Play for Power is the third book in the Central Sparks series. Power focuses on Rosie and Caleb and they do not disappoint! I have been lucky enough to not only be an ARC reader for all 3 books but I got to BETA read Power, I will forever be grateful to Brittany for trusting me with her babies and for the friendship we have developed along the way.
Rosie embodies everything I aspire to be, a fierce, independent woman who’s fought tooth and nail to earn her place and rise through the ranks in her career. Watching her growth throughout the book was such a joy; seeing her step into her power, confront her fears, and own her worth made her journey not just inspiring, but deeply empowering. I had been looking forward to Rosies story since Fury and it was so worth it!
First, she gave us the adorable Noah, then the irresistibly grumpy Jessie, but holy fuck Caleb is something else. Every time I think I’ve found my favourite Central Sparks man, Britt’s like, ‘Hold my pen,’ and suddenly I’m head over heels for a new one. Caleb? He’s a golden retriever with dom energy and yes, we’re very here for it. The way he shows up for Rosie? Swoon-worthy. And don’t even get me started on his backstory… I was a blubbering mess. Caleb, you beautiful, emotional wreck of a man, I love you.
Rosie and Caleb together? Absolutely unstoppable and seriously, off-the-charts sexy. Their chemistry was pure fire, and those little games they played? I was living for it. Especially chapter 16… IYKYK 🔥 but it was the quiet, tender moments that truly melted me. I’m trying to give away as little spoilers possible but when Caleb helps Rosie with her hair? I’m still not over it.
So, if it’s not painfully obvious by now, I freaking adore this book. I’m already counting down the days until Book 4, because I just know Britt’s going to have me falling head over heels all over again, especially with those tropes. All I’ll say is… biker MMC? Yeah, I’m feral already.

Firstly, thank you once again for allowing me to be a part of your Beta/ARC team and trusting me with your work, I am SO honoured and grateful! You have created this little world in the Central Sparks series that I just absolutely cannot get enough of.
Rosie Garcia, the way I was anticipating her book! I absolutely loved her from the two previous books in the series and the way she had me laughing out of loud I just knew her book was not going to disappoint! Whilst in the other books we got to see glimpses of Rosie at a surface level, in this book we got to know HER and why she was the way she was - guarded, sassy, not really receptive to emotional connections and why she worked so hard for her own accomplishments and achievements.
Caleb Smith - the playboy with the golden retriever energy, the one who no one really took seriously but underneath that persona was a man who had depth and his backstory was so heartbreaking like I just wanted to give him a hug. He deserved to be someone’s first choice and the reason someone stayed.
These two together were just absolute FIRE. The banter, the chemistry and the push and pull between these two was so so good. And I loved seeing the whole Central Sparks crew throughout the story…I loved all the appearances in this, especially the boys discussing the girls book club…the questioning and reaction from the boys was brilliant 🤣
Another fantastic read by Brittany and the way I am anticipating the next book 🤭 I cannot wait!

Firstly, thank you to Brit for the ARC copy. Brit is one of my favourite romance authors who creates amazing characters with both strength and flaws 💜
💜 Rosie and Caleb 💜
Rosie and Caleb are wonderful examples of strong-willed, yet imperfect individuals. I love how Rosie is so independent and true to herself. Caleb is ambitious in his work, life, and even with Rosie. They are perfect for each other.
Rosie's birthday had me feeling all the feels. I love independence but sometimes we forget that it is okay to ask for help, no matter how strong willed and independent we may be.
I loved this book, and while it is longer than most, I think it is well done and kept me engaged throughout the story. I also always love seeing the other characters within the storyline!
Another great read by Brit! 💜🥹 I cannot wait for the next book.🙈

