Red Roses
Some gifts aren’t meant to be cherished.

Mariah Bennett’s quiet life as a florist is shattered when mysterious rose arrangements begin appearing at her doorstep. At first, they seem harmless, even beautiful—but their perfection feels too deliberate, too personal.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Mariah’s unease grows. Who is sending the roses, and why? When every petal feels like a warning, Mariah must decide how far she’s willing to go to protect herself—and her heart.

Fans of dark romance and psychological thrillers won’t want to miss this chilling and seductive story of passion, danger, and blossoming love.

You’re kidding right…? Like I’m being punked? I genuinely don’t wanna come off as mean or cruel but what the heck did I just read? Did ANYONE proof read this? Who is the editor? The same scenes were repeated multiple times throughout the book with slight changing as if it was multiple attempts at writing a certain part all left in by accident - and this was back to back, so something would happen and it was written one way and then it would happen again and be written slightly different. Sometimes better, sometimes not. Happened at least 5 times. I literally thought I was tripping and kept going back like no this literally JUST happened. I mean it’s a cute premise but wowza I dunno this is just bad. And I swear if I had read CANAL one more time I might have lost it 😭 also the whole oh we accidentally killed the stalker to oh hey let’s fu€k was not giving… it was super cringey. And this is coming from someone who LOVED haunting Adeline. So I’m guessing the whole thing was just poorly written and so I couldn’t get into that type of thing with bad writing? I don’t know man I’m rambling because I’m so shook 😂 I obviously do not recommend.

tried to like it

A lot of it didn’t make much sense to me.

It started out great, about a girl who owns a flower shop in the middle of fulfilling the Valentine’s Day flower rush. She used to be in an abusive relationship and is now closed off to having any relationship for the past two years, until someone leaves her black roses, and then everything changes.

Out of nowhere, it was like reading a different story.

Plus, why would you leave your house due to a stalker breaking in, so you stay at your coworker’s house? Then, the very next night, you say, “We’re going to my house so my stalker won’t know where my coworker lives.” What?

A lot of repetitive scenes in the story throughout. Not sure if editor missed something or what? Then I felt like there was potential with story line but author either couldn’t put it to paper or just wasn’t thinking that way. Stalker just shows up then isn’t there anymore but then is he??? You’re left with a wtf moment. The romance was cute but also gave weird vibes as he may be involved with stalker. Plus major grammar issues.

Mariah (FMC) owns a flower shop and Cole(MMC) works for her. Mariah’s Ex boyfriend Jared was abusive, so she has been closed off from love. She starts to receive unique roses with no note and she doesn’t know who they are from. She alerts the police but they do not take it seriously. You find out who her stalker is but all in all the book was Meh. 🫤

Mariah & Cole

While the idea was interesting, I found the writing a bit confusing. Some things were repetitive, and the stalker storyline wasn’t very clear—especially whether Cole knew who was behind it. I wanted to like this, but it could benefit from more clarity.

This was suggested for a reading challenge. It was a decent quick read. I enjoyed the suspense of the stalker and trying to figure out who it was. The spice level was high. But it was a decent story overall. I would continue the series and read more by this author.

I get the story line but I wasn’t done really well. Things in the story just didn’t make sense. I like that she tried but some more research might be required. ❤️

This had the potential to be a good book, but was definitely lacking. The plot wasn’t very thought out. Stalker? Where? Why? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
