I still have so many questions 🙃 but it is all related to a specific character and the fact we didn't get closure?? Is this a possible hint that they could be getting their own book?? I hope so.
This book immediately picks up where book 1 left off and everyone is scrambling to find Madelena and the mystery of what happened. I had my theories back in book 1 and the more I thought about it, the more it all made sense.
Watching the progression of Madelena and Santos was great - despite the few hiccups and mistrusts they ended up becoming better versions of each other for each other.
We get more answers about what went on years ago with Santos and what he truly was made to do and how/why it all ended.
I don't want to give too much away because it will obviously spoil the twists and reveals but just know it's a messed up one. I had NO sympathy for any of them and I honestly wanted a more permanent solution to the problem (you'll know what I mean) but I know Santos didn't want it on his conscious so I will let go of his designated punishment.
I also thought somehow a certain someone from Madelena's past would redeem themselves, but you live and learn to just take people as they are. (And I don't mean her dad, he is trash).
As I mentioned before I wonder if we will be getting more books in this world since I will obviously read it but I guess time will tell if Natasha blesses us with it.
"She belongs to me as much as I belong to her. And I will destroy anyone who tries to hurt her - who tries to take her from me."
After the insane cliffy at the end of the first book, I was dying to get my hands on the second part... Too many things were happening behind Santos' back and I needed to uncover everything for the redemption both of me and our heroes'!!! Mrs. Knight gave us another one crazy and wild ride full of suspense, intensity and fast pace... I devoured this book cause the agony was to much to bare!! And yes, we took many brutal answers here, but I think that the author is own us some more, so I believe that a third book is in order. Don't you think???
"Your enemy is much closer to home. In his veins is the blood of a monster."
I don't want to reveal many things about the plot cause I wouldn't want to ruin the experience for those who are interested to read it!! Santos and Madelena had a tough beginning and the revelations are hitting them with a mighty force and they have the ability to leave them in ruins!!! At the same time, their love are growing stronger, but a dark shadow is looming over them and they need to fight with everything they have, if they want to reach their HEA... The betrayal and the hits were onslaughting, especially for Santos and honestly, at some point I was afraid of his sanity... My poor heart was aching for these two that managed to find something beautiful inside an arranged marriage.... But peace is a far away dream if they don't find who is after them!!!
"Whatever this is between us, I don't want to lose it. I don't want to lose him."
I enjoyed very much the second part... It was very intense and it had me on the edge of my seat all the time... I won't lie to you that I didn't miss a little bit the connection between our main couple, but I can understand that they had too many ugly things to deal with in here and the romance part took a backseat. Yes, I had taken many answers that I was searching for in here, but some pieces are still missing... and I am really hoping that this will be fixed with a new story... Hell!!! I really need another one story or ten!!! I really loved this cruel and painful world!!!
"You're mine and I'm yours."
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
This story had so many twist, turns & mystery in it that kept your head spinning. Santos now the head of his father's organization was doomed from the start, who falls in love with their family enemy...revenge was the plan his family had. But that was never Santos deal from the moment him and Madelena was bonded by the blood oath he wanted to keep her and protect her from any danger unlike he did with his first love Alexia. With the words his father left "I know what you did, and this is your punishment" Santos was in a race to find the meaning.
My only issue is they never explained what really happened to Santos friend Thiago. Was he actually sending messages leading him to all the clues or was it the sister Camilla so any unanswered questions, hopefully there is be another book with Thiago story or even Camilla. Awesome read Natasha Knight is my one click author because you are guaranteed to walk away satisfied.
"She belongs to me as much as I belong to her. And I will destroy anyone who tries to hurt her— who tries to take her from me."
I really enjoyed reading Santos & Madelena's story. It was captivating and full of suspense. The storyline was great. There's passion, romance, heartache, mystery and it's guaranteed to keep you hooked! The characters were strong and complex. One thing is certain, you are never going to get bored reading any book that Natasha has written. She has delivered yet another mafia romance with a fast paced plot, great chemistry between the main characters and a new world which will leave you wanting to uncover more!
“That is my mercy . It’s more than you deserve.” Here comes the conclusion to the Augustine Brothers series. Deliver Me From Evil continues on the same path as the first opus, taking us for a wild ride that left me a tad breathless. There was an element in this story that I didn't care much for, and that is why I didn't give the five stars, but otherwise, this story kept me thrilled and enthralled all along. Fast-paced, twisted, I liked how Mrs Knight played with the dark AND the more gentle (but no less intense) parts. The equilibrium was subtle and refreshing. One of her best executions.
After the massive cliffhanger ending in book one I was left with so many questions and desperate to get my hands on this book. So now here I am, only about an hour after finishing this read, and all of my questions were answered but at what cost. The view I had of one of my favorite characters got flipped upside down and I really got to see the way that old family secrets can come back to haunt you.
