M.A. Stone has been writing and making up stories ever since she was a little girl and she got her Sesame Street coloring books taken away for filling them with dirty words. She was born and raised in Upstate NY(which oddly makes her sound like she is from Wisconsin)and has moved around all over the east coast. She currently lives in South Central PA with her amazingly sarcastic husband and her four incredibly entertaining children. Oh and her dog who weighs over 90 pounds, but thinks she is a Shi Tzu.
I went into this book already on the edge of my seat, waiting to know more about this crazy messed up family. I was excited to read more about Aaron and Chloe, see how their story would play out with all of the bad things that have happened to Aaron in his past. I have to be honest and say that I was extremely disappointed in this book. It was all over the place it bounced from family member to family member. It made reading the book difficult, it was being told from Aaron's and Chloe's point of view. I believe the book wanted to tell you the story of Aaron and Chloe, but it was not focused enough to be able to get that point acrossed.
The story itself had its moments, I enjoyed reading about all the craziness that is the Drawn family. The way characters are with each other makes me laugh and it's really crazy family! I just wish that this story would have focused more on the two main characters a bit more.
Aaron finally gets out of prison for the murder of his beloved wife, he leaves his family behind without a word and starts to "live it up." When one night he might have gone a bit too far and wakes up with some ice on his junk. He feels that he's better off alone than with family that loves him. That's when the little blond pixie walks into his life. Can Aaron learn to love Chloe or will he just have room in his heart for one woman?
Chloe has a very interesting family that she loves dearly, family is everything to her. She knows that Aaron needs to come back home and be around the people that love and care for him. She sets out to bring him home. When she finds him on the floor with ice on his package, she just goes to work as a caretaker. After some time she knows that she has feelings for Aaron and she knows that he is broken, and she does not want to fix him like most people would she just want him to be happy and to take one day at a time. Will Chloe is able to keep her hunk of a man or will he just leave her wanting more.
I would get give this book 3 out of 5 fangs

I was given an ARC for a hones review.Caught up is the second book in the Drawn series. Riveted is book 1 and There goes the neighborhood is book 1.5. Caught up picks up where book 1 ended. Aaron is hiding out from his family after being released from prison after 15 years for a crime he did not commit. The murder of his wife and the mother of his children. While away from his children Aaron has turned to late nights filled with booze, women and sex. He is on a never ending cycle of waking up in bed with women and he has no clue what he is doing. After one such night he wakes up to a call from Chloe his daughter’s best friend and the piercer at his son’s tattoo shop. Chloe comes into Aarons place where he has been hiding out, packs him up and her and his son Axel bring Aaron back home to try and get his life on track. Aaron ends up moving in with Chloe and this is where the “fur starts to fly.” Once again the cast of characters are brought back together and the craziness picks back up except there is an added crazy. Aaron and Chloe end up trying to make a go at a relationship. The story is another journey of a dysfunctional family at its best. They may be crazy but there is plenty of love in this family as well as secrets which are starting to be revealed. I can say I loved this book and I have never laughed as hard as I have reading this book. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series. There are enough characters in this series to keep the laughs coming for a good while
There is so much going on in here! WOW, I cant wait for the next book. Who thinks of this stuff?? I even read some of the books the book club referred to!! I liked this a lot, funny and some suspense. When is the next one?

"Not everyone gets their happily ever after and those few lucky bastards that do, well, sometimes one man's happily ever after can be another man's nightmare."
Welcome to Aaron Drawn's world, after serving time in prison for a murder he did not commit he is released and is struggling with the repercussions of his past. His children Beau, twins Bleu and Axel were raised by their auntie and the twins are now working together with their half brother Matt. Beau has disappeared from their lives without looking back. They live close by and work together in a co joined ink/piercing shop and garage.
Still on probation Aaron has several conditions he must adhere to to stay free...weekly counseling sessions and to remain distant from the MC. We watch as he struggles to talk through his emotions, the pain and loss that is still so fresh. The guilt and grief of not being there for his children. This is a rollercoaster rode of emotions as we read his struggle to reconnect with his family. At 53 he has four children and two grandchildren and he feels like a failure. Je punishes himself with meaningless sex and alcohol fueled bouts that is until he meets Chloe.
