Small Town Secrets by Mary Kay Cunningham was an interesting mix of small-town drama, mystery, and a bit of magic. The idea of a cursed necklace that brings success but demands a deadly price really caught my attention—it’s such a cool twist! Sebastían and Mariah are a fun pair to follow. I liked their connection and how they worked together to face all the chaos coming their way.

There were definitely some exciting moments that kept me hooked, and the small-town vibe added a lot to the tension. But I have to admit, the pacing felt off at times. Some parts dragged, while others moved so quickly I didn’t have time to really take it all in. I also wanted a bit more out of the supernatural side of the story—it felt like it could have been explored more deeply.

Still, there’s a lot to enjoy here, especially if you like stories with a mix of mystery and a touch of magic. The characters have some great moments, and the cursed necklace idea is super unique.

Thanks to Mary Kay Cunningham for the ARC! I’m excited to see what she writes next and how her storytelling grows. Small Town Secrets wasn’t perfect, but it was a fun read overall.

Please keep in mind that I was received this story as an ARC for Mary Kay Cunningham and I am grateful for the opportunity.

The idea of a cursed item that’ll grant you success in exchange for a heavy price was an interesting concept and plot, along with a small-town drama, murder mystery, and a dash or romance.

I loved the insta-chemistry between Mariah and Sebastian and how their relationship plays out as they figure out the enchanted item. I also like how we got to see different POVs from both of them, as well as some other characters in the story.

While I enjoyed the plot and story, it felt like some parts were missing, dragged on, or sped up. It sorta turned into a tv/movie manuscript with some consistency, but it was somewhat easy to read.

Overall, anyone who likes a mystery story with romance and drama as microtropes, this is a good story to read!

This story was told in an interesting way by all the characters POV’s in real time. It had mystery, intrigue, murder, thriller, and a love story all in one. It had my attention the whole time. I wasn’t sure what was coming next. It gave me some S.T. Abby and Dexter feels.
