The Cuddleverse #3

Shattered Trinket

Rate this book
Battered and broken, that's what I am.
Kept locked away for over a year, abused and dying inside, I'm nothing but a shattered omega trinket. The only bright spots in my days were when the Ghost came around, offering me the smallest bits of kindness and showing me that not everyone is as terrible as the monster who kept me locked up.
When a fiery omega with more heart than I've ever seen rescues me, saving my life, I feel more off-kilter than ever. Her family offers me kindness and a home, and her brother and his pack make me feel like maybe I could find what she has. There's also the matter of the sweet counselor who's been helping me cope since I arrived at the hospital.
Suddenly, I'm surrounded by alphas so unlike what I was taught to expect, and the omega in me wants them more than anything, wants to believe they could be my salvation. But the traumatized woman who's been through hell wants to fight the pull. I also can't stop dreaming about my Ghost.
When he comes back for me, can the four new alphas in my life accept him despite his past crimes? Or will I have to choose between the one that gave me a mental escape whenever he was around and the four who've been mending my tattered soul and breathing new life back into me?

*Shattered Trinket is a reverse harem omegaverse romance. You meet Cozette at the end of Switch Heater, so they are interconnected but each book can be read as a standalone.

3.5* Enjoyment was a 3*, writing was a 4*. I know I shouldn’t compare books, but Broken Bonds is the only other book I’ve read by this author and the emotional piece to that was so well written and grabbed me so much, that it was a no brainer 5* read. This one was a let down… It wasn’t bad and if you’re just looking for an omega read that is just about the characters (meaning not much plot), this will likely be up your alley. There are some major triggers, but I didn’t feel like most of it was written in a super triggering manner. I could not get past the guys though…especially Jeremiah. I probably would have liked him if they had been introduced differently. But come on…he’s so devoted and in love, yet barely tries to get her away from a huge amount of TORTURE for a year? Leaves her completely for months, even though he supposedly has all these “contacts”? He couldn’t at least have called in an anonymous tip to the cops? Found some way to poison Victor if he couldn’t bring in weapons? I mean…I know it’s not real, but I couldn’t get past that. And while I liked Micah, personally I’m not ok with patients and therapists getting together, especially super traumatized ones. Of course they’re going to latch on. Again, I’m aware I’m thinking about this way too much because it’s not real. I just couldn’t get past those things. The only characters I kinda liked were Zeke and Mama. Cozy was ok, but it just didn’t feel authentic to me. It got pretty boring for me at about 45% too, though I made myself finish it. Again, I’m sure it’ll be an awesome book for someone else, just didn’t do it for me.

DNF at 42%. Just could not get behind the many poor excuses the MMC ‘Ghost’ didn’t intervene with this FMC‘s trauma, which was pretty significant. You could I don’t know call the cops or preemptively called the fire department about a fire while the bad guys gone and leave the front door unlocked so they would have probable cause to enter or catch the bad guy when he’s out of his house and do away with him since you’re such a “bad dude with connections.”

This was great!

Cozy was pot through so much in such little time! The things she went through and the men she had that helped her get through really carried this book! Ghost! Oh how i love him! On a path of love and redemption! He didn’t stray away from Cozy but continued to love her hard and show up for her! Him asking and GETTING forgiveness was such a huge part of this book! Ridge is like every other male with letting his emotions guide him instead of his heart but he quickly remedies that! When Cozy and Ridge bonded first i completely understood and I’m so glad all the guys were genuinely happy and weren’t jealous! Micah and his sweet self! He advocated for Cozy at her lowest and continued to lift her up! I’m glad they are packed up and bonded! Manny ugh! I just love him! He’s so caring and attentive! Let’s not forget about Zeke the menace! Always up to something but his love for Cozy was unmatched! All the guys being just as devoted to her as he is! This book showed growth between all the characters! There wasn’t any doubts of feelings or love even when finding out sad news but everyone took it in stride and life kept moving on! This is my official 1st KL Moore and i really enjoyed this book! The plot was great, the banter was awesome, the characters growth was the absolute best!, and the families and their intense love for everyone was a great highlight! I definitely recommend this book! Pls take CWs and TWs seriously before diving in!

