What would you do with an offer that seemed too good to be true? Risk being hurt by a nefarious scam or miss out on an incredible opportunity?
Spring Sullivan loved teaching her kindergarten students, though the cold, snowy weather in Spokane, Washington, was something she’d rather do without. During her waking hours, she dreamed of warm, sunny days, blooming flowers, and experiencing the Wild West. But while sleeping, horrific nightmares plagued her.
Due to budget cuts, Spring was laid off before the school year ended. After exploring her dismal options, she returned to her parents’ potato farm near Boise, ID. This was not the life she wanted, so she reluctantly accepted the Fantasy Maker’s offer of an amazing vacation—a week of sightseeing in Tucson, Arizona.
She loves the sights, scents, and warmth of the desert until evidence of a nearby stalker and a thief disrupts her joy. But why? No one here knows her. That makes no sense. Jackson, a good-looking Federal Air Marshal, tries to protect her, but not knowing whom she can trust, she wonders about his intentions... for a while.
Is Spring still the naïve potato girl from Boise, or will she outwit the evil and fight for what’s right?
Perfect for fans of Kris Bock’s Desert Goldor Nicholas Sparks’ Counting A Novel. And, if you remember and enjoyedMatilda by Roald Dahl, you will love Spring’s Fling.

Cricket Rohman grew up in Estes Park, Colorado among deer, elk, bobcats, and beautiful blue columbine.
She is a full-time author and recently released Book 4 in the McAllister Brothers series. (Western Romance, Action-Adventure) titled WILD WEDDINGS.
Her creative endeavors began when she headed down the mountain to attend college in Greeley, Colorado and took up playing the guitar and singing with her brilliant brother’s folk groups, The Sundowners and Friendship Sloop. During these singing years she was bitten by the show-biz bug and appeared in a few TV pilots, numerous commercials, and theatrical voice-overs.
Before becoming a full-time author of Romantic Mystery, Women's Fiction, Action-Adventure, Cricket’s career path included the following jobs: audio/video producer, classroom teacher, school principal, and University of Arizona-College of Education assistant professor.
Cricket's best known novels are the books in The Lindsey Lark Series. Book 1 WANTED: AN HONEST MAN Book 2 LETTERS, LOVERS, & LIES Book 3 HIT THE ROAD, JAKE!
And, yes. Cricket’s novels are fiction . . . Really! (OK, except the part about the dog; she really had a dog like Wendell, the mastiff in this series.)
Spring Sullivan is a timeshare kindergarten teacher in Spokane, Washington, who hates the cold and snow, and was dreaming of sun and beaches. She received a strange letter saying she had won a competition that she and some of the other staff had applied for the previous year. The invite tells her she has won a week away organised by the Fantasy Maker company, but not much else. Only getting half a salary already makes matters difficult, but the next staff meeting sees her losing her job altogether, even though the school’s budget had just been raised. There are months of the school year still to go, but getting another teaching job will be next to impossible. Her head manages to line up three interviews for jobs in Tucson, Arizona, and whilst two of them quickly turn out to be duds, the third wants to see her in person. That causes her a bit of a tizzy, as she has always had a horrific fear of flying, having nightmares for years of being in a plane crash, even though she has never actually flown anywhere! If she has received more notice, she could have driven or taken a bus down, but she has no choice and is forced to try and get on a plane for the first time! Thankfully a lovely man called Jackson Brown, helps her get on the plane and sits her beside him, so he can help keep her calm. He even offers her a pill to take, to allow her to sleep during the flight and to distract her if needed. An older woman overhears him and tries to warn her off, but Spring hasn’t much choice now she is on the plane and she feels safe with him. He drops her off at the hotel she is booked into and gives her his number, hoping to see her whilst she is in Tucson. When her interview goes badly, she leaves, sending a text to Jackson to let him know, but doesn’t hear from him.
She had to move back to her parent’s potato farm in Boise, Idaho, but that is not somewhere she wants to stay. She likes her independence and her role as a teacher to young kids. When a man hand delivers another invite to her Fantasy Maker holiday, she ends up taking it on, but making her own way there by bus, calling Jackson as she gets near the airport, even though a limo was supposed to be picking her up. She will only know her itinerary for the week, in the morning of each day and will be told where she is going and what to wear. Jackson spends time with her when he can and Spring sees a woman hiding nearby on a few occasions, seemingly watching them and she thinks Jackson must have a stalker. Whilst Jackosn keeps seeing the same man around Spring and believes she has a stalker! A few strange occurrences interrupt the peace of her trip, as her belongings go missing, her belongings get taken and there is another even more serious near miss whilst she is at the local zoo. Jackson has been fairly reluctant to talk much about what he does, as it seems he isn’t just an Air Marshall and has lots of links to local law enforcement. She wonders whether she can truly trust him, but soon who is actually being stalked becomes crystal clear, as her dream holiday turns deadly! A really shocking revelation at the end for Jackson, but also some nice surprises for Spring, that will make her life a lot easier for the future, as well as Jacksons’. Still no idea who the Fantasy maker themselves is and a big reunion event being planned, which I can’t wait to catch. Spring got her wish to experience the Wild West, but got a lot more than she expected out of her trip, including a HEA ending.
I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my opinion of the book above.
Spring’s Fling, part of the Fantasy Maker series by Cricket Rohman, is a delightful mix of action and humor that keeps you engaged from start to finish. From the opening pages, you’re pulled into a world where every twist and turn brings a fresh burst of excitement. Rohman’s storytelling is masterful and immersive, with vivid descriptions that make you feel the Arizona desert, the Idaho potato farm, and the attraction between Jackson and Spring.