The revelations? Shocking. The romance? Surprisingly sweet. The family relationships? So messed up. But the ending? As happy as Santos and Madalena are going to get (I’m actually very happy with the ending).
I think this series is officially the one that converted me to a mafia romance lover. I need more and I am so happy that I took a chance, stepped out of my comfort zone, and found something I really enjoy.
Deliver Me From Evil is the conclusion to Santos and Madelena's story and still I felt like something was missing. I found myself so frustrated with this couple I wanted to shake them both. Santos is supposed to be the head of the family and a strong man but in reality, he was incompetent. The villains were so obvious to everyone but Santos and I felt cheated on their end. I also didn't feel that the relationship between Santos and Madelena grew enough for me to actually care about them. Every time Madelena was in trouble or needed something Santos was nowhere to be found. Overall, while this one didn't work for me, I do like this author and will check out the other books she has on KU.
She did it again! So many twists and turns, but then, when the pieces all fell together, you realized it was right there in front of you the whole time. These two haven’t had an easy life, but in they slowly learned to trust and rely on each other. Good thing too, because they were the only ones they could, as everyone else was suspect. A fabulous conclusion and it kept me guessing on the edge of my seat until the very end!
Epically brilliant! Dangerous and deadly! What a journey Ms. Knight continues to take us on with this second book and conclusion to this story. The Author can write suspense and twists with her eyes closed. This one brings out all the stops and holds nothing back. Another brilliant story!
Book 1 was better and I’m a little disappointed by that, because the ending of the first book was gearing me up for drama and confrontation and I personally feel like all of that came too late in this book. It was dragged out and Santos kept repeating the same patterns and coming to the same ignorant conclusions, the communication between madelena and him was limited and a little dry and their relationship just didn’t seem to flow as well as the 1st book. Now the plot, this is what kept me hooked because even though I could deduce the main twist, the way it was delivered did keep me on edge quite well, the realisation process for santos in the main build up was engaging and riveting. I just wish it had come sooner. Multiple scenes felt so unnecessary and I’m sorry but the bracelet dillema should not have been as substantial or repeated as it was, I understand he was hesitant to believe it was caius who was the bad guy but COME ON, santos is by no means a dumb character but he definitely felt super dumb then because despite seeing indisputable evidence, it was the same cycle. Side note: I was so confused by camilla’s role in this because ultimately she just confused things and her only purpose was giving madelena the photo at the end? The ending build up was well paced however and I’m so glad for it because I was at my wits end. It felt urgent and dramatic which is exactly what I was hoping for, the chills I got at the reveals were EXACTLY what I was hoping for. And I think it was at the end in the final few chapters we got to see the version of Santos and Madelena we were originally introduced to. Throughout this book their personalities weren’t consistent until this moment. The ending was the saving grace for this book.
I absolutely loved the first book in this duet featuring the wonderful Madelena and Santos, and this was the perfect conclusion to their intriguing, unique and complex story. All the mysteries, suspense and secrets kept me so engaged and desperate to know everything. The unique romance between these characters made me feel EVERYTHING. I love the unique twists that the author put on this mafia/arranged marriage romance. I love the relationship between this couple, they are tragically beautiful, imperfect and so incredibly well matched in every way. I love them together so much. I love that they understand each other deeply, they definitely give me all the swoony energy of fated soulmates. They are a new favorite romance couple for me, they have that special something that makes me adore them together and they will stay in my mind and heart. It has such a wonderful gothic atmosphere and the writing is a pleasure to read. There’s beauty amongst the pain and darkness. I love that juxtaposition, it made this book and duet so incredible. It’s one of my favorite duets this year. I don’t want to spoil anything. If you like suspense, unique, complex characters and interesting storylines this a must read!
WOW!!! EXHILARATING (・o・) What a conclusion!!! 5 STARS!!! HOLY WOW!!! I am sitting here with my mouth hanging open. Every character made this story so unpredictable and angsty. The romance between Santos and Madelena is sexy and I love how they developed and fell in love despite everything but it's all the other factors in this duet that had me glued to this story. So Good! So Amazingly Thrilling!!!!
I just cannot get enough of Natasha's stories, everytime I think she can't possibly outdo herself or think up fresh new twists, she totally blows me away! The mistress of breadcrumbs that leave me needing to do a whole re read because all the pieces of the puzzle were right there in front of me the WHOLE DAMN TIME!
Is this duet predictable? Absolutely. Was is still fantastic? Absolutely again.
I couldn’t stop reading even though I knew what was going on and who was playing who. Madelena is caught in the crosshairs between Santo’s and his family. Everyone was just a pawn in a bigger game. For power, money, revenge, vengeance.
How far would you go for the ones you love? Would you kill? Murder innocents? Your own family?
The lies, secrets, and betrayal come out in the conclusion of this duet. Yes to HEA.