I took away an entire star because of ONE SUPER ANNOYING thing... Cozy is constantly putting up a fuss about the guys calling her small.... but is described as a woman that is "four foot ten"... Girl stfu. They are calling you small because you are LITERALLY small. *insert rolling eyes emoji* This literally almost made me dnf. Can we stop writing girls with such STRONG "pick me" energy? It's exhausting and juvenile.

It wasn't a bad read but if you are looking for a tortured fmc that heals throughout the story with the help of her mates... this is not it. Cozy is sooo exposed in the beginning, understandable considering everything she has been through. But then her healing seems to be rushed after meeting her mates. It all just seems like it's no longer an issue for her? I understand her being comfortable with her mates, but then she is going out and meeting other people and not having any panic or issues and there just isn't any real healing from one extreme to the other?

Which leaves.. what? The romance? Because this starts out with the villain already being dead.. so there is literally no drama or excitement? And even with the relationships it felt like they were extremely unbalanced. I LOVED Micah. He was my favorite but I feel like we barely even saw their relationship blossom.

Also the whole Scottish speaking thing kept throwing me off... Such an odd thing to try to read and understand. Especially since it didn't seem consistent.

Cozette’s story had all the makings of my favorite kind of cuddleverse drama. After over a year of captivity and cruelty, she’s finally rescued and pulled into safety, first by a fiery omega, then into her brother’s pack, and even supported by a sweet counselor who helps her through recovery. And then there’s Ghost, the shadowy figure who brought her scraps of kindness in captivity, and the one her heart can’t let go of. When he finally comes back into the picture, the real question isn’t just whether Cozette can heal, but whether her new pack can accept a man with so much blood on his hands.

The first half gave me everything: high tension, emotional stakes, and the delicious mess of Coz being caught between safety, healing, and obsession. But once she’s settled with the pack, the conflict seemed to fade. The back half focused more on coziness and bonding without really pushing the drama or forcing a hard choice, so the momentum dipped just when I was ready for it to explode.

✨ trope checklist:
– omegaverse reverse harem
– survivor heroine healing after captivity
– best friend's brother’s pack + counselor dynamics
– tension between safety, trust, and feral obsession

3⭐️ the premise and characters are strong but the second half stalled without the conflict and bite I wanted.

I don't really feel as if this can be read as a standalone as quite a lot of the characters aren't re introduced. You also don't get the same backstory for cozy if you don't read switch heaters first. I really enjoyed the first 70% of the book but then things started happening really quickly and I feel like the relationship between Cozy and Ridge, Zeke and Manny was really rushed. I think the book needed to be longer or the relationships between them needed to be introduced a lot earlier. I was also disappointed that she never really spoke to them about her past and they never really had the chance to comfort her in the same way as Jeremiah would. I also hated and could not stand the Scottish accent for Zeke. It was so cringe and really made it hard to read anything he said. It very nearly made me DNF it was that bad.
Overall I would say it was 5 stars up until 70%ish but then dropped to 3 stars the remainder of the book. I found myself really struggling to pick up the book to continue reading after 70% and often lost interest which is a big contrast to me being unable to put it down for the first 70%. It took me one evening to get to 70% and then 3 days to finish the remaining 30%.

This was a decent omegaverse book. I liked Cozy and even though she had a really dark and traumatic past I think the author did a good job of not making it her entire personality and then making it a depressing read.
The alphas though I found a bit weird, I understood Ridge, Zeke and Manny were an established pack so they’re all a given and then Jeremiah had the past with Cozy and they had a strong bond already but I just found Micah to be such a pointless addition. He was her therapist, they had no real connection or reason to be together- especially since he was the only non scent match. It just felt like as a chosen alpha and not a ‘fated mate’ it should have shown them having a deeper relationship or something but it was so weak that if someone went in and deleted Micah from the story it wouldn’t make a difference. He was her therapist then suddenly her alpha, they didn’t even seem like friends or anything it was weird.

