Dirty Laundry: A Collection of Poems, Short Stories, and Letters

Rate this book
Welcome to the Dirty Laundry trilogy, a collection of short stories, letters, and poetry.

Opening with a sequence of strange and regrettable flashbacks, Book 1 is a constant flight from chaos as life keeps throwing decisions at an unready narrator.

This was originally a NaNoWriMo project, but has since been formatted to tell a more complete story.

Have you ever picked up a simple collection of short stories and poems, only to laugh and cry before you had finished the first poem?

I hadn't... Until I read this book! From little jibes at the vanity of past acquaintances in the foreword, to a lament anyone will relate to, and then to some absolutely wild short stories and anecdotes that show how fully live can be lived... This book has so much.

The above words were written after I read the 1st edition of Dirty Laundry. However, after being fortunate enough to receive a free copy of the 2nd edition, I was blown away all over again. All these stories were brilliant in their own right, but this new edition reshapes them into one, overarching story that is funny, heartbreaking and overall reflection of life, with all its ups and downs.

This version is a restructured edition of the wonderful content touched on by the original, and a true treat to read!

I really enjoyed editing this book. The short stories detail the experiences and wide variety of people the author encountered during his time in the army, at college and in Thailand. The poems and letters detail themes ranging from social media to loss.

Thought-provoking and evocative, through this deeply personal book the author lets the reader in on what he learnt from each experience and interaction. I would highly recommend this book.
