I did not like Ashley at all. Keeping a parent from their child for selfish reasons, is horrible.

This is the second book by Stacie Strong and it is as good as the first. We return to the Sunflower Farm where they are getting ready for Jesse and Rose’s wedding. Single mom, Ashley Singletary, and her daughter, Layla, have lost everything in a devastating fire, including the school where Ashley was teaching. Her friend Rose has the two of them come and live with her. Connor Williams arrives at Sunflower Farms to build a gazebo for Rose and Jesse’s wedding and “Suprise!” He is Ashley’s old boyfriend and the father of little Layla.( tho he doesn’t know it) Connor is more recently divorced and not interested in dating anyone, that is until he gets reacquainted with Ashley. Ashley knows she needs to tell Connor about Layla, but the timing never seems right. How will it turn out?

This was my first book from this author.

I really did enjoy it and it was a good reminder that some decisions are not easy. Yet no matter how it turns out doing the right thing is always best.

I can understand how the worst kept going through her mind. Yet I wish she would have told him earlier than she did.

Sweet story, good reminder that some decisions are not easy. I can relate to little Layla due to hearing loss and would have loved to read more about her. A new author to me and bought this book on a whim and glad I did, I want to read the first boo

This was a cute, clean read. I was definitely hooked on the characters, especially sweet little Layla. This is a well-rounded story with everything a small-town romance usually has. The only thing I didn't like about this read is Ashley's procrastinating way of dragging her feet and the poor excuses for not revealing the information she needed to get off her chest. That, and all the talk of the fire and her running out of money; there was never a discussion on what's left, no insurance, just pack up and forget the rest. I just feel that if that's all she talked about, how come there was never an outcome for any of it? That's the reason for the 3.5 rating.
