This is the worst kind of railroading. It is acknowledged several times in the book. That does not help. The main character is very passive and just lets things happen around him. He is never driving the narrative. The teachers not taking their jobs seriously and the MC not accepting this new world mean the same mistakes are made throughout. This is a book of people not really trying as they are being led around like sheep by the gods.

fun story but it really needs to be edited.

This book was a fun read, but was pretty cheesy. It losses a star because it seems that the author/editor only used spellcheck to edit the book. There are a lot of missing words and words used incorrectly.

Good read

This went along pretty well. Needs a better editor though. Just running spell check leaves a lot of issues. I'm always critical of Epilogues and this turned out to have a nice one

Excellent Story, very bad editing

Loved the story, world, system... but the editing was the worst I've read in a while. Once it's edited and updated, it'll be great.

Book one

The book hides a decent story. The complete lack of editing ruined my reading experience.
The author also made some really weird word choices.
I'm wondering if a lost one gave them the term terrorist? It is used a lot and is a term made up by the French to describe the revolution when they were doing all that head chopping, so I can't see it being a normal term in a fantasy world.
Why even call this litrpg? The MC never allocated his points. They just magically appeared in two different places. The MC is a glass cannon and should have been killed already.
What happened to the two spies? Who did they belong to?

3/10 I hate being left with unanswered questions when they are leaving the area!

Poorly Written

The story wasn't bad; the plot the usual OP MC . It was poorly written. As if English was the author's 3rd or 4th language. Phrases that made no sense, words that didn't mean what the author thought they meant, and changes from past tense to present tense are on almost every page of this book. The last major issue of this book is that it seems the author used a random adjective or adverb generator. Some truly bizarre combinations were in this book.

This author needs to take some English classes for grammar and punctuation and then read a dictionary.

An enjoyable read for those who like to read isekai with a magic based protagonist.

The character building is alright and the world building is quite nice and the system notifications aren't over powering so the story moves a long with decent pacing.

However all the good work is ruined by the number of grammatical and spelling errors.

DNF at about 40%. I wasn’t interested enough in the ideas to push through the lack of editing. Oddly misused words made it annoying to read. The LRPG elements felt tacked on and way too convenient (and that’s saying something in a genre where that’s almost an inevitability).

Unfortunately, 'Deep Depth' proved to be a significant disappointment. While the initial premise held a certain intrigue, the execution fell drastically short, primarily due to an incredibly slow and dry narrative. The pacing felt glacial; plot points unfolded with agonizing slowness, leaving me struggling to maintain any level of engagement. Maybe, I just couldn't connect to the main character. But it was just so, blah. This sluggishness was compounded by a writing style that, regrettably, offered little to captivate my attention. The prose lacked vibrancy and failed to draw me into the world or the characters, often feeling more like a factual report than a compelling story.

In fact, there were moments while reading 'Deep Depth' where I actively fought off drowsiness. The combination of the languid pace and the uninspired writing created a reading experience that was more akin to a chore than a pleasure. Despite the initial promise of the underlying concept, the book ultimately failed to hold my attention. I found myself constantly checking my progress and feeling a growing sense of detachment from the narrative. Ultimately, 'Deep Depth' simply wasn't the kind of book that resonated with me, and I struggled to connect with it on any level. It's a shame, as the core idea had potential, but the delivery left much to be desired, making it a book I wouldn't readily recommend

Ok story. Solid. Bit slow.

Overall story was fine however slow as the pacing dragged at times. The main character never really seem to have any agency in his actions. Always following along clueless, blindly accepting help from strangers as if it's normal. He's immediately thrust in situation where he takes human life and it really has no impact except for brief intersection. Some of the supporting cast were more interesting but played a very plot armored roll. Most of them were there to tell the main character what to do and direct him into the plot line. The story didn't have any real suspense as the main character has no clue of what is goal or destination should be. The leveling system is simplistic so you never understand what it would take for the character to level and so there was no suspense or drama in fighting creatures because you had no idea what effect it would have on the main character if any. There's a solid story just very predictable and somewhat forgettable because it was plain. The world building was fine and the scope of the storyline started to develop better 400 pages in but, you're not really invested in the main character's journey. It would be hard to recommend this as a series as none of the characters make me really care what's going to happen next.