Working alongside the Drawn's as the resident piercer she is Matt's best friend. Chloe has an unusual upbringing as both her parents are part of the Coney Island Freak Show! Not batting an eye lid at the familys crazy background or drama Chloe fits right in and oh boy this family sure knows how to qualify for a whole series of Jerry Springer...crazy exes that have tried murdering their offspring, grandfather's that held the gavel of the local MC and died of Aids, an aunt that runs the local BDSM club...and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
I would like to say this is Chloe's and Aaron's fairytale love story, their heart felt romance but that would be diminishing the story as it is so much more. They are drawn to one another and they set sparks flying with their sexual chemistry but for me there was so much more going on. I love the family dynamics, Chloe's relationship with her parents and sister. The sub plots were warm humorous and made me laugh. The club members, the mechanics at the garage and Gran...well what more can I say the family is also a little too fond of impromptu lawn fires! Honestly it's hard to review as there are so many spoilers to tell you about...pick it up and read it just to read about the therapy sessions involving glitter and fairy wings. Or for the family revelations towards the end that will make tears spring to your eyes...this book is funny and warm. It's a snap shot of real family life even having a subplot totally devoted to discussing mummy porn and the effect on relationships, the misconceptions and the bonuses of non vanilla sex. It also deals head in with postnatal depression, PTDS and bipolar so covers real issues.
My only complaint is there is no happily ever after, we are so not done yet. Although it can be read as a stand alone certain issues have not been resolved.Who murdered Angel? Where had Beau been? Who is the new Prez of the MC? Will Cait or Axel find there own HEA...so many questions!
***I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review!***
I think that the author continues to show improvement with character development and overall story line. Aaron does continue to grow on you the more you read about him. You also get a better sense of who his children are in this book. All of the characters that you have come to know in previous books are back with a vengeance, as there are plenty of more crazy times to be had.
While I am not a big fan of books with a much older character involved with a younger character, I think that Aaron and Chloe do have an interesting connection. She certainly brings out a better side of him, and helps him to understand himself and his past better. Chloe is very understanding of the feelings he still has towards his late wife, which is very important, as that is something that will never truly go away.
I did think it odd to read a lot more of Aaron's story, as I thought this series would focus more on his children, and especially with it being back to back with his previous story. I felt that this story would have been easier to get into if Riveted had been in between. It seems that just as you are getting into his past, and his love story with Angel, that book ends and then you are forced to move onto a new love interest which has some inherent problems of its own. I guess I just felt like these books could have been combined or rearranged to make it easier on the reader.
This series is based on a family of crazy people. I have never read a series where crazier things have happened, and with such regularity, than they do here. Each person in this series has their own baggage to deal with, and at times, the situations that come up are still highly improbable. I think that many of the scenes and characters were added to make the book funnier, but they actually detracted from the story for me. I know that this is a work of fiction, but I have to believe that these situations could really happen in order for me to completely connect with it. I have to find characters that I would want to be friends with, that make me laugh, that I find redeeming rather than just ridiculous.
There were some really great scenes in this book, and again, I think that the author had some really great ideas that just weren't executed as well as they could have been. The characters were better developed, but the editing was still an issue. There were still repetitive phrases used, and some of the same ideas and scenes were used in every book. While this book was better in some ways, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in my opinion.
Aron Oh Aron!, This book had me reeling! I mean Aron and his family are the picture of dysfunctional and love all mixed into one big Brady bunch blended family. Okay that is the gist of the family dynamic but the love, the love that they share no matter how mad they are at each other bubbles up to the surface making this the best family love story I have read yet. Now let's talk about Aron and Chloe. yeah if you read There goes The Neighborhood the prequel to Riveted and the the Story of Aron and Angel. Then you know that Aron had and lost the one true love of his love. The mother of 3 of his children, the one he still dreams about. Oh and yeah you would have learned about all of his mistakes and loves lost including Kaci the mother of his first born and her sister Kellan. Now if you haven't read that book no worries you will get glimpses of it in this book but to get a complete picture I HIGHLY recommend that you read this book. Okay back to Caught Up. How do I feel about this amazing story that includes not only his love interest but his life his kids his sister...His family? I loved every minute of every page and every word written in this book. Simply put it isn't perfect it is real it isn't a fairy tale it is gritty and tortured pasts. It isn't unicorns and rainbows it is love and demons and happiness despite it all. It is romantic and funny and get in your face angry. But I know that every person that picks up this book will be so incredibly happy they read I know. I am! Sexy Aron and his angelic Chloe are perfect for each other. She is the light in his darkness and he is the excitement she has been looking for. Not entirely perfect but completely made for each other. **Swoon** This book captured me from the first paragraph, granted I had just finished reading the prequel and was dying to know more about Aron. But none the less I was hooked. All I want to know now is will we get to see what Happens to Axle and Matt? I can't wait!!!
