with multiple human topics with a wide array of emotions. It is a roller coaster with so many twists and turns. Characters that are likable/or not that play both supportive and instrumental roles in the storyline. Well written with great editing. No grammatical errors. Easy to read and follow. The only issue I had was the amount of emotions shown in a quick about of time. Felt the I love you might have been a little. I would recommend this story. Let me warn a major cliff hanger at end. I mean a jaw dropping kind of thing. (Complimentary Reader Copy)). AndreaAH
Holy mother trucker of an emotional roller coaster!
I loved this book! Oh my gosh I didn't want it to end at all!! Oh man, loved it.
Poor sweet, Becca, trying to move on after the unexpected death of her high school love. Moving away to school to be closer to her brother and finding new attraction where she least expected it.
Close friendships that help her through difficult times, and a new love interest play heavily on Becca's emotions.
If only her psycho ex-boyfriend was less on the crazy side.....zomg!!!!!!
Seriously, loved this story! I couldn't put it down and I just didn't want it to end!
Becca loses her boyfriend in as tragic car accident. Heartbroken she just can't seem to go on with her life as before.
Her parents and over protective brother decide she needs to visit him at his college to decide on her future. There she meets Keegan and thinks ok maybe I can move on.
She spends a wonderful summer with Jake before college starts. They form a friendship that can never be broken.
Schools in she has a boyfriend she loves, a best friend she can't live without and a brother who would do anything for her. But life for Becca can't be perfect! Could all 3 of them betray her? What about the past? Why does it always come back to haunt you?
This book was so good, I couldn't put it down. My heart broke for Becca. How much heartache can one girl take?
The ending blew me away! I have to get the next one now! This is the first book I have read by Gracie but will definitely be reading more of her!