DNF at 10%

I really disliked how first the godess and then Iris constantly held the hands of the MC. Iris reminded me of her anagram, Siri. Her teaching him skills from a distance and leading him around, made the MC feel overly weak.

His first human encounter in the new wotld was so contrived that it was ridiculous. Don't get me started about her personality which just doesn't fit the persona.

This story seems to follow modern feministic sentiments, reminding me of modern Hollywood and especially Disney. Even when a woman is saved by a man she will save him right after to show her dominance.

After struggling a lot to get to 10% i decided that the book wasn't for me.

Criticism and comments

I found it bizarre that the MC carriied racial traits around in his inventory and took them out to activate them.. i strongly disliked these traits to be utterly random and bemoaned that the MC got such strong skills due to plot armor. It would have been way more realistic (and hilarious) if he had ended with a tail and beaver teeth instead..

I didn't like this for a few reasons: characters become good/great a things in days (in some cases, sure, but the handwaving for longer term training and growth felt like a missed opportunity), weak dialog, and worst is this wasn't really a litrpg; maybe litrpg-lite, but I really don't like when authors do this and I essentially read a fantasy book with a drop of stats near the end of a chapter, like an after thought.

A system that grants you skills and spells *after* you've proven you can do them isn't litrpg to me, just empty notifications. If the system doesn't *enable* you to do things, but rather reacts to what you can already do, then it's just a fancy skillshare app.

If you write in a genre, *be* in that genre.

Pretty good

Overall, quite enjoyable. I liked the main and side characters enough to feel quite invested in them by the end of the book. I won't fault much of the writing as it was reasonably well written with few mistakes. Personally there were a couple things that bugged me, but I'll definitely read the next book.

My issues: When the traitor/spy was identified their motivations for the betrayal were never even hinted at, much less explained. That felt weak. Also, the world as a whole really is pretty freaking dark. I know the MC says it frequently but it doesn't make it more enjoyable to wallow in.

Have to say loved the book, character writing, pacing, etc.. but the fact is that while there are no misspellings that I saw autocorrect put in the wrong words as replacement.. alot.. I didn't read a single chapter without seeing at least one and usually more then one autocorrected incorrect word, if the author needs any help with proofreading I'd be glad to lend a hand and go over the odd chapter if you read this LeftRight ... can't wait for the next book in the series!

I would give it a 4 stars in the beginning but as you further read this book, it drops to a 3. Not a fan on how he complains about how unfair the new world is and why no one wants to make it better. He also is very curious and always ask question which im not a fan of but i know some people like that. He doesn't want to know just the basic answer but a detail answers with the whys and hows. I actually like his magic teacher more than him.

Lots of good stuff here, my main issue is the pacing felt a bit off, especially the last 20% or so of the book felt like it kept finding a way to up the ante in some way. I suppose some might like this because it does feel like a bit off relentless action and stakes but I felt like I needed a break/breather at some point, or just find a way to wrap it up sooner and save some action for book 2. Really good though, I will likely continue reading the series.

Great book

I cannot point to one thing specifically that made this story great. It was well-written and had a very interesting plot. Honestly, I was thinking about changing genres because I could not get into any books or series. This one pulled me in and did not let me go until the end.

I made it a bit more than two hours in and I'm dropping it. The main characters personality is all over the place, the city introduction is "everything from earth is amazing and better than anything anyone else could come up with" and the MC keeps touching abused girls without permission while thinking himself a good guy. Just ew

The main character is ok and his reactions are ok, but for some reason, even with magic and people that come from more advanced worlds, the other characters are dark ages uneducated and pretty much all of them live longer too.

Fun ideas. Vocabulary weak.

I swear some of the adjectives were completely random, having nothing to do with the sentence around them.
Not bad.
I’ll read future works by the authors.
But.

Awesome first chapter of what looks to be an epic adventure!

Please give it a read and see for yourselves what happens on NAVA. I found it to be very enjoyable.

Stopped reading around 45%. Plenty of editing errors, and just wasn’t fun. It’s an Isekai, but that essentially is ignored.

I've seen some say this needs an editor but honestly for me it feels like it could have benefited from a co-author. There is good stuff here but its missing a lot to make a good read.

Great book

This book has a great plot, filled with magic and system mechanics. The only reason it has 4/5 stars is because it has ALOT of typos.