Play for Power is the third instalment of the Central Sparks series, and is a unique addition to the first two books ! while Fury and Hope focus on Addy and Casey finding comfort in themselves, Power is all about Rosie looking outside her own security and learning how to trust the process (something she’s never done, and yet, of course, she crushes it!)❤️🔥
Rosie Garcia is fiercely independent, something she has worked hard to achieve for herself as she lives each day under the guise of her power hungry father. Building a career she is passionate about and solely invested in has been an uphill battle at times, falling victim to typical misogynists and desperate competitors. But as a career woman, she holds a vast amount of love for her friends, and wishes she could lead her life in similar fashion 📝
Caleb Smith is caring, kind, and labelled as the groups “playboy”, but he couldn’t be more different once he sets his eyes on Rosie. Coming from a damaged home, Caleb has spent his adulthood building his company and a plethora of investments to provide him the peace of mind he grew up without. Despite having the boys, he feels inferior and views himself as second best. He has so much love to give, he just needs to find the right person to remind him he’s also lovable❤️🩹
Together, these two are fun and sexy, playing the game of friends with benefits, but refusing to let anyone else know. while the secret is fun at first, as both Rosie and Caleb find themselves falling for once another, they each break their own rules and find themselves making excuses. We all love a good old friends with benefits to lovers, and these two are no exception🔥
The way this book is written is so intriguing. While i fell in love with this series from the start, and Brits writing has always been beautiful, Power was a massive step up in how each character and scene was explored and executed. It is hard to think of ways an author can improve, but Brit has done it so naturally and it just shows how amazing she is ! 🥰
While i didn’t connect with Rosie like i did Addie and Casey, i loved her development and her journey. She came so far, and i loved that it was with Caleb beside her, but still wholly for herself. I have to say i did fall absolutely head over heels for Caleb, his huge heart and blue eyes swept me away, and i will be telling my future husband to refer to me as “Pretty Girl” if he wants to stay in my life🤭🥹
I loved this book from start to end, and i am soooo excited for the rest of the world to read this gorgeous piece!🫶🏼

Rosie has a pretty difficult life and unsupportive parents. That's why she decided to live her life to the fullest and never commit to anyone. She had a particular rule to only have a one time thing with any man she would end up with. Why? Because she had other plans ahead of her, something she really loathed but she was forced by her parents to do it.
Caleb was always in Rosie's close proximity because of their friends and he was mesmerized by everything she meant. It was really hard to convince Rosie to finally give him a chance, to share an unforgettable night together. And what a night that was! Because something was born in both of them, an unique feeling which shouldn't have bloomed. There cannot be anything else than a fling, but Caleb wasn't that type of man to give up so easily. Will he be able to turn Rosie's life upsidedown? Will he succeeded in changing her mind?
A secret and forbidden love which kept me super entranced in this story, especially in the second part of the book. Things became super interesting and pretty steamy too. Rosie had so many things to fight for but she didn't know if she would be able to fullfil them. Caleb was such an amazing man and I simply adored the way he supported Rosie and how hard he fought for what he wanted. Caleb was simply the man Rosie never thought she needed in her life, to have someone in her corner to support her no matter what. Even though things got super tangled, nothing could make Caleb change his mind: to make Rosie his and to forever cherish her.
I must admit that this book hadn't hooked me from the start, being a bit uncertain about it, but boy how things have changed throughout this story! It made me super curious about everything and made me like it more and more with each chapter I read. It was something about these characters, their connection and the impossible situation they where in which made me change my perspective and made me love it eventually.

I don’t know what’s happening, but this year is the year I fall for the BLONDE MMC. I know,crazy right? Who’d have thunk it??
But seriously Caleb is just incredible, the sexiest, kind-hearted golden retriever MMC, he’s loyal, bold, his BDE is overpowering at times and his devotion to Rosie should be studied for science. The man is everything.
But can we take a moment for Rosie, please?
When I read Fury I found myself rallying to Addy, when I read Hope I found myself feeling for Casey, when I read Power?! I fell in love with Rosie, I was rooting for her, I found myself really genuinely hoping to see her succeed, I love her with every ounce of my being.
She’s strong, intelligent, independent, fierce, bold, she fights tooth and nail for the things she wants and believes in and every second of her story and growth was incredibly empowering.
Rosie and Caleb are beautiful, they’re sexy they’re fun, the chemistry is off the charts… i loved it. I love Britt’s writing because she makes me want more of the MCs solo stories as well as their combined love story and this was no exception. The back stories for both Caleb and Rosie had me an emotional wreck, and I’m still not over it.
One thing about Brittany Rianne, she’s a girls girl. And all her FMCs are too. A huge reason I love this series Is the found family aspect of this friendship group. And this book did not disappoint. I can not wait for Book 4 to continue with this series!!

I was provided an ARC copy and this is my honest review.
God this book felt long. At almost 600 pages, not much happened. Yes, we see the relationship progress for almost a year, but so many scenes felt like filler and could have been cut.
There were a few continuity issues throughout this book too. And a couple of questionable phrasing choices (not sure fuckt**d is okay to use these days)
Caleb was a great character and I genuinely loved watching his journey through this book. The third act breakup from his perspective genuinely hurt my heart.
Rosie on the other hand? By the end of the book I was over her and skipping through her chapters. I am genuinely baffled by her decision to not tell a single person about her 'duties', considering she has been friends with Addy and Casey for so long. I understand needing to be the strong friend (hi, it's me) but there was literally no need for her to keep this to herself expect to be a plot point.
I felt a little deflated after reading this, because I was so excited after book 1 and 2, but this one felt like a miss for me.