Out of prison and drinking himself into oblivious. Aaron is on a downward spiral that seems to be gathering momentum. Life inside for the murder of his wife, Angel – a crime he didn’t commit has left this strong man a shadow of his former self. But determined to make up for lost time, he sets about trying to fit all the fun stuff he can think of into his life, I mean what is not to enjoy about being drunk almost permanently, sleeping his way though as many of the female population as he can get his hands on and as if that isn’t bad enough he only goes and gets pierced- I mean really!!! Axel, Bleu, Beau and Matt are having hard time watching their old man trying to adjust to life on the outside but he has no intension of listening to them and their whinging – 20 years inside is a lot to make up for or so he considers. Bleu’s friend tries to works some magic and to help him see that what he is doing isn’t the path he needs to be on, but can she get through to man that is still reeling after what he has been through? The relationship between them becomes more than anyone ever considered but they had an empathy for each other that I think far outweighed the age difference that fixated others. And I admire the author for showing that there is no justification for using age as a barrier to happiness. Nothing should be considered off limits when it comes to matters of the heart, because many of the taboo’s banded around in society are unjustified. The whole family are ever present throughout the story and I have to say that they are completely absorbing. They all have their trials and tribulations and I cannot wait to read what comes next. This is a series that is improving with each story that is released. Great work by the author and I hope for a speedy release of the next in the series.
I first met the Drawn family in Riverted, and I couldn't wait to get stuck in to part 2.
The head of the dysfunctional family, Aaron is released from prison after serving time for the murder of his wife, Angel.
Aaron struggles to adapt and goes on a massive bender, resulting in piercings and waking up in strange women's beds.
His son Axel and friend Chloe intervene and bring him home. He now has to face reality and get his life back on track. Chloe' s intervention has quiet an impact on Aaron and as much as he tries to deny it he falls for her hard.
Aaron is one sexy older man, and he and Chloe do make a unconventional couple but they work. Amongst a new relationship Aaron also has more family issues and a crazy therapist that he has to see as part of his probation.
I have loved reading this story, it's very relevant and I couldn't help but laugh at certain points, especially at the book club! If this family were in a reality show they would be similar to the Osbourne' s. The story is sexy, funny and crazy. Anyone who has read the previous books in the series will know that Aaron has always denied killing his wife, I really want to find out the story behind what happened. I also feel we have a lot more to come from this family and I can't wait. There are some surprises in this story but so much more I want to know about.
The author describes Aaron and his look really well and I love the cover photo, it really seemed to pop on on my Kindle and stand out.
I haven't read the prequel to this series but I feel the need to read more and get my fix of Aaron.
Caught Up is book 2 in the Drawn series but can be read as a standalone.
The Drawn family is completely messed up. Each one of them have been through so much making them all their own special kind of effed up. I adore each an every one of them no matter their flaws I fell in love with this broken family. Aaron's life was forever changed when he came home to a house full of cops and a dead wife, after serving time for her murder which he didn't commit, he's out and ruining what's left of his life. Lucky for him there are friends and family who won't allow him to continue to drink his life away. I loved the family stepping in to help Aaron get back on his feet, get back to his family and his children who he missed grow up while he was behind bars. They weren't pushy more guiding than forcing anything on him, but deep down he obviously wanted to make the changes or it wouldn't have been so easy. Then comes something he never expected to happen to him again, he has a second chance to love and be loved.
