I built my life to keep people out. Up here on the mountain, I can carve wood, breathe the fresh air, and pretend the world doesn’t exist. But then the loneliness got louder than the silence. So I did something reckless. I ordered a mail-order bride. Now Paige is here, with her curves, her bright smile, and a kindness I don’t know what to do with. She’s everything I didn’t plan for—and everything I don’t know how to hold on to. Because the second she steps into my cabin, it’s obvious this is going to be a lot harder than I thought. And I’m not sure I can be the kind of man she wants.

Hawk is a recluse. Very antisocial, he lives at the top of the mountain where he is a wood carving artist. He is lonely and seeks a mail order bride. Paige is from a small town and recently lost her job. Her parents aren’t very supportive so she joins a mail order bride website. Hawk is very standoffish at first but slowly warms to Paige. These two start off rocky but as time progresses we see love bloom between the two of them. Paige seems to smooth Hawk out Of his grumpiness. Sweet read.
A really sweet story. Hawk meets Paige online and they find that they just might be good for each other. When Paige arrives at Hawks cabin she finds that maybe she made a mistake coming. He is a lot more of a hermit than she realized. However after time spent together they are perfect for each other.
This was a great read. Paige was a mail order bride by Hawk. But it was love at first sight even though he kept to himself. No disappointment whatsoever in this book
A mail order bride... this was a first for me, which was surprising. It was actually adorable to watch them navigate what I can only imagine would be a super intense, awkward situation. Especially when one of the two , cough Hawk cough, is a grumpy mountain recluse 🤣. This was a fun read.