Multi pov
Omegaverse with no mm
1 omega 5 alphas
4x Scent matches, 1 chosen alpha
No owd/omd
HFN- they’re bonded so it’ll be a HEA obviously but didn’t show us the future in the epilogue

Truly a must-read!

While I love anything K.L Moore writes, Cozy’s story is really so heartwarming and beautiful. As a reader, we get to witness Cozy’s healing journey after extreme trauma and as someone who has lived through quite a bit of trauma myself, reading through Cozy’s was healing for me as well. Not only is Cozy genuinely the sweetest omega I’ve ever read (as a huge OV fan), but she has some of the best alphas as well. My favorite is Jeremiah because he has a talent for speaking very poetically with so much adoration and dedication to Cozy while also being able to dirty talk like no other! 🔥 But all her alphas are the best men that I wish I could find for myself lol!

I was extremely lucky to be able to beta-read Shattered Trinket but I promise my review is truly how I feel. This has become a comfort read for me and I suspect it will for anyone who gives this book a chance. I highly recommend, especially for the cozy 😉 holiday season!

I loved this book. The family dynamics with Cozy and her pack's families warmed my heart. Jeremiah is written so well, he protected her the best he could and Cozy feels safest with him. I honestly thought he would be the first bite and that he would cover up Victor's bite scars. I found it so funny that Zeke and Jeremiah who are the toughest in the pack are scared of the ferrets. Micah is so caring and I'm glad to see him after the book with Shade. Manny feels a bit like a background character as we don't really see Cozy and him spending time together outside of the pack but he was sweet when she had the nightmare. Ridge is a bit rigid but after bonding becomes so much cheekier like his anxiety was gone. Zeke is just like the pink yeti, giant and fuzzy. I wish we got them figuring out having kids because she obviously wants them and there are other options. Plus I wanted to see the aftermath of the cops finding her parents bodies.

A story that is equal parts pain, discovery, hope, and love

This was a highly emotional, uplifting book. It was gut-wrenching learning what Cozy went through. She had her Ghost (Jeremiah) there for her during that time, and the connection tion between Cozy and Jeremiah just leapt of the page.

I usually find that I like certain characters far above others, but in this case, they are all amazing. Cozy has suffered so much but is determined to leave that behind her. Jeremiah's sole focus was his devotion to Cozy. Micah was endlessly patient. Ridge was strong and stubborn. Zeke was so committed. Manny was steady and affectionate.

This was a beautiful story of pain, redemption, hope, and love. The side characters really brought the whole story to life in true found family style.

Drove me nuts.
How many times must I be told the same thing again and again. Every interaction comes with a complete work down of all feelings. Then we switch pov’s and it’s almost the same feelings again but mixed around. Maybe add a dash of inadequacy in there. By 40% I’m skimming through inner dialogue that I could copy and paste throughout the majority of the book.
I really liked the beginning. The personalities of all the main characters are great. I liked the damaged slant this story takes.
What I didn’t like was the excessive repetitive inner dialogue. I’m also not a big fan of sweet omegaverse. I need angst and sexual/romantic tension to keep me engaged through a book to the end. Nice people aren’t enough for me. If you’re going to give me “nice” then I need action or twisty plots to keep me.

This book left me wanting more. There was a lack of plot and had absolutely no climax to need solving. The FMC was frustrating throughout the entirety of the book. Yes she has extensive trauma and many reasons for her reactions and lack of understanding, but she spends multiple chapters complaining how she was never taught anything about being an omega, but never actually tried to learn more. Ghost spend weeks researching how to properly care for her and her trauma, yet she could never “pick up a book” to learn more about what was happening to herself?!? I love all the male characters but was extremely let down by the overall story. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen but it just kept dragging on with nothing overly engaging occurring. I understand now why it’s called the cuddleverse and it’s not for me. If you’re looking for a cozy, drama free, light romance this is for you. I found it boring and struggled through it. Ended up skimming the last 20% and stopping and starting for days just to finish. It sounds like the exciting part of her story happened in the prior books and I expected to see her heal and go through something with her men to get a satisfying payoff in the end but there’s nothing. This kindve story just isn’t my thing, I’d like to see more growth in her getting through her trauma or with the relationships she has with her men but without that it didn’t keep my attention.

