He doesn’t stop until every bad guy is broken or dead.” _________________ Readers are ★★★★★ “…non-stop action…” ★★★★★ “…fast and violent…” ★★★★★ “Blaze is the new badass in town!!” ★★★★★ “Must read! This series rocks!!”
Bill Runner worked as an investigative journalist before turning to writing novels. He grew up on a regular diet of western novels and movies about lone rangers, which influenced the shaping of Blaze. Bill is an experienced mountain climber and has been a lifelong student of martial arts. Working the crime beat and studying the art of fighting helped make him the author of thriller novels, which are known for well-executed action sequences.
A Relentless Ride with Real Grit Bill Runner knocks it out of the park with Warpath. Blaze is in top form, charging headfirst into danger with the kind of raw determination that defines elite operators. The cartel plot is terrifyingly real, and the tactical sequences are razor-sharp—Runner clearly knows his stuff. What impressed me most was how grounded the action felt. Every move had weight, every choice carried consequences. Plus, the tension with Sofia adds a surprising layer of emotion. This isn’t just another shoot-’em-up—it’s a smart, unflinching story of vengeance, justice, and grit. A total blast from start to finish.
A Relentless Ride With Blaze. Warpath pulls you into a fast-moving, bullet-fueled thrill ride from page one. The cartel is vicious, the stakes are global, and Blaze is exactly the kind of no-nonsense warrior you want leading the charge. The pacing is intense, with just enough personal moments to breathe between firefights. Runner knows how to write authentic military action without ever slowing the pace. From the streets of Tijuana to a daring op on US soil, every chapter crackles with tension. Blaze fans will love this next chapter—it’s raw, explosive, and packed with heart. Lock and load—it’s war.
This is one of my all-time favorite series. Each book keeps getting better and better. I finished this book in a day! I did not want to put it down. The author writes each book so that a reader can still enjoy it thoroughly, but I would highly recommend starting from the beginning to better understand the characters. I am not usually a fan of military style novels, but these have me hooked. Cowboy is a member of Delta Force. He and his team go about righting wrongs that, if done "strictly" by the law, would never be accomplished.
Highly recommended. Thanks to BookSirens for the ARC of this book.
This book is like a punch to the face—and I LOVED it! Yo. If you want something calm and cozy, run away now. But if you’re in the mood for straight-up mayhem, cartel chaos, and one badass dude with a grudge, Warpath DELIVERS. Axel Blaze is basically a human wrecking ball with a cause, and every chapter had me like: “OH SNAP, HE DID NOT JUST DO THAT.” It’s gritty, it’s brutal, it’s awesome. This book doesn’t just bring the heat—it is the explosion. 💥🔥💪
Warpath is a high-octane military thriller that kicks off with a cartel raid gone wrong and only accelerates from there. Captain Axel Blaze is the kind of character you root for—flawed, fearless, and absolutely unrelenting when pushed too far. What I really liked was how the action didn’t feel over-the-top; it was intense, yes, but grounded in the emotional weight of revenge and justice. It kept me turning the pages because I needed to see how far Blaze would go to get the job done.
This series never fails me. This book takes place while Blaze is still on active duty, and does a good job with developing background for a few of the minor characters in the series.
While he as dealt with the Cartel in other books, this was unique and exciting, so it did not feel like a repeat of earlier tales. The action moved quickly and was 100% what you expect from this series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Fast paced and violent. Just what you'd expect from Axle Blaze. After foiling a terrorist bombing attempt designed to kill an entire Army unit, Axle and his team find themselves on the trail of a feared Mexican drug lord.
Love the characters and the frenetic pace but sometimes skip the weapons data.
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book!!! Bill Runner is a brilliant author with a fantastic imagination and an uncanny ability for story telling. It was full of suspense, action, adventure and a lot of rooting for Axel Blaze and all of his friends and cohorts!!! I would highly recommend this series and can't wait to start the next book!!! Happy Reading!!!!
Yes, I am hopeful that there really are warriors like Axel Blaze and his men, doing what needs to be done to keep us safe. It would be seriously disappointing if there aren't.
Alex and his team go to war with a Mexican cartel leader whose is intent is to increase his business in the U.S. I really enjoyed the action and planning that went into Axel’s campaign against this narco terrorist. Looking forward to more of Axel’s exploits.
Great read and one of the best books I've read in awhile.Suspenseful Page turner, with great characters. I would recommend this to YA readers and readers who love suspense and action.

Yet another fast paced page turner from Bill Runner. I love the banter between the guys and how they get things done as efficiently as possible. I'm totally looking forward to the next book in the series.
Book 10 was a fun read and had a few errors throughout. The plot and characters are developed well. There is a lot of back and forth between locations, but it has a few fun twists in the mix.
I started with the basics, keeping my tone calm but firm. “The objective is simple: dismantle the cartel’s operational capability in Tijuana. We’ll target their leadership, logistics, and key assets. The goal is to leave them in complete disarray and take Salazar alive.”
