Somnium Wastes (Provenance: A Cultivation Story
Gally and his friends travel South, beyond the Fortification, deep into the Somnium Empire.
It seems that Emperor Somnos himself ordered the attack on the North so that he may steal Neshai, the wind golem kept in the depths of Wind’s Embrace since his creation. Though, even this seemingly simple and single-minded golem may have a deeper and astonishing history than the heroes think they know. Deep in enemy territory, with the very prize the Emperor craves, Gally and his friends must travel as carefully as possible, which proves difficult with a massive golem in tow.
As Gally and his friends begin to unlock the secrets of the Utility Rank, they find themselves in constant danger, their lives hanging by a thread, not just from the Nightmares hunting them, but also the harsh reality of a seemingly endless desert with its own secrets to hide.
There’s still so much for these young Dreamers to learn, and the desolate wasteland of the Somnium Empire might just be the best, and the most treacherous, instructor of them all.

Really enjoyed this second volume of the Provenance series and looking forward to the next book. The is only a quick followup to the review of first book. I found it an easier read, perhaps because I got into his style. Great adventures, lots of descriptive fighting scenes with different tools for each of the characters. Not normally to my taste, but include the journeys and other adventures, it kept me very engaged.
