I should’ve known.
I should’ve listened to my gut.
But I didn’t.
I listened with the wrong head.
And where did it get me?

Secrets.
Lies.
Deceit.

She embodied them all.
Deceived her way into my company.
Lied about who she was.
Kept secrets from me after convincing me I could trust her.

Those walls she tore down are back up in full force.

Cold.
Angry.
Unforgiving.

She was no longer my intern.
She was no longer mine.

Volume 3 spans years.

I like the premise of the story but, as you can tell from my rating, I’m sad to say that in the end, the series didn’t suit me. I feel bad but, in equal measure, I've a need to be honest....

My thoughts
The writing didn’t work for me which, I think, resulted in me feeling a disconnection to the story and the characters.

I didn’t feel her anguish.

Certain elements just didn’t add up to me personally. I felt like Bentley and his team of people should've been more perceptive, after all he does run an investigative company.

The story motivation, for me, felt slightly skewed at times. The correlation is not quite right.

The reading experience is highly subjective.

To end on a positive, I liked the hero and heroine and there are readers who love this series. So please, for balance, check out the perspective of other reviewers. Here's a 5 star review from Michelle: https://t.co/MpSgZ2Mzyi

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 I LOVE BENTLEY STARS ☆☆☆☆☆

INTERN3_1

One word to describe The Intern: Volume 3 is PERFECTION!!! I couldn’t wait to start this book and so I didn’t care that I started reading this book at 1am. I had to get my Bentley fix and devoured this book in one sitting. Once I was done reading this book, I was left with a BIG FAT SMILE on my face. They say the eyes are useless when the mind is blind and so Ms. Cumberland will open our eyes in this final installment. Nothing is black and white. Love is not perfect. The truth hurts. And behind Bentley and Ceci’s eyes is a beautiful love story to be told.

INTERN3

Brooke Cumberland did an AHH-MAZZZING job with the Intern Volume Series. She did a fabulous job incorporating the right amount of love, sadness, hurt, anger, sexiness and angst. Every raw emotion was felt and literally my heart went out to Ceci and Bentley as they tried to fix their relationship. Honestly, I think Brooke must have a secret recipe when it came to writing The Intern Installments since she knew which ingredients to use to hook and beg her readers for more Bentley and Ceci. This volume series will leave readers like myself begging more for a slice BENTLEY. Forget a slice… I want Bentley all to myself. Brooke~Can I have Bentley?? **pretty please** <3 All I can say is that the Intern installments had the perfect blend of ingredients. If I were to guess Brooke’s secret recipe to The Intern, I would have to say it consisted 2lbs of love, pinch of humor, 3lbs of angst, 2 spoonfuls of broken past, 1 zest of passion, 1lb of sweetness, ¾ cups of second chances and 2lb of sexiness. Mix all those ingredients up and you got yourself an unforgettable love story!!! I adore and love this series hard. Ms. Brooke ended Bentley and Ceci’s story perfectly. So if you are looking for a fun sexy read then I highly recommend you read The Intern!! <3

The murder of a young girl’s father sends her searching for answers. When Cecila West applies to intern at Leighton Enterprises hoping to gain info about her father’s murder she has no idea what lays ahead. And one thing is for certain, she’s not exactly who she ‘claims’ to be.

Bentley Leighton has taken a position at his family’s company where he is supposed to one day take over as CEO. Yet Bentley is not exactly happy about this aspect. In fact, he would prefer to continue his career as a model traveling the world, something he loves to do.

‘How did this become my life? How did I let one girl consume me so much that I fucking missed what was right in front of me?’ -Bentley

Everything comes to a head in part three of The Intern. BIG changes are ahead for Bentley and Ceci as they face the reality of their situation on many different levels. Bentley pieces together a few things and realizes the he has to make some major decisions. Oh and he has to now tell his father he F’d up. Not an easy task knowing that the company’s entire reputation can be tarnished from his mistake.

Bentley’s past plays a big part in his choices. The only thing he knows to be true is that he fell for Ceci and she fell for him…that has to count for something right.

‘There’s a reason your past is supposed to stay in the past.
There’s a reason you want to forget. There’s a reason the past hurts.
Isn’t time supposed to heal all wounds?’
-Ceci

My Thoughts + My Rating and Why
Hmm. I was a serious mixed bag of emotions after finishing this. Depending on taste buds I am sure this third installment will not go over well for some readers. One piece of the plot fell a bit flat for me. The question is...was it just me? On the flipside EVERYTHING else met my expectations proving that I truly love all things Bentley!!!