Guys, I beta-read this and honestly, I was not disappointed! Rosie is basically the definition of Blossom, and I am so here for it! 🙌 Now, while I did feel like the story was a bit longer than it needed to be (maybe because I was sick, who knows), I still devoured every minute of it. Watching Rosie and Caleb clash and come together was absolutely EVERYTHING. 😍
Rosie was everything I could’ve hoped for: independent, strong-willed, and sassy as hell. She’s got that ‘I don’t care’ attitude, but don’t be fooled—she cares SO much! Honestly, I wasn’t a huge fan of the lying, but seeing her fight for Caleb AND for herself made me love her even more. I wish we got more of her telling her dad off, but for now, I’ll settle for her going off on a few people who definitely deserved it (no spoilers, you gotta read it!
And then there's Caleb, our resident playboy, who finally met his match in Rosie. I’ve gotta say, Rosie totally won that game. 🙌 It was heartbreaking to see how much of his self-worth was tied to his dads’ comments, but when he finally stood up to his dad, I was all in for him! 👏 Caleb is not only trying to

I love that Rosie is a 'take no shit', sarcastic, strong woman but under her mask she is vulnerable and scared.
There were very unlikeable characters who made Rosie feel lesser of a person. It made me want to scream at her to just say no! These antagonists were done really well to create these emotions.
I was so glad she ignored her father's demands and went to the gala. It showed that she is strong, standing up for herself.
The blindfold scene 🥵 good lord. Got me a lil hawt and bothered 🤭
Brittany is the QUEEN of writing spicy scenes.
Showing her vulnerability in the bath scene was super sweet and emotional. Rosie's character development was epic. Loved her.
Oh and the epilogue?! 🥹 👏🏻
It was full of emotion, sweet moments, strong friendships, strong character growth and the sweetest golden Retriever MMC you could imagine. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I was so excited for Rosie’s story and it did not disappoint at ALL!
it was such an emotional roller coaster but I was so here for it and was so glad to read it again!
i was captured with the story so fast.
the tension between Caleb and Rosie, oh my was it hot.
but also like the little moments between them, i live for them, and they were utterly cute oh my 🥹
the support from everyone and the found family warmed my heart so much.
i truly felt a tear running down my cheek in chapter 36 so well was it written and then the song to it? 😃 I was done for.
Brittany has such a way of making me feel EVERYTHING with her words and I am truly going to feel everything.
rosie is such a strong woman, is confident in who she is and is trying so hard to make a name for herself by herself. she is so successful doing that.
i just wanna give her such a big hug.
and I loved how she could openly could be herself while talking with caleb. how she wasn’t afraid to show some pieces of herself.
i liked her energy and character in the other two books and was so excited to read her own story!
she deserves all the good things and is such an amazing and strong woman and knows what she wants.

I love how he matches Rosie’s energy and just how gone he is far her and just wants to be in her space.
he is always there for her and just wants to give her what she needs in so many different ways.

i loved the spicy scenes but also the scenes where they just hung out and enjoyed the others company.

Rosie and Caleb remind me of the characters from How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. There are many elements from the movie that are in this book and I am here for it. The only difference is Rosie does not want to commit to a relationship. She has her reasons, trust me. She keeps everyone at an arm's length due to her childhood and due to her not wanting to let people truly in. Because sometimes the messy dark bits of ourselves people tend to shy away from or are afraid of. I firmly believe if someone is your friend or a lover that they will love all of your parts, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Rosie works at a high end publishing company in NYC. She is in the romance division and delivers again and again for the company. She has worked her butt off to get where she is.. Or was it handed to her? I truly believe that Rosie earned every bit of what she is given in this story ( not the bad stuff because that makes my heart hurt ) but the good stuff. She earned that. She’s a good girl.
Caleb reveals himself to be the playboy. The man who can get a girl’s number with a flick of the wrist. But truly, who is Caleb? He oozes sex appeal and humble beginnings. I love his character very much due to the fact that he is patient, he is attentive, and he has golden retriever vibes.
Rosie and Caleb are perfect for one another but with any story their friendship - situationship - relationship is not without its complications.
I stayed up last night to finish this book because my heart ached when I knew they couldn’t be together and why. So, are you willing to play the game and find out if they had a happy ending?

