“The Mediterranean diet isn’t about perfection or restrictions - it’s about balance, flexibility, and making each meal a celebration of nature’s bounty.” (pg 171)

To begin with, the subtitle is not accurate - this is definitely not a cookbook for beginners. There’s not a single picture for any recipe, no quantities are given for spices, (they are mostly left off the recipe as an optional item because they interfere with the 5 ingredient list), baked goods recipes look suspect with baking powder being listed as optional and there are no tips, tricks or explanations beyond very
basic instructions.

Author, Barbara Glisson, does give good pantry set up guidance and tips on food preparation and storage. Beyond that, you’ll need to have experience. Competent cooks will find a nice assortment of recipes to work from and be able to enhance the seasoning based on their own palette and list of most commonly used spices.

A no frills cookbook with decent recipes, (perhaps excluding the baked desserts), for well equipped cooks📚
