In the hills of West Virginia, Elizabeth Fielding finds herself in a mid-life crisis. Her entire world has turned upside down and she is left pondering what, exactly, her purpose in life truly is. On her son's suggestion, she escapes to Holmes County, Ohio and finds herself living on an Amish farm. While she tries to regain a life that has been lost, she finds herself gaining a lot more than she ever previously had. An unexpected friendship with Mary Troyer proves to be pivotal in how Elizabeth views the world around her, this time with the wisdom and insight of an Amish woman, rather than the demands and expectations of a world filled with work, demands, and hardships.

A full-length novel, Life Regained is the first book in a series about the power of friendship that shatters the perceived boundaries of different cultures and religions.

Good Book

I enjoyed reading Just Elizabeth's story and kealing more about the Amish people and culture. I did feel that the book ending was a bit rushed and not completely resolved. I would have liked for Elizabeth to have had more of a resolution in her relationships with her children. Overall, it was a good read.

A new author for me

I enjoy reading about the Amish. Their love for God, family and minimalistic lifestyle. This book touched me in many ways. Stresses that you are stronger than you think you are. Find a new purpose for your life. Find a new reason for peace and quiet in your hectic life or maybe in your time of sorrow. I will definitely read more books by this author.

Sad to see it end

I truly enjoyed this book and am so sad to see it end. The storyline, the main character, Elizabeth, the supporting characters seemed so real.
This is my first book by these authors, but it most assuredly will not be my last.

Life regained is a very heartwarming story written by Sarah Price. This story takes the reader on a journey with a lady after the death of her husband. When she finds herself in the grips of grief she decides to do what will help her get on with her life.

The characters are very likeable and realistic. I enjoyed all the characters except for Elizabeth's two children who don't seem to care about their mother. Mary, an Amish, women is a key factor in what Elizabeth does and a most unlikely friendship ensues. This story really gave me a lot to think about if I would ever be in this situation. The author has done an amazing job telling this story.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached by anyone to post a favorable review. I have rated this book with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Congratulations to Sarah Price on writing such a wonderful story that could really help others.

Another fantastic read written by Sarah Price & Whoopie Pie Pam Jarrell. These two authors know how to write a book. They know how to give us readers enough detail to intertwine with the story to make it flow smoothly.

Life Regained is just that regaining one's life; whether it's after a tragedy, a loss of a spouse, maybe something simple as an empty nester, or while going through a divorce. Life has twists and turns, it's how we handle those twists and turns that make a difference. Who is in your corner to help through each new twist and turn?

Lastly, I wanted more when I got to the end. I fell in love with the characters.

Elizabeth Fielding is in her 50's and recently widowed. She finds she doesn't know who she is anymore having always defined herself as a mother and a wife. After sitting in the house for 7 months grieving and waiting for her adult children to call and visit, she decided to go visit Holmes County, Ohio and enjoy the peace she had enjoyed in Amish Country. There she finds friends who help guide her transition to finding and discovering who she is as an individual. I enjoyed this book. Having been through that empty nester stage, I had no problem relating to her journey. Good story of hope and renewal.

Great Read

I thought this book was a great read How Mary overcame the loss of her husband and then finally taking that trip to see how the Amish lived which they no different than the Englisdh and the kind word of Mary and how she blended with them and how she found herself and stop blaming herself and let God guide her.I look forward to read more books from this author.

Life versus inertia

Thoroughly enjoyed this exploration of the challenge of being authentic and truly living one's own life versus taking the expected path. Well written and am looking forward to the next book in the series.