I’m of course wondering if other characters may get a book? 🫣🤣🩶
1. This book didn’t need to be split into TWO books 2. The first book gave it away.. the mom and his half brother are evil.. spoiler alert , no matter how much the author tried to divert the attention elsewhere.. it was obvious ! Such a pointless plot/// all that death and headache for years for what evelyn !? So stupid . 3. The FMC is the most annoying and obnoxious character I’ve ever read about 4. This book DID NOT need to be a SERIES 5. Justice for my boo Thiago lol
Plot Summary : Madelena always knew her husband was a bad man. She knew he would somehow manipulate her and he did. If only she had not trusted him that much. Santo is not the man he says . He has lied to her again and again and now he might be the very reason for the biggest incident of her life.
Santo knows he will cross all boundaries if it means keeping Madelena with him. No matter how much she hates him or how much she wants to run away , there is no choice. This is for life and death and there is no way he is letting her go.
Overall Opinion : The second installment for this duet is here! I have been absolutely dying to read this one after that ending and I'm so glad to say that I loved it a lot. Santo and Madelena are absolutely in love and I am completely Obsessed! Moreover there is one side character whose story I won't mind getting as well.
The book picks off where the first one left is and there is a lot of angst and confusion in the starts but the real suspense starts when things soothe over. I loved how Natasha kept me in suspense because even though I had an idea about who the villain was , there were some twists I did not see coming which made the ending reveal even better.
Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there!
I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I am rating this book 4.5 stars. I kind of wanted more from this conclusion some things I was really hoping I was wrong about and others I was hoping were not true. I am curious about the avert twins. Hoping there is more to come there. I wanted Santos to be kind of darker and Madelina to be tougher.
After that shocking ending Madelena breakdown and shocking actions. Santos is not ready for the women he married, and having her trust may never come.
Santos has been the most complicated hero, he has remorse and feels for everyone he loves. When he loves, there’s not a thing he won’t do to protect them. After learning more about Santos and when he lived with the commander and how he found salvation it helps explain a lot. A lot of family secrets are revealed especially the one that tied Santos and Madelena together. It was unexpected and heartbreaking! Santos and Caius and their mother have been on all opposite sides with a big secret hidden. Madelena has been caught up and with her past in the mix everything felt overwhelming. It felt good the see Madelena step up and deal with her emotions, versus to how she handled her emotions. This is Santos story and his time to confront present and past while build a family.
Kindle Unlimited: Yes Stand-alone: No- Augustine Brothers #2 Author: Natasha Knight Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Spiciness Rating: 3/5 🌶 POV: First Person Dual Perspective Main Couple: Santos and Madelena Trope(s): Arranged Marriage, Age-Gap, Dark Suspense
“He sucks in a ragged breath. I look back to watch him and I can’t look away. He’s beautiful and powerful and my submission in this moment, this offering of myself, it’s like a sacrifice at an altar. The feeling of giving myself over to him, it’s indescribable and somehow freeing and more. So much more.”
This is the second book in the Augustine Brother’s Series. Books need to be read in order. Suspense upon suspense upon suspense. From the first words it does not stop. Just when you think you know, Natasha fakes left and the questions just keep coming. Until the last chapters do you really know for sure. What a dark ride down the rabbit hole, but man did this book deliver. Santos and Madelena kicked up the sexy and found their way out of the darkness. Leaving me wondering if we will meet again.
We pick up where Forgive Me My Sins left us literally on a ledge. Santos finds Madelena unconscious in the Lighthouse. When she recounts the events and Thiago’s involvement the mystery deepens.
Santos gives Madelena the hard truths surrounding her uncle’s death. He knows the only way for them to move forward is by learning to trust one another. Sharing secrets will do that.
But, there are those around them who would be happier if some truths never came to light. Planting seeds of doubt as they go. Just as there are those in the shadows shining the light. As Santos follows the trail no one is prepared for him uncovering all the deceptions going back decades.
Few days ago I finished ARC and couldn't wait to have this book also in pbk - Natasha Knight totally knows how to make my eyes happy lol NOT ONLY because breathtaking stories to read but also thanks to the covers. This girl on pbk looks so much like Madelena in head, also ... how awesome they look side by side to each other!
After mother of all cliffhangers in book 1, I thought I'm ready for everything.... BUT Natasha another time proved me wrong. For the most part of Deliver Me From Evil I couldn't find my answers, more and more questions were showing up, but still at the end ? Natasha played me another millionth time, delivering plot twist that had blown my mind, literally. I was suspecting something, and my head was full of theories what will happen next, but .. with every next event I felt more unsure how everything will end. Past and present collide in Madelena's life, dirty family secrets aren't easy to manage. My heart was breaking for her, but I'm glad she find her way to happiness.
Natasha couldn't do anything wrong with her addictive storytelling. This book is packed with action, intense chemistry and tons of love. Deliver Me From Evil, just like book no 1, was amazing - stories like that I can read 24/7.
