"How can love disappear, or was it never really there?"
Few things are as universal as love and heartbreak, and this poetry collection explores the feelings of loss, grief, doubt, anger, relief and acceptance that can come when in going through a breakup. The book contains poems about heartbreak and healing, through the authors own breakup journey, in a way others van relate to. The poems explore how strong love, emotions and the human heart can be, when meeting a cold and cruel world. Through the stages break, mend and growth, using words, feelings and visual storytelling to show that you are not alone in your feelings. You are not alone in feeling like you're drowning, but one day you will walk out the other side and just feel relief.
The book contains poems about heartbreak and healing, through my own breakup journey, but hopefully in a way others also relate to. The poems explore how strong love, emotions and the human heart can be, when meeting a cold and cruel world. My Deadly Heart is a warm hug for the heartbroken and petrol on the fire for the scorned and angry.
Through play on words and visual storytelling I really use the artistic sides of poetry, conveying the story and emotions through more than just the words. I take you through the phases of my heartbreak, «break», «mend» and «grow», and hope to give you some hope and inspiration in your own journeys.
Thank you Anna for giving me an Arc of your poetry collection!
I find poetry to be the best way to let go of heavy emotions, and therefore found a lot of my own thoughts and emotions in your poetry. Heartbreak is something most people go through, but I love when we can make art out of something dark.
If you want honest poetry that you can relate to, then this is the collection for you!
While reading, take what resonates and leave the rest. Poetry is never meant to be understood fully, but felt with all your heart.
I’ve known Anna since I basically joined this community. She’s really the sweetest so when she announced she’s going to release a book about heartbreak and healing through poems, it was an immediate YES.
I’ve had this as a routine right before bed, reading a couple pages and her words are really getting to you. We’ve all been there, feeling like we aren’t enough and the world is crumbling down on us. These poems are relatable and harsh, but so so beautiful. Understood and seen. My feelings are cared for. Thank you Anna 🤍