The story strikes a great balance between humor and action. Just when things get intense, a well-timed joke or funny situation pops up, lightening the mood and making the whole reading experience both thrilling and fun. This careful balance keeps the narrative from ever feeling too heavy while still packing in enough intrigue to keep you flipping the pages.
Even when the story takes darker turns with stalkers and kidnappers, I never doubted that The Fantasy Maker and Martin would keep Spring safe. Their dynamic added a reassuring layer to the plot.
What could make this book even better? Rohman’s talent for writing lovable pets is undeniable. I really wish the coyote pup had a more prominent role in the story. Seeing more of its adventures woven into the plot would have been great. The orangutan was entertaining, yet a little bit sad.
Spring’s Fling is perfect for anyone who loves clean, romantic adventures with a dash of mystery and intrigue. There is no need for a “closed door” in this story. The romance is sweet and clean. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series, and I’m crossing my fingers that Martin’s story will be told soon. He’s such an interesting character, and I can’t wait to see where Rohman takes him next!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Cricket Rohman's new book. It is part of a standalone series called The Fantasy Makers. I have read another book in the series, and this one was just as entertaining and fun to read. The protagonist, Spring Sullivan, was sent a letter that said she won a week free vacation in Tucson, Arizona. She thought it was a scam but later found out differently. On the flight to Tucson, she met a mysterious man who helped her with her fear of flying and was going to Tucson also. Things about the free vacation started getting stranger each day and eventually became dangerous for her and the new mysterious man from the plane. They became close as time went on and tried to help each other stay safe. This storyline was interesting and suspenseful with all the twists and turns that the protagonist and the mystery man encountered to stay safe. Cricket Rohman is a fantastic romance writer and does a great job of keeping the reader engaged and wanting more.
I’d like to believe I would be more open to entering contests & possibly be the lucky recipient like Spring in Cricket Rohman’s Spring’s Fling (The Fantasy Maker Series). I received a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
The first few pages come to life quickly & I was instantly pulled into the adventures that were sure to come. The author has a flare for creative writing, while sometimes inserting a little quirk that remains in the back of your mind. This adventure has everything you could want for a day of relaxed reading! Make sure to read your copy soon! I look forward to reading more books by Cricket Rohman (who happens to live in my favorite place in the world - Estes Park, CO!)
I have read several books by Cricket Rohman and usually like them. However, I found this one lacking. While several parts of the book are quite interesting and grab my attention, sometimes the story disappears. I couldn’t find the chemistry between Spring and Jackson and couldn’t see the need to hide Jackson’s job. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Spring has a string of bad luck losing her teaching job and interviewing with new schools that weren't a good fit. She is afraid to fly, having reoccurring nightmares about it. Jackson helps her with her fear and they draw closer but a several things happen to keep them apart. Then Spring wins a fantasy vacation that takes her on a wild ride with Jackson.
SPRING'S FLING - I usually love stories by Ms. Rohman but this book ticked me off. I got so mad at Spring's stupidity, in Tombstone, with Jackson that I stopped reading. The book was very good until then. A good relationship. Good suspense. A good mystery. Then bad stupidity with her response to Jackson not being able to share about his work at THAT time. They only knew each other a few days and he's supposed to divulge secrets at her demand. Stupid. Source: Booksprout. 3*
STAR'S SECRET SANTA - A sweet, funny romantic story with Holly's character doing all the heavy lifting. Martha is a sweet addition to the story. Source: BookSprout. 4*
THE CREATIVE HEARTS SWEET ROMANCE SERIES: TINA’S TASTY TOURS - Not a cow anywhere in this cute story but bunches of fun and another great couple. There are stumbles here and there but the story stays happy with no silly drama. A great way to unwind after a hectic day. I enjoy the drama free stories and the communicating that the author's characters do in their relationships. Source: BookSprout. 5*
CAITLIN’S COW WASH - Cute. Funny. Sweet. The perfect couple. I loved the title of this delightful, quickly read story and discovered it's just as loveable between the covers. Plenty of good characters, happy events, and fun. Plenty of cows to go along with the other animals. Perfect for a break or just relaxing. Source: BookSprout. 5*
PHOEBE'S PHOTO FOLLIES - I don't know which is my favorite, Phoebe or Caitlin. A sweet, wonderful young woman making the best of a bad situation. Source: Booksprout. 5*
ANNA’S ANIMAL HOUSE - A surprisingly entertaining, cute quick read. Wonderful characters, plenty of animals, adventures, humor, and fun. Source: BookSprout. 4* THE CREATIVE HEARTS SWEET ROMANCE SERIES end.
AUTUMN’S GHOST - My first read by this author and few things were off but, otherwise, a good, clean story. Good story lines, good characters and plenty of animals made this an easy read. The off bits : Why did Ranger freak out at F-T's unasked for help at the barn? Nothing unusual happened at this time. This is animal abuse keeping a horse locked in a shed, used as a barn, and not letting her out in the mornings. Worse treatment against the horse was when it was dumped, the person asking about the horse could have been told where it belonged. There's NO excuse for that action; the rider had time to calm down and think straight. They both had books on horse care. Why is the fox male, then female, flipping each time it comes into the story? Even with the Off Bits, this is still an average but good read. Source: Booksprout. 3*
