Never go outside after sunset. The shadows lurk, always watching, and they are ravenous.
Wolf Mountain is steeped in a curse that runs deep within its soil, making the house the very heart of darkness. A shroud of evil blankets the land, concealing its secrets from the untrained eye.
Wolf Raven was born and raised in this haunted dwelling, unable to break free. An unseen force binds him there, along with the ghosts who visit him in the dead of night.
His brother, Cyrus, torments people, while Wolf finishes the job with his axe.
One night, a blood-curdling scream pierces the silence of the dark forest. He rescues a woman from a shadowy creature, only to discover that she harbors secrets of her own.
When the voices won't stop, how can you get out of your own head?
Mika Rayne was cornfed and raised in Iowa. She lived in Colorado and Louisiana for a bit, and now her home is happily in the Rocky Mountains. She loves cooking, running her cleaning business (she has the best clients ever), taking photos, reading, writing, and being a mom. '80s metal, oldies, grunge, and classical music are her favorites. Inspiration for writing is easy since nature is abundant where she lives. She writes all types of romance tropes. Mika loves her little family more than life.
The end was absolutely 🤯 i definitely need another book . It surprises me the mystery the thrill 🥺🥺🥺 i absolutely love it . Definitely recommend it . Wolf was rawrrr 😍 and i finished in one go😍😍😍
Omg!!! This book was full of twist from start to finish. And the ending had me screaming and tossing my tablet then staring at a wall for 5 mins. Loved it 😈 Definitely recommend
I made it past chapter 1. I felt like celebrating. Possibly the darkest book I have read. Not at all what I was expecting from Mika. She scared me. It is Dark Romance, gory, but most of all horror. True, crap in your pants (sorry 🤷♀️ - read the book) turn your hair white, believe in ghosts and the supernatural scary. Not sure if Wolf or Cyrus is more crazy than the other. You can feel the horror in the air when Daisy finds out what the boys are and what they have done. I was at Chapter 6 before I realized the time. Impossible to put this book down. Don’t try to read at work. I loved the ending. So many questions answered. Hopefully book 2 will be released quickly 🙏 🙏
This story is insane but so gripping you have to finish it but the ending doesn’t give satisfaction if you’re looking for HEA necessarily. It’s not super sad or anything but it is more thriller ending so it’s still a great read! It’s spicy, mysterious, and down right insane!!! If you enjoy romance and horror this is right up your alley.
This book is a sexy dark thriller romance! It leaves you guessing at every turn. The spice is 🔥! What more could you want. This book has, sexy mountain men, a curse, evil shadow spirts, creepy dolls, a haunted house, soooo much past and current trauma, serial killers, family secrets, and so much more! And in all that Mika is the queen of hilariously dark one liners! Don’t wait, add to cart now! You won’t regret it!
So good! It has everything - horror, mystery, gore, romance, WTFery, surprise endings. Everything! I can’t say enough how much I loved this book - read it now!
OMG MIKA DID IT AGAIN!! Wolf Mountain is an amazing horror sexy romance that is breath taking! I bout this in Ebook and I bought the paperback. I am obsessed with this book. How wolf, Cyrus and Daisy interact together. To the murder scenes, to the shadows in the woods. If you love a horror with a twist that isn't in a feminine kinda stance this is for you. I love this book sooo much!!
The plot twist! Damn. I didn't see it coming. This book was strange in all the best ways. I devoured it within a day. Wolf and Daisy, Cyrus and Reaper... They're all amazing. I can't wait to see what happens in Rose's book.
A serious mental darkness to a comforting love story. The longer you read, the more attatched you become to the characters. The shadows of the past are haunting enough to make you wonder how real they are. And just when you think things might get better... your heart gets ripped from your chest. But is that really the truth, or was it all just his haunted mind giving him a way out.
I feel like this story is darker than what is on the surface. I cried for way too long before I realized the mental complexity of what the main character fought with in his own head.
I love this book, but it is not for the faint of heart.
Wolf Mountain is horror, sexy, mysterious, and undeniably dark - exactly what I was craving. I’ve been deep in my dark-romance/criminal-era lately, so picking this up was inevitable, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
Two brothers live in a gothic mansion at the top of a deadly, secluded mountain. If the brutal winter doesn’t kill you, the wildlife might… and if not the wildlife, then the shadows will. These shadows aren’t just creepy - they’re deadly. They send out tentacle-like tendrils that snatch you into the forest and tear you apart. No body, no trace.
The law sees the brothers as criminals. Me? Not so much. Wolf is a serial unaliver - 302 kills when the book begins, and counting. Cyrus, the younger brother, tracks down the “victims” across multiple states and drags them back to Wolf Mountain. But they never harm innocent people. Their targets are abusers, rapists, sex traffickers, child-killers - the worst of the worst. They’re cleaning up the world in their own brutal way, and honestly, I didn’t mind.
Then Daisy enters the picture. She’s a survivor of many things, running from a past darker than the mountain itself. Even after the shadows almost kill her, she feels safer in that haunted mansion with a serial unaliver and a stalker than she ever did at home. That alone tells you everything about her trauma.
As for the horror elements? The shadows are terrifying enough, but the mansion adds its own nightmares: - voices whispering through the walls, - demonic souls trapped in china dolls that hiss and burn, - a bedroom full of taxidermied cats, - a ghost who appears at night, calls your name, sits on your chest, touches your lips, and kisses you
And that plot twist? Chills. Absolute chills. The ending left me stunned. A brutal cliffhanger - and according to the author, book two is already in the works. I NEED to know what happens to Wolf.
Dark, atmospheric, twisted, and addictive. I’m already waiting impatiently for the sequel.
This is the first book I’ve read in a while that is told solely from one character’s POV and my gosh it was so good! I found myself wanting to stay awake to keep reading. The suspense and sexual tension had me on the edge of my seat the entire book. I loved the premise of a haunted house with secrets, supernatural murders, and brothers trying to rid the world of evil while feeling connected and trapped on the mountain.
Wolf was a phenomenal main character. The author did a wonderful job fully developing him from his physical description to his personality. I found myself rooting for him the entire book. Daisy was a great fmc. Although I do feel like she and Wolf’s love was a little trauma bonded. I loved that they each accepted each other’s flaws.
The spice scenes were definitely spicy! Wolf is a brute of a man and the way he manhandled Daisy in the most consensual of ways was well written. With that being said, if you’re seeking a happily ever after, you will not find it in this book.
I knocked one star because the majority of the reveal happens very quickly in the last chapters of the book. I was left with a few questions that will hopefully be answered in the next installment in the series.

What can I say???? THIS BOOK WAS F*CKING AMAZING!!! Wolf Wolf wolf!!! A literal mountain of a man you want to choke but you love every bit of him. and the fact daisy has secrets of her own to hide... then Cyrus... Just as dangerous as his brother but that was a Rollercoaster ride I wasn't expecting!!! If you havent read this book, you need too... let's not even mention the amount of bones this book hides!!! Definite 10 stars!!!!
This book was recommended to me today by someone that you met at the convention in Salt Lake this weekend. She could never, but knows that I love gory horror books. I finished it in three hours. I sent her a message when I got to 93% that basically said, "Hey, I feel like shit is gonna go down in the next 7% and I'm gonna be upset."
So many unanswered questions felt a little sloppy, I even reread to make sure I didn’t miss something. I was hoping it would all be addressed and wrapped up but alas it just ended. Perhaps the reviews hyped me too much.
Wolf Mountain is an amazing horror sexy romance! This is a horror /dark romance / thriller that deserves all the attention! I can’t wait for the next book!
