Jace
Alone and with a newborn, my life was about to change. I was in trouble. I had no idea where to start when my new, sexy as hell, neighbor showed up to help me. And thank God she did.
I’ve managed to put my life, and my heart, back together. A fresh start. A new, happy life. At least, that’s what I thought. Until the echoes of the past come back to haunt us.

Maddison
Leaving Philadelphia wasn’t exactly in my plans, but I had to. My life was in danger. But I won’t ever leave someone close to me again.
When I heard desperate cries come from the home next door, my terrified and broken heart lurched at the thought of another innocent life needing my help, and I knocked on his door.
Emily won over my heart as Jace did.

But the past is out to get me, and if we aren't careful, they're going to be in the firing line. Should I walk away to keep my heart safe? Or can love conquer all?

Adina D. Grey is a USA Today and International Bestselling Author. She was born and raised in Italy so it's no surprise she has a huge addiction to coffee, dogs, and books.

Her book addiction and passion for travelling led her into the creative world of words where she writes, blogs, and beta reads. Her writing covers various sub genres and tropes but she's a sucker for a HEA, this is a cliffhanger free zone.

When she's not writing or reading you can find her entertaining her toddler and husband, and enjoying family life.

Cute story however it seemed a bit too unrealistic. I realize Maddie is a doctor but she kinda forces herself into their lives and spends tons of money on them immediately. Things seemed too rushed even for love at first sight kinda situations. I definitely liked the characters and the general idea of the story

Firstly thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Here is my review.

I read this within 2 hours as its around 90ish pages so fairly quick to read.
Its a very fast paced book with it only being short but it is very character based and I think that really helps to make the read enjoyable as you quickly fall in love with both Maddie and Jace.

Its a very unique love story, where main characters Maddie and Jace save each other from their previous lives and at just the right time too.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely isnt the last, I am about to check out her other books.

The only 'con' I have, is I noticed some spelling mistakes and misuse of words for example instead of using the word 'said' it was 'say' which to me, the sentence didnt quite sound right as I was reading it. Thats why I have rated this 4 stars.

Adina D. Grey, can't stop surprising me. In such a small book, less than 100 pages, she managed to develop a truly fantastic story. The love between Jace and Maddie is beautifully developed so that you too fall in love with the protagonists. Obviously, should I be talking about that pinch of suspense that keep you glued to the end? In a heartbeat is a delicious HEA, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This was my first book by Adina D. Grey and it won't be the last!
I found this book to be very character driven. I loved the connection between Jace and Maddie. They both came from very different paths and I loved how the author detailed this. I felt their connection jumped right up off the page and they made me invested into how their story would develop.
I can't wait to see what the author will do with this series and where she will take this world.
If you are looking for a light, quick read, I recommend this.
Be warned though. These characters will make you fall in love with them fast.

Book Review
In a Heartbeat
A Novella Written By Adina D. Grey
Fiction - Romance
Published 2021
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

This story is told with dual points of view between the two main characters, Maddison and Jace.

Maddison is a neonatologist who relocates to a small town in New Hampshire to escape an abusive relationship. Jace is a firefighter who lives next door to the duplex Maddison buys when she relocates. Jace has been unlucky in relationships. He is now raising his newborn daughter alone after his girlfriend decides she does not want to be a mother. Luckily for Jace, Maddison is willing to help him out.

This book is a novella so things move quickly.

This book contained many grammatical errors, especially in verb tense. I received an ARC of this book which often do contain some errors. The errors in this book distracted from my enjoyment of the book. I did like the storyline, but because of the many errors, I had to give this book 31/2 stars. I hope corrections were made before a final copy was released.

This is the first time I have read this author, but won't be the last. In a Heartbeat is probably the fastest book I have ever read, but it was really good. I loved the back story and the insta-love between Maddison and Jace. Jace has become an instant daddy and his neighbor Maddison comes to help him with the baby. These two hit it off and become close while carrying for Jace's daughter. However, when Maddison's past comes back can Jace save her before it's too late?

Wow this is the first book that I have read by this author and its less then 100 pages.
This was a sweet story of Jace and Maddie, they both have rough pasts and how a little girl was able to bring them together. The connection they all have is lovely.
This book would be good for a quick late night read.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it won’t be the last. This is a very sweet short story with some suspense mixed in. Jace saw Maddie and just knew. This book goes over their journey. There was one part at the end I would have loved more clarification/expanded on. But this was a very good book.

