This book starts out fast and doesn't let you go!

This book starts out fast and doesn't let you go! The pacing is fantastic and you're constantly moving from one nail biting scene to another while still having a great character development and growth.

This book is intense and the intrigue going on will have you guessing with every page turn.

Ivy is resilient and spunky and ready to help fight for what's right.

Orion is every dreamy MMC but better from page one and I especially loved uncovering his secrets.

I loved the insights via the side character POVs that heightened the stakes.

The romance was 🔥🔥 and WOW! That first kiss scene 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I loved it so much!

💋Kisses only - no spice
⚠️Loss of family, some wounds, grief, punky family drama.

Slowly paced with multiple povs makes this just an okay read. It does start to pick up at the end, but comes to a jarring halt with a massive cliffhanger. The grammar mistakes bring it down as well.

For my clean readers: language-some, but no f-bombs. Violence-fighting, attempted murder, murder, political assassinations, and poisoning. Romance-kissing.

Elven House of Ivy

An exciting action-packed adventure full of magic, mystery, and loads of mayhem. There were a ton of unpredictable twists and turns throughout the whole story and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I loved all the various creatures and figuring out how everything fit together. There were lots of schemes, betrayals, and lies and I can’t wait to see where things go from here especially with that cliff-hanger ending!

Ivy was a fierce female who only wanted to do the right thing.
Orion was a swoon-worthy protector caught between two worlds so to speak. I enjoyed his character the most! I can’t wait to see more of him!

There were loads of awesome tropes in here like: elves, fae, creatures, adventure, action-packed, high stakes, enemies to allies to ??, slow-burn, royalty, and much much more!

This was ALMOST a really great book.

It had a nice variety of likeable characters. Good writing. A really nice plot: bordering on epic, fix-the-world's-problems, plenty of political intrigue, the romance is kept as a side plot instead of main feature.

But I didn't understand the worldbuilding and backstory, which prevented me from making my own judgements on anything. This a complex world, filled with many magical species and a complicated history (most notably featuring THE WAR, of which we know little except it was between elves and humans and humans won), but little is explained about each particular race, where they live, their interrelations, etc., and so I couldn't make my own judgements if what the characters were doing was really for the good of the world or not. I just had to trust main character = good, anything working against main character = bad.

Honestly, I was really disappointed because this book had so MUCH going for it. I really liked the writing and all the action in the plot. I kept hoping that the missing pieces would get filled in, and some did. But as the plot marched on to new places and/or people groups, many more questions were left unanswered. Ultimately, I gave up at about 75% because I couldn't keep track anymore of what the characters were trying to achieve, and the plot seemed to be heading towards some huge conflict for a big cliffhanger ending and I wanted no part in that.

I can picture this book really appealing to some readers, unfortunately it just didn't work for me.

Content: Clean. Physical violence. Maybe some in-world language? Romance as far as I read was pining only

Thank you so much to @kristinimagines and @bookofmatchesmedia for my gifted Advanced Reader Copy of 𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐈𝐕𝐘! This review is comprised entirely of my own thoughts & opinions, & is based on the copy I received.

Ahhhhh!! I loved this book! Elven House of Ivy is an epic fantasy romance that completely enthralled me from the very moment I started reading it. We start in the action and it doesn’t stop. I loved how fantastical it was with all the different creatures, and the insane amount of world building we get in the beginning! It was so 𝑖𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑣𝑒 and detailed, and Kristin painted such a vivid picture that I could see so clearly in my mind. It really felt like the makings of an incredible series to come, and I just loved everything about it! Wonderful characters, plot twists and turns with political intrigue, and a slow burn enemies to lovers romance were the cherries on top of this amazing read that I can’t stop thinking about!

Ivy is an amazing FMC and I love how sassy and fierce she is. Orion is such a dreamy and swoon worthy MMC and I love how vulnerable he becomes when he’s around Ivy. I am so intrigued by his character and his secrets! I loved the slow burn romance between them with the enemies to lovers elements, their chemistry was just on point and I loved them so much!

While this book does have romance, I would definitely consider it as more of a subplot with epic fantasy being the main genre - there’s so much world building and political intrigue that really gripped me and made me so invested to find out what happens! The betrayals and plot twist had me so immersed in the story and with the cliffhanger ending we have in this one, I absolutely cannot wait to find out what happens in the next book!

Overall, I definitely recommend this one! Especially if you’re looking for a new series to fall in love with!

A wild ride of betrayal, hidden identities, corruption at the highest level, and let's throw in a little bit of forbidden romance!

This book started out hot with a high-stakes chase scene and it never really slowed down from there. There are multiple POVs that make this story SO fun. We even get villain POVs (but I won't tell you who it is 😉). I loved getting to see the inner workers of so many characters.

Our two main characters are Ivy and Orion. I loved these two so much, and I want more of them.

I love Ivy's character. She can be sassy and strong but she's also open to her vulnerabilities and is okay with that too.

Orion, bless him....says he is a big strong man but he crumbles awwwwfully quick when it comes to Ivy. Just saying....

The world building is simple enough to understand it right at the beginning, but there are bits and pieces of world expansion throughout that make the story very digestible and still exciting.

