This is the 9th book of the series. It was written in 2024, so I don’t know if there will be more. It felt like a finale, but I hope we get some kind of reunion soon.
I absolutely loved this series, and this particular book was one of my favorites. I know I’m reading it out of season, but Christmas in May is nice too. It’s a quick, “feel good” type of book. By the last scene, my face was covered in tears. I can’t say enough how much I loved this book and the entire series. A very big thank you to the author for writing this wonderful story.
I borrowed this one from the Kindle Unlimited library. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was cute but very short and I'm unclear who the target audience is. It kind of reads like a kids book but the theme is adult. The main character is a cat named Whiskers and he is a detective. A dead body shows up and only he knows that it was a murder. He gets help from his friends to communcate to the humans and solve the case. It's very cute but the talkinh animal bit is too kid story like in this case.
I started with the prequel when it popped up as a suggestion for me, enjoyed it a lot, so kept going! Great mix of witty and poignant, and just the right amount of suspense. If you love Kathy Manos Penn’s Dickens and Christie series like I do, you’ll really enjoy Detective Whiskers too! Perfectly cozy!!
I am truly hooked on the series. I started in the middle and now need to return to book 1 and proceed. Whiskers is so intelligent and enjoyable. Characters like Zappa and Toddy and Mae just add to the charm. Gotta feel sorry for Chief Anderson, tough breaks!
I absolutely loved it! A beautiful Christmas story. I love all the characters and love their happy endings. This is a must read series! I can’t wait for the next book!
Detective Whiskers captured your heart right away. Plus Sheila and her friends. The setting of Paradise Cove sounds like a wonderful place to live. The twist and turns in the storyline being told by the cat is amazing. The ploy to the story was well written. I can’t wait to start at the beginning of this series