So good and sweet!

You y'all will fall in love with Cozy!!! Her story is heart breaking. But this is a sweet omegaverse with dark Mentionings of the past. She Goes through amazing journey of self healing while finding her pack. A highly recommend this for anyone. I do recommend going and reading Ripley's Book that you can reference and connect some of the dotes. But this can be read as a stand-alone.
K.L. Moore has done amazing with Cozy story. As well as the others in the series But this can totally be read as a stand-alone.

This made me sad, there was so much opportunity for this to be longer and the whole thing was kind of predictable. I love Cozy, but the guys other than Ridge and Ghost weren't fleshed out at all other than their 3 word descriptions "huge but gentle" isn't enough, tell me more.
The Scottish accent was terrible as much as I loved Zeke, I just wish there was MORE. The premise was fantastic it just seemed like by about half way the author just wanted this book to be done and rushed the rest of the way

I love this author and the storyline of this book was ok. Unfortunately this one just didn’t do it for me. The first half of the book was too full of introspective rambling and I got bored and ended up skipping over those parts. The mains characters would be having a conversation, one of them would say something, and then for over 2 pages, the other character had this big internal monologue. By the time we got to the next sentence of the conversation, I barely remembered what was going on.

The 2nd half of the book did pick up and I didn’t skip over so much.

It has been a while since I was in this universe that KL Moore created and it did take me a few chapters to get back into the world. I have to remind myself of who all the characters are and try to remember what happened in the first book. Some details I just could not remember but I do think that KL Moore did a good job bringing those details to light.

This book did have hard subject matter to read. I had to shift my mindset to get through some parts and it was not like they were graphic but hearing the female lead talk about it was just hard.

I did enjoy the growth of the female lead and watching her learn about being an omega with the help of her alphas. I did enjoy her pack as well. They were all so sweet and Cozette was their world and that made me the giddiest reader ever.

I did enjoy this book and I am hoping that there is more in this universe because it is just so good.

This started out so strong and then it sort of lost me. I loved Cozy - I loved seeing her happy ending, but I just felt like this was missing *something* Some of the guys felt like they weren't really a part of her back - they were just background noise. And I wish the bonding scene had just been a little bit *more* I did enjoy this overall, but was left wishing there was more (the epilogue wasn't really an epilogue).

So...I gave this 3 stars because I LIKED it however I was a little disappointed because I felt like not all the mmc's had enough time spent on them. I loved Jeremiah and yes - I could see all the guys in my head - but I felt like they kind of got pushed to the side a bit.

Still a good book and worth reading though!

The first part of this book left me pretty tired, I understand that the FMC has a LOT of baggage and has to learn how to be herself, but every POV is a description how she's strong, beautiful, ecc...
However, the second half was more interesting and dynamic, and the boys got a little more space.

oh no

I couldnt finish. I love the first book and have read it many times. But this one is so long winded, I’m dying inside. Every moment is overly explained so many times. 200 pages in and I can’t keep reading.
It’s so freakin unfortunate.
I hope the best for cozy but I can’t tough it out any longer to find out what happens.

Good Read

I really loved reading Cozy’s story and I was so happy to see her get her story get told after her brief introduction at the end of the last book. I loved the story, I really liked how it was more slow burn and it felt like the characters deserved her love by the end as they had to work hard to earn it. The characters were great and I really loved that they were a mixed bunch of individuals. I would 100% recommend giving this book a read.

I hate hate hate when authors write reverse harems but don’t give all the guys equal-ish page time. Micah was ROBBED. He seemed so left out (and we didn’t get a SINGLE one on one sex scene with him that wasn’t during a heat.). Made me super upset. And also the end of this was very rushed and I wish the bonding scenes were more fleshed out.

Cozy is an omega who has been broken due to being kidnapped. Watching her overcome her grief and trauma was absolutely beautiful. Watching the pack help her through her trauma was even more beautiful.