I will be pacing back and forth waiting for the next installment, Kristin!

Overall: Recommend!

I want to say this was the first book I have read by this author and I am so happy I did, because now I want more books from them. I do appreciate the character list in the beginning so it helped me with outlining them in my head before I actually started to read. Now on to the book. I do not want to give too much away, this book is fast. So much starts off and it got me hooked right away to the point I felt like I inhaled it. The world building and the depths we find Ivy and Orion in. There is no spice, but honestly it fits the book because of how the characters are and I love it. Ivy being a sassy FMC but also has weakness we see then Orion, that guy would do anything for Ivy. The betrayals would keep me guessing and that darn cliff hanger got me needing book two like crazy. I cannot wait to see where this series goes!

Elven House of Ivy is Book 1 in the Realms of Alysatraee series and WOW! Thank you so much Kristin and BOMM for my arc! I'm def a fan and already can't wait for Book 2!!

This is an action-packed, fast-paced story that doesn't scrimp on the character growth or world building! There's magic, slow burn romance, mystery, and betrayal! I love when some of the twists and turns take you by surprise! I adore our strong, sassy FMC Ivy and our new book boyfriend Orion!

Pick this up if you love:
Enemies to allies to ...?, Hidden royal, Thieving pocket dragon, Magical trees and life-saving seeds, Elves, fae, orcs, gnomes, and more fantastical creatures, Corrupted, zombie-like humans, Human and fae realms on the brink of war, Portals, Dual POVs.

I found this book to be very interesting, and definitely one that sucked me into the story. A few times I felt a little lost because there were quite a few moving parts and characters. But everything began to come together nicely. Ivy and Orion I really loved together. Their dynamic and chemistry was really well written. The overall storyline was well done, but does leave me with a lot of questions that I hope are answered in the next book. This book does end on a cliffhanger so be warned. This was definitely what I would consider an epic fantasy with an in depth magic system and expansive world building. There is an enemies to lovers vibe that was nice, as well as a hint of fated destiny that was intriguing. Overall, a good fantasy read!

This book was a slow start for me and I really had to push myself to read it. The world building took some time, and maybe I just didn’t have the patience for so many different magical creatures with different abilities and “rules.”

BUT- I’m glad I stuck it out because after about the 40% mark, I sped through the rest of the book. The romance is slow burn, the political intrigue got really twisted (who do you trust?), and now I’m fully invested. I will definitely pick up the next book when it comes out. This one ended in a cliff hanger.

The book started off a bit slow for me, but the world-building was pretty straightforward. Having a character index in the first few pages was super helpful until I got the hang of who everyone was. There are a ton of magical creatures with complex powers, and I loved learning about them. If you’re looking for romance, beware this is a slow-burn. I thought the political twists were intense. I got pretty hooked on Ivy's adventure with fae, elves, and all sorts of magic! The story was packed with action, betrayal, and mystery, which kept me captivated. I’m already dying to get my hands on the next book, especially after that cliffhanger!.

Oh my, I loved this book! How could I resist a book with elves, fae, magic, and a dragon?

Ivy's story is one of adventure, betrayal, mystery, and so much more. She is joined by a cast of characters that kept me wondering about their motives throughout the book.

Elven House of Ivy is action-packed and filled with twists and turns that kept me up past midnight. The moment I closed the book, I wondered when the next one would be available. It was that good.

Elves, dragons and fae!

Gripping story of deceit, loyalty, loyalties questioned and major upheaval. Fast paced and full of twists. Amid all of this, A slow burn romance blossoms. Great clean read!

I have a soft spot for epic fantasy novels. And Elven House of the Ivy hit every mark for a top read of the year for me.

The world building was so intricate and immersive. I truly felt a part of the story. We learn everything during a lot of the action so the plot is never lost in translation. This was also a different take on elven/fae lore and I really liked seeing both sides and how they compliment each other.

I heavily enjoyed the magic system and how everyone seemed to be able to do different things. I’m hoping that aspect is explored more in the future because it was so fascinating!

Our FMC, Ivy, is so multifaceted that it was just so easy to love her. Poor girl has been through it and continues to go through it the ENTIRE story. Girl could not catch a break, but the strength the exhibits is unmatched.

As this is an epic fantasy, there isn’t any major romance. But the slow burn is superb with beautiful tension and just as things start heating up, we’re slapped right in the face with a cliffhanger.

This is in my top five of the year and I am SCREAMING for book two! Now I just need a shelf trophy 😍

I don’t know where to begin. The author wrote an intricate story about the fair folk and elves. It quickly dove in but was paced so well.
Ivy, I can’t help but to admire with her brave persona and moving forward through everything she faced. The whole premise on the corruption of the seeds was so well put together! I love that the book focused on the story telling and adventure rather than the romantic aspect, BUT Orion and Ivy deserve more time together!
Orion I felt has been so much through child I can’t even begin to imagine being used as a pawn for political advantage. There is so much more to this book, also the cliffhanger was so rude. I cannot wait to read book 2. I’m definitely going to be recommending this book!.