Play for Power by Brittany Rianne completely wrecked me in the best way. From the first page, I was all in. This story had me emotionally invested like few others, and by the end, I was clutching the book to my chest, wishing I could live in this world just a little longer.
Caleb is everything. He’s that golden retriever man I fall for every time—loyal, soft-hearted, and fiercely devoted but also has his own backstory that will break your heart. I melted during the street festival scene when he showed just how deeply he loves Rosie. (No spoilers, but if you know, you know—I was a puddle.)
Rosie’s emotional growth throughout the book is something I truly appreciated. So many stories brush past the hard work of healing and change, but Brittany Rianne showed it here. Watching Rosie come into her own was one of my favorite parts of the journey.
And yes—I did shed a few tears at chapter 36, even though I saw it coming. That scene still hit like a freight train.
This book is heartfelt, romantic, and so emotionally satisfying. A solid 5 stars from me. Brittany Rianne nailed it.

Caleb f*cking Smith everyone. The ultimate book boyfriend that was down for anything.
Rosie is the most amazing FMC because of how sassy, independent and incredible she is. She’s all about her strong willed self, she’s a very act first ask for forgiveness later and I love that. While I wish she would have told off her dad a bit more and told him to stuff it, I get it. She just wanted to make him proud but in the end her happiness is more important.
Caleb is everyone’s resident playboy but met Rosie and decided that she was better than everyone else. He is so kind, caring and loving that he is just absolute perfection.
Rosie and Caleb’s love story was beautiful and heartbreaking and so worth all the pain.
Thank you so much for this beautiful Arc, while I loved this book, nobody can beat Noah and Addy for me. They’re my favourites and always will be but nonetheless, this story was perfection.

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this beautiful book through my work with Brittany and her Street team. I could talk about this series for years because Brittany's writing is some of the best out there in the contempory romance world. In the writing world in general if we are being honest.
Book three in this series!
Caleb and Rosie have been dancing around each other for a few years now. Both the players in their respective friend groups. Both have traumatic upbringings that have brainwashed their psychie into believe they are undeserving of love or that it doesn't exist.
This story is hot and spicy! I love seeing these two trying to out do each other. It is absolutely a cat and mouse hard to get dynamic. Friends with Benefits. What could go wrong?

I’ve been struggling to physically read books of late but the way that I have just devoured this!
Rosie has rules for dating - no repeats, no sleepovers and absolutely no falling in love! But playboy Caleb has her wanting to break every rule.
As with books 1 and 2 of the Central Sparks series the drama, angst and spice were on point. Brittany writes incredible men and I am completely obsessed with Caleb. He is just perfection.
I especially loved all the Spanish and Caleb’s efforts to connect Rosie to her culture.

Oh my god!! This book was absolutely incredible. The way Caleb was absolutely gone for Rosie had me screaming. The things they got up to were hot 🔥. I absolutely love the way Caleb did not want Rosie to change who she was for anyone. He did everything he could to make sure that she got her power back. I cried being in Caleb’s head when times got hard for him. I am absolutely obsessed with this couple. Caleb is just a good boy 😉

The story itself was good and got where she was going with it but it was way too long and could have been at least 200 pages shorter! Caleb was beautiful and just loved her from the beginning and I understand why Rosie was the way she was but she ended up being annoying and repetitive and I would have marked it higher but the story didn’t need to be this long. But the spice was amazing she definitely can write spice!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book as I hadn't really given much thought to Rosie and her backstory while reading Falling for Fury and Hiding from Hope as I saw her as just the funny and easy going friend.
....BUT my goodness was I in for a wonderful surprise! Rosie was far from my initial thoughts and I didn't expect her to be so fierce and independent. Her vulnerabilities and flaws really brought her to life. I appreciated her not only fighting for her happiness in terms of finding a man, but also her independence as a woman. Calab complimented her incredibly well and their dynamic is beautiful, spicy and at times heartbreaking.
While reading this book, I loved revisiting the couples from the first two books - I could really appreciate the series as a whole and their interactions within the entire friend group.

Both Rosie and Caleb don’t do relationships, and the book starts off with a one night stand to FWB situation. As the book progresses both Rosie and Caleb’s walls and rules start to crumble.
It took me a while to get into this one, I don’t think I related to Rosie as much as I related to Casey (the FMC from the previous book in this series). But Caleb 👀👀, Brittany you’ve yet again had me falling for a blonde man (unthinkable).
As I mentioned earlier, this book was longggg, sitting at nearly 600 pages. Personally, I feel like contemporary romances should max out at about 400 😅 Although some parts I think could have been cut down, I truly love the characters Brittany creates. There were so many endearing moments throughout this series and by the end of each book, I’m ready for more 💜
