Returning to Mating Season was supposed to be a blessing, especially for an Omega in my position. I’ve always been drawn to powerful Alphas and the show has plenty to offer. Last season, the pickings were slim. I should be overjoyed to be here again.
But that was before I ran into them.
Sinfully handsome. Sworn enemies. Territorial leaders who’d rather kill each other than find a Luna.
And according to my wolf: Both are my fated mates.
The Omega, Mating Season 8, is the final installment to the Mating Season world written per reader request. This story is an MFM (ménage) relationship featuring the sweet Omega named Opal we met in Season Seven and the deliciously dark Alphas she’ll meet during Season Eight. It is a full-length, standalone novel with cameos from characters we’ve come to love. Stay tuned for the epic final release.
Heather K. Carson is the mother of two feral little boys by day and published author by night. When she isn't working on a new book or refereeing a wrestling match, she's covered in mud from playing in the garden or dancing around the kitchen and whipping up enough food to feed the monsters she created.
In her paranormal romance books, you'll find world building twists, lovable side characters, beastly males, and strong female leads who like to shake things up.
Heather currently resides in the Pacific Northwest and spends whatever free time she gets by running away to the mountains with her equally exhausted husband and the best chocolate lab in the whole world.

Heather does it again! I was able to land an ARC copy of this and I couldn’t read it fast enough! I was so beyond happy for Opal and loved watching her develop into such a fierce character that did not shy away from owning who she was and what/who she wanted. I was so ecstatic that she got the best of both worlds between her mates. From the quiet and brooding alpha to the outgoing and loud alpha I was hooked. She truly had such great mates who ended up just flowing beautifully to her needs and wants to give Opal everything she deserved. I am so so sad this series is over, but this book was the perfect ending to such an awesome group of characters!!

Opal’s story was an exciting ending to a fabulous series. I’m so happy that Opal got her HEA. Her mates compliment her in all the best ways. The banter and chemistry in this book was delightful as always. This series is great if you want a fun palate cleanser in between some heavier books. I’m going to miss the cast from Mating Season!
I had the opportunity to get an ARC. I completely devoured this last book of the series! Heather did not disappoint with Opal’s story. If you’ve read the other books in the series, you’ll recognize a few characters from previous books. The alpha games were different in this season, but it was still very entertaining!
This was a nice series to read over a busy week. I was looking forward to this after reading the premise and I loved the drama and angst at the start/middle however the ending wrapped everything up way too quickly where it harmed the plot and the growth of the characters.
I don’t know if it’s a me problem but Opal seemed kind of manipulative when it came to her alphas and I feel guilty for thinking it as the book was telling me that’s a stereotype that omegas must overcome but still. I could still enjoy her POV chapters but the stunt she pulled at the end (running away to fix all their problems without getting the alphas agreement first) really didn’t sit well with me.
I loved Dorian, he was a really great character in that he didn’t have that alphahole energy and wasn’t really possessive or controlling in the usual way of alphas. He was having to learn as he went and doing his best for a pack he really cared about (and what a great pack it was). It was so refreshing to see that it kinda hurt the more traditional representation of an alpha.
Atlas might be a sweetie pie, strong silent type, hard shell and soft interior … but some things he did made him go down in my view of him. The way he judged and hated Dorian for things that, if he spent anytime with Dorian, would be cleared up straight away, meant he just came off as prejudiced and judgemental. In my opinion, he should have made a bigger apology to Dorian for trying to kick out an aging circus act out of their home. I can see that Dorian might have been a bit oblivious to Atlas’ concerns but booting someone out of a home seems the bigger sin to me.
All in all, I definitely had problems with this but it was just a bit of fun to get me through the week. I didn’t go into this book thinking it would be my new favourite, but with a longer story and more likeable characters (Atlas and Opal) it had potential x
“ “Sex doesn’t discriminate between those who want it.”
Who would thought Opal, the sweetest shy little shifter would say those words. I was hooked from the beginning! Had the fortunate opportunity of being part of the ARC team and My Oh my! I could not put this book down. I loved the previous books of the series and couldn’t wait to read this last one. The story is steamy, fun, teasingly addictive and very unexpected. Heather brought the narrative of werewolves shifters to another level and mating season is my favourite series so far. In my confession I relate so much with Opal that I was gasping and giggling by myself whenever she did something I would. And Cindy’s question about Atlas was my own at the very start of his description. Ooof, don’t read in public you might need some…. Tissues xD
Now that the serie is over I feel nostalgic. Honestly a must read.

The Omega is a book you won't be able to put down. The MCs will make you fall in love with them, the plot with keep drawing you in and the ending is perfect. Our sweet Omega and her "teddy bear" wolf alpha mates are just what you need. The perfect ending to a wonderful not your average alpha wolf series. Heather has definitely shown up and shown off with these books. Thank you Heather for all your hard work writing these amazing books! I look forward to seeing what you come up with next. ❤️
This book is a whole experience. It's tropey in the best way, deliciously steamy, and absolutely packed with action - emotional and otherwise. The dynamic between the trio is messy, magnetic, and impossible to look away from.
If you like paranormal romance, high-energy storytelling, and an MFM relationship that delivers on both heat and heart, this book is a guaranteed good time. Let yourself enjoy the ride.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️ This was a great ending for the series and I loved that we got cameos from past characters. The storyline itself was good but the plot was missing something extra. The ending also felt a little rushed and the spice was limited.
Overall I’m glad Opal got her HEA and I was happy to learn more about her character! 💖
I’ve gone off the multiple partners/reverse harem trope, and very nearly stopped reading Opal, Dorian and Atlas’s story because of it…but, there was just something about Opal’s story that was a little bit sweet. Having Dorian and Atlas at odds, made the story a little bit more relatable, and offset the high spice level.
The Omega was a great book. The characters were developed & detailed. They fix together very well. The plot takes place in several places but each time you can imagine it. The supporting people did their jobs well. I can't wait for more of this. this world is a great way to escape.
To give credit this story is good. For me i like a little more to the story. This story is more of a quick love story, not like the first few of the series which was more entertaining. I still enjoyed the story but it was not much for me to get into.
This was a great ending for the series and I loved that we got cameos from a lot of the past characters. This author has made this world beautiful, enraging, and full of characters that came alive on her pages. Sad to see it come to an end.
I cried my eyes out!!! Opal, Dorian, and Atlas are the perfect trio! I just loved how they put their differences aside to make Opal’s H.E.A come true!!
Good book, loved Opal's wolf and how much she loves HEAs! ...and her naughty personality! So funny. I wish there were more about Cindy and her finding a wolf to match her own.
Outcast Omega opal returns to Mating Season to try and find her mates. mfm why choose, good spice. Good conclusion to the series. Advanced reader copy review
This one kind of fell flat for me too. I’m glad Opal got her HEA but man was it rough getting there and still awkward at the end. I loved the series as a whole but much preferred the original trilogy
Really wanted to like this story. Love Opal but the characters just didn't develop enough and the back story to make you like them and understand them all came out as a rush at the end.
Absolutely phenomenal ending for this series!! Heather Carson you nailed it!! Opal has a different experience than most of the shifters and she should as she has different needs. When she suddenly locates and identifies she has two mates and then finds out they know AND don't like each other , it becomes a challenge for her to not end up devastated like a situation with her mother had . This has been a great read and a wonderful ending for this series, definitely 10 stars for this one!!
