Okay so first off, I think I like this book better than the first. I'm dying to know what happens in the third book. I can't wait for it to come out!
Secondly, I Knew Victor was going to be a little bitch and turn on her!! I fucking knew it! Ugh, I hate him!

Emotional - Full of violence, happiness and heartbreak
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶
So if you've read book 1, one of the MMC from that book is the MMC in this one. This time it's him and another MMC and a secondary character from the first book that's now the FMC. This book follows roughly the same timeline as the first book and you get lots of cross-over scenes. It's MFM, (kind of #whychoose but also not... certainly a simple throuple!)
Book 1 you could read as a standalone, but to read this book and the next, you need to read the book 1 first! This book does have a cliffhanger that follows on to book 3. Most people probably won't see the cliffhanger coming... Some of us who can see the signs, it wasn't that surprising. Definitely makes you want to pick your favourite MMC if you hadn't already... I already had 😅
There's so many plot twists and turns. It's full of suspense! Not as much from the BDSM scene in this book compared to the first but there's still a steady stream of them exploring their kinks with one another. Plot wise, it's fantastic! FMC is a badass - However, she's portrayed less and less badass and more an emotional wreck throighout. I guess she does so through assassination attempts, loss of those close to her and heartbreak so can't exactly blame her, but it's like she forgets some of her training... I really hope book 3 helps to get her back to being the same strong woman again.
It follows the Mafia/Bratva lives of the young people next in line... How messed up their lives are and what they have to put up with. It is emotional and discusses torture off page, in regards to adults and minors. Also alot of trauma and PTSD shown on and off page.
I'm hooked on the story and can't wait to read book 3!

IM UNWELL
the way this book had me in a chokehold is no joke. I seriously was invested in the characters backstories and how everything connected. Truly, if book three doesn’t come out soon imma bout to crash out. I love Ash and Jaymes story so far and where there story is heading.
I think my favorite part of the book was just Ash and Jaymes banter. The way they flirted and interacted was just so well thought out and I appreciate how it was written. With that being said, I’ve spent quite I bit of time talking to the author of this masterpiece and I think she put it best “girl just wait for book 3, ur gonna die” and to that I say, I will accept the death. 💀😂😂
Here is the ONLY small thing I wish I would’ve seen more of. Ash is very skilled and has spent so long training her body to be a weapon. With that being said, I wish I got to see a little more of her badass fighting skills put to use! Other than that? No notes. 😮💨

This book overlaps the previous story in Roll for Initiative. To fully understand what's happening, I think you have to read the first book. It is a great read, and I definitely recommend it.
"Deception" tells Jayme's story, and I was so excited to see what we'd get from him in this book. It did not disappoint. You see what was going on when Lucian and Cassie were otherwise occupied after the Theo incident from book one. We also find out much more about their friend Ash and her connection with Jayme. Then there's Victor. I don't want to spoil anything, but from the start, I wanted Victor to walk off a cliff. I just got bad vibes from that guy.
I loved this book, even though at times, there were parts I wanted to scream at the pages. Stories that cause high emotional responses from me are usually the most enjoyable. Not only did I want to scream in anger, but I also cried and laughed reading this book. It’s a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for Book 3!

Kalia Rose has once again delivered a masterpiece that will leave you wanting more! She’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! I love that she brings up Ash & Jayme’s past, with still tying it in with the first book “ Roll With Initiative”. The plot keeps reeling you in. This book has a good amount of 🌶️ and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s a dark tale of power, love, and obsession in a mafia world. If you're looking for a book that will consume you, "Roll for Deception" is it. From start to finish, this book is 5 ⭐️ for me!

Do you like long lost loves? Mafia? Touch her and die vibes? How about the movie animated Anastasia? Then Roll for Deception is for you, just note you need to read Roll for Initiative (also really good) to understand the characters in this one.
I kept picking this one up trying to finish it but with it being cold and flu season that made it impossible. We finally made it though and oh my goodness I am running for Roll for Survival. Jayme, Ash, Victor what are you doing to me???

I’m so obsessed! 😍 I read book 1 and was immediately drawn in. The books connect, but this book follows the other MMC from book 1 and the FMC is a sort of background character in book 1, she’s mentioned and she’s the best friend of the FMC from book 1. The cliffhanger ending had me immediately jumping into the next book before writing this review😅😂 10/10 stars!! The timeline lined up with the first book without feeling like reading the same book because it was different viewpoints and people ❤️ I AM OBSESSED🥰

Such a great read, there is some crossover from book 1 so I would definitely recommend reading roll for initiative where we first meet these characters.
This book keeps the energy going from book 1 with Jayme. He was always a favourite and I loved reading his story and the romance brewing between him and Ashley.
This book will get you screaming, among other things. Quick warning - this book does end on a cliffhanger! but I can’t wait for book 3.

WHEW! Buckle up because Kalia Rose has done it again! It’s so rare I find a book that keeps me on my toes from the first few chapters and she has now done it twice! The suspense! The action! And a completely badass MFC!! And Jayme?! Him and Ash are the perfect couple forged from the fires of hell. The trauma. The truly raw gut wrenching emotions. And the end?! Absolutely cannot wait for book 3!!

Y'all I can't with this series, it is such an emotional rollercoaster.. but it is sooo freaking worth it!! what I love most about this book was the character development, there were a few times where I did struggle reading a little bit but honestly.. that is what I loved most, the story makes you feel EVERYTHING. This series is NOT for the faint of heart. It is very dark so please, check the trigger warnings list before reading.

This book sucked me in and kept me wanting for more. Love the characters and the little bits of their history that make this book so captivating. You will absolutely gasp more than once reading this . I thought I loved the last books characters the most but nope I think I love these ones even more. Every thing about this read was an A+. From start to finish, this book will keep you on your toes. If you think you know about a character and what’s coming next, you really don’t. This book played with so many of my emotions, at the end I literally yelled out loud. Kalia truly has a way of amercing you into her world, making you feel safe, then rips the rug right out from under you in the most thrilling way. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, although I may need to use all three of my saving throws to get through all of the emotions again.

Kalia, the rollercoaster you sent me on with this book. I was not what I expected after book one, but it wasn't this. Jayme and Ashley's story had me laughing, crying, wishing I was Ashley (because dang Jayme seems like a good time), and more. Learning more about their backstories also had me even more invested in these characters that I loved from book 1! But can we freaking talk about Viktor?! I didn't like him from the beginning, and I think my hunch may be right... I need book 3, and I need to know how you are going to wrap this series up.

Once again she has never failed to amaze me! As much as i loved book 1 i definitely had fallen in love with Jayme and this book has made me love him every more!! Ash is perfect for him i love the banter between them this book is EVERYTHING and more…I need book 3 like NOW!