There's so much I want to say about this book but I'll end up giving something away and I despise spoilers!!
Caught Up is a pretty spectacular read, full of angst, love, loss, forgiveness and learning to live and love again. The family is not some amazingly put together group, they are all flawed or broken and that makes the reader love them even more. The way they each deal with their problems and with each other is captivating, I couldn't put this book down and read it in one day. I can't wait to read more from this author and more of the Drawn Series.
I just finished Caught Up and I really enjoyed it. It is apart of the Drawn Series so to really get an idea of all the characters this should be read in order but could be read as a stand alone. Aaron is the daddy of the Drawn brunch, the kids Axel, Bleu, Beau and Matt. Aaron has just gotten out of prison for murdering his wife even though he did not do it. He was wrongfully accused, not enough evidence. With being out, he has been whoring around, drinking, getting his johnson pierced..that sort of thing. Hell, he was in prison for 20 years what do you expect? But his family is worried about him so Chloe (which is Bleu friend) comes to get him out of his stupor. Aaron ends up staying with Chloe and they of course start feeling things for one another. He is 53 and she is 32. Big age difference but to me this age gap is just a number. There is also family drama going on throughout the whole story that kept me entertained even though at times it was a little bit much. But it really made me care about these characters. It did have me laughing throughout and I just cant wait to see what happens next! My only complaint is the way it ended. I wanted more but alas it will continue in the next one!
This is the story of Aaron and Chloe and I absolutely loved it. We never know if we will be blessed to find love twice in one lifetime, but Aaron does. Chloe is no "Angel" but she doesn't need to be. She is an amazing, strong woman who knows what she wants and she wants Aaron.
Now can you say dysfunctional? That's the best way to describe this cast of characters. They are all completely effed up, but they are so real as well. However, there is an abundance of love for one another. There were several moments throughout the book that I was also literally laughing out loud.
I cannot wait to see what the author M.A. Stone has in store for us as the series continues. I would give Caught Up 4.5 stars.
*I received Caught Up as an ARC for an honest review.
Meh... it was ok. The blurb caught my eye and I though why not give it a go? Keep in mind that I did not read the first book in this series. The whole series is very inter connected especially for this being the second book.
I did kinda like the story and characters. The whole family is like a Soap Opera, I can kinda relate to it as my extended family is currently having a bit of a Soap Opera year... or is it two years? Any who. There are some very funny parts in this book, I loved when the Men had there own 'book club' and were reading similar books as the women.
In the end however I just didn't connect very well. I thought that I was really going to like Aaron's therapist Willa, and I did, right up until I didn't. It wasn't a bad book and I would maybe give it 3 stars but it just wasn't for me.
First of all this book was abso-freaking-lutely brilliantly written. the storyline just flows flawlessly. and OMG the laugh out loud moments...the men's bookclub meeting, trust exercises were just hilarious. I am so loving all of these characters, I think would make an awesome movie. I just can't get over how well I was entertained and engrossed in this read. Chloe and Aaron will stay with me for a good long while. I do short reviews sorry but just know readers need to check out this series. I don't like to do spoilers so I am done!! Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
There was really no romance in this book. At about 62% I gave up. The H and h never spent much time together. When one came home the other either wasn't there or the the case of the H, he would leave to go out with the guys or his psychologist... stupid! I am a counselor and that would never happen. I got real tired of him google Nguyen out with family or friends and leaving the h alone. Relationship was a bit too ambivalent to me.
Wow what an amazing book 2 in this series! I have to say M.A. Stone knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! It's like no other I have read and amazing too! Just omg wow! From taking a short break with his wife, to finding out his wife had been murdered to going to jail for the murder he didn't commit! And so so so much more it is such an amazing read that I just couldn't put it down until it was done! Just awesomely amazingly great! 10+ stars!
At first I was a bit skeptical about the whole way older guy scenario but Aaron really grew on me and I came to love him and Chloe together.. They just fit! The entire fucked up Drawn family was one you could not help but love. On top I found this story different from others I have read and very well written.
Wow! Aaron has survived so much in his crazy life but has a wonderful family. I fell in love with each of these characters and look to reading Beau's story. I laughed out loud. Book was funny and an emotional roller coaster.