Jace opens his door to find he is now a single father - says something about his ex but then again that is how our story begins
Madison has had her experiences with bad ex's as well and she isn't looking to form bonds but when she sees Jace needs a helping hand with his new little bundle ...
Some things just can not be ignored

I was a bit surprised at the amount of story this author fits into this novella. Enough to give you a taste and a HEA but not truly enough to get you fully vested.
Actually, a perfect lunchtime or beach read

The most unexpected surprises come in the littlest packages. This love story had me hooked from the first few pages.
Jace and Maddie are like watching a perfectly timed slow dance that leaves you mesmerized, warm, and smiling from ear to ear.

A short but explosive read, Maddie had to move it was the only way before her ex killed her and now she was living next door to Jace who seemed to have his hands full with a new baby. Action packed with a dreamy man who falls for a beautiful woman, big yes for me. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Jace and Maddie find each other both going through
A difficult situations in their lives. Jaces fiancé decides she doesn’t want them anymore or their child & leaves Jace. Maddie moves to a new town to get away from an abusive relationship; she purchases house that used to be owned by Jace & is next to his own house. Jace comes home to find a baby on his porch; his baby girl Emily with a note from Natalie; giving up her parental rights. Maddie comes home & hears a baby crying so she goes next door to see if she can help; and a new beginning starts for them all. This is my first book I’ve read by Adina D. Grey & it won’t be my last.

I Insta-love, next door neighbor, single dad
Quick and easy to read.
I looked past some of the errors in the book because it is an ARC copy. Hopefully they were fixed prior to release.
That being said this was short and sweet as a novella should be.
I found the instalove aspect to be a bit unrealistic. A baby was literally dropped on Jace’s doorstep and he’s already falling for the baby expert next door.
But, I was in love when Jace found Maddie and Emily sleeping on the couch together. Jace looking forward to his daughter’s first Christmas and hoping His future children look like Maddie was sweet. The spice between them which was nice.
Overall, I enjoyed this one. If you’re looking for an hour read, pick this one up.

This was my first read by this author and certainly won’t be my last. The story of Maddison and Jace will fill your heart with love. Maddison meets Jace when she moves next door to him. Jace is a single father who has no clue how to take care of a baby. Maddison comes to his rescue and sparks fly! These two have definite chemistry! This story may be a quick read but it has suspense, lust and even possibly love! I really enjoyed the interactions between these two as you can tell they belong together. This story is about second chances in life and finding your soulmate. I definitely recommend this delightful story!

ARC Review
.
This was a quick spicy read. Maddie is escaping an abusive Ex while Jace is struggling at suddenly becoming a single Father after his Ex drops the baby on his doorstep. Luckily Maddie is a neonatologist and pretty much jumps him and gives him a crash course in all things baby.
They inevitably develop feelings for one another and things progress very quickly. Then the Ex’s start making appearances and all Hell breaks loose.
There’s sweetness, spice & drama at every turn in this story.
I finished in just a couple hours so it’s a fast read but filled with drama to keep you entertained.
.
Just a few things I wish were done differently:
There were lots of grammatical errors but knowing this was an ARC could explain the lack of editing. There were a couple words used in the spicy scenes that made me cringe but everyone has different tastes for that sort of thing. The story has a lot going on and felt a bit rushed at times with the relationship moving extremely fast but it was still a sweet story it just felt a little too fast for me.

I got the amazing opportunity to read this as an ARC
and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

FAST PACED!!

Jace and Emilie are absolutely amazing together and they are each other saving grace from the crap life has thrown at them.

I love the green flags our MMC shows and doesn’t pressure her into anything

I will definitely be on the lookout to see what happens next and will look at what else this author has to offer 💖

I loved this book! It was short but sweet with a little bit of spice! Jayce and Maddie are two people who have gone through different forms of relationship trouble but end up saving each other in the end. When Jayce’s ex leaves a baby on his door step, how will he get by?
I felt that this book was really fast paced but overall the plot line was great! This book ends with a HEA and is a refreshing read for sure. I thought some of the terminology used in the dialogue was kind of stiff but the emotion that she writes into the plot drew the story together for me

This is the first book I have read by Adina!
I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

I really enjoyed the story line and while some of it felt a bit choppy and some of the dialogue felt a bit awkward, I really enjoyed Maddison and Jace’s story.

Sometimes people come into our lives when we least expect it and that’s exactly what has happened for both of them.
Maddison is trying to get over a horrible breakup with an abusive ex, and Jace is still getting over the fact that his pregnant ex no longer wants the family she convinced him she wanted.

When Jace comes home to an unexpected surprise at his doorstep, Maddison steps in to help and what blossoms from there is exactly what they both needed.
