Bayou Books 13–18 CollectionDive into the stormy depths of the Bayou Bishops’ saga, where love, power, and prophecy collide in the shadowy swamps of Louisiana. From bullets flying under a raging hurricane to the rise of ancient Creole Viking Kings, each story weaves a tapestry of danger, romance, and the relentless fight for survival.
Book 13: Bullets and Viking Names As a hurricane tears through the bayou, the Bishops face a storm of their justice for Mia, the Viking woman caught in their crossfire. With alliances forged in the depths of chaos and a high-stakes gamble with Fate itself, the swamp becomes the stage for ancient myths to come alive—and for Sahvrin to prove that no one can challenge the Bishops without facing his wrath.
Book 14: The Love Experiment Rukem, the reluctant visionary of the Creole Kings, embarks on a daring mission to unravel the mysteries of love with the help of a commoner and a misfit Marsh Mutt. But as they dodge the fiery pull of passion and the secrets of an ancient prophecy, they uncover a truth that could change the fate of the bayou forever.
Book 15: Shank’s Blade When prophecy binds Shank to Sophie, a gifted spark from the Creole King’s Academy, love becomes a battlefield in the fight against the dark forces rising in the swamps. As the Bayou Bishops uncover cryptic coins foretelling judgment and renewal, Shank must wield his blade not only to protect their future but to claim a love that defies the shadows.
Book 16: The Syphon King Bound to a soul drowning in darkness, the Syphon King confronts the monster within himself as he battles to protect her. Their twisted dance of power forces him to the brink of release—and the unthinkable—as the quantum mysteries of their connection threaten to consume them both.
Book 17: Kaphas As the country teeters on the edge of collapse, Kaphas, an AI soldier, navigates a shattered world where justice belongs to vigilantes and passion ignites in the most unexpected places. Consumed by a powerful, forbidden desire for Celeste, a nun whose innocence dominates his thoughts, Kaphas is torn between salvation and torment. But with faction wars looming and cities burning, the Bishops must gamble on the swamp as their last refuge—or risk losing everything to the encroaching darkness.
Book 18: Rise of the Swamp Kings As Louisiana’s Swamp Kings—Bishop, King Nidev, and Quantum King—unite to hold back the tide of evil, the nation crumbles around them. Grappling with unrelenting dark urges, warped AI programming, and the relentless pull of their enemies, they launch a desperate rescue mission.
I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.
I must stress that there is a lot to enjoy in these stories and this book, BUT I am disappointed in it. I adored the first stories of this series; Sahvrin Bishop and Beth, Spook and Maggie, and even when they drifted from The Twelve, the romances of The Revelator finding Cherie, and Ruckus with Gracie, they were still wonderful. The initial concept - the twelve leaders of the 'hatches' in the Bayou finding themselves wives, while preparing to battle gun runners and traffickers - was enthralling. There were hints of that concept being slightly derailed in the first box set, but the focus in the six stories here - despite little bits about Hurricane, and Bullets and Shank - is on a wider, more nebulous threat, and two further groups, or 'kings', have been introduced. Nitro's blood - the first sign of the changes to the wider storyline in book 10 - becomes a tool to make the 'romances' second to sex : less love and more lust; and the emphasis becomes on the creation of super soldiers. If you like science fiction, there is plenty here for you, and what there is, however outlandish, is well-written and persuasive, but I wanted more stories like the first half dozen in this series, and the few glimpses I saw made me more wistful for the tales I signed up for. Sorry!
Lucian Bane is now my favorite author! Finished all 23 in the Bayou Bishop series. His writing is spectacular. I felt like I was there and part of the bayou family. All the books are filled with brotherhood, strong women, values, great sex and some humor. Definitely recommend! Just be ready to not be able to put the books down!!