Honestly I wavered between 3 and 4 STARS on this because a particular plot line was not followed through the way I was expecting to say the least. What worked for me was that the main characters were so lovable, I enjoyed their connection which shined in my humble opinion. Everyone may not agree but that’s okay.

WHY 3.5 STARS you ask? Well it’s simple; TWO things pull you in to this story, ONE being the forbidden romance aspect. TWO is the mystery behind Ceci’s father’s murder; unfortunately the direction seemed to swerve… I know of no other way to describe it to keep this spoiler free.

There were definitely some things that caught me off guard in volume three plot wise which weigh heavily on my rating as well. Now, the relationship itself with Bentley and Ceci I enjoyed, it was not forced or rushed. I will say this, the direction of how things went for them in particular was more than a bit shocking at first. Overall, I liked it.

I loved this series so much! This was the absolute perfect ending to the series. It was fantastic! I love Bentley and Cici and after volume 2 I was really worried about how this story could be wrapped up and give me the ending I wanted but Brooke Cumberland nailed this - the ending was awesome and unexpected! So good! Highly recommend this series!!! It's sexy, hot, mysterious and has a little angst! Fantastic!!!!!

The final installment of The Intern starts off just where part two left off. Bently knows he's been betrayed but he doesn't know the reasons why. But he isn't really interested in learning the reasons why. Ceci just wanted to get to the bottom of her father's murder... she wanted closure - she never imagined that she'd fall in love in the process.

But walking away doesn't erase the memory of what they felt, time doesn't lessen the desire, the passion or the love.

Screenshot_9

One thing that I loved about the conclusion of this story was the elapse of time, approx. two years of time allows this story to be drawn to a conclusion without rushing towards the finish line (excluding the epilogue). There were far too many things in play to have allowed this to work if, say, it was a simple few months.

One thing that kept me from really getting lost in this story was towards the end it seemed like so much of the story became about the sex. Once scene would end and then it would roll right into another one. I get the whole make up sex and reunion thing - but I found myself skimming through to get back to the dialogue and story. This one fell just a little flat compared to the first two and I the conclusion to the mystery of the father's death felt a little anti-climatic... shocking, yes but just not compared to the build up I had in my own head as I read the series.

A solid 3.5 star series in all, although the second installment I think was the star of this series.

"I knew I'd marry him. I knew he was my forever. I knew it was only ever Bentley."

I might've dropped what I was currently reading when I my copy of After The Internship on my Kindle. I tend to do that when one of my "most anticipated" books appears on my shelf. And once I started reading Bentley and Ceci, they sucked me in and I forgot what sleep is.

It is so wonderful to be with this couple again! If you haven't read all three installments in The Intern serial, now is the time to do it and wrap it all up with After The Internship.

Bentley and Ceci are back. We've read the deception that started it all, the attraction that grew into something more, the unraveling of the secrets and the heartbreak that followed, and then hem finding their way back to each other. Brooke Cumberland wrapped this serial in a shiny, glittery, sparkly package which I can say 110% that I enjoyed reading from start to end! There's still the sexy, dirty talker Bentley and the smart, beautiful and "flexible" Ceci and their sweet but hot relationship.

At the end of The Intern 3, the couple finally moved on from their lives and has been happily in love together. Now in After The Internship, we see them as in love as ever and facing a slight bump in their way to their happily ever after. This time it's not from their lies and secrets but a blast from Bentley's past. Reading how Ceci reacted and handled things, it was obvious how mature and confident she's grown of their relationship. I believe both of them matured in handling all these "couple-y" stuff; future monster-in-law, past scandals and relationships, wedding preparations, and the stress from a somewhat long-distance relationship since Bentley is traveling all the time for work.

"Aw, husband points."
"I don't need points, sweetheart. I already won the prize."

But all these challenges that they faced, they faced together, solved together, talked through together and in the end… their love deepened and their relationship flourished. This novella is such a sweet, perfect ending to the love story of now Mr and Mrs Bentley Leighton. Brooke showed us how true love can sometimes not start out perfect or even ideal but when you accept how it is, understand the circumstances and take time to heal, second chances can be sweet and the happily ever after that we dream of is possible.

Stars: 5 stars!
Recommended to: The Intern serial fans. Fans of novella serials. If you love a good romance with 100% enjoy factor, this is it!
POV: First person. Dual POV.
Series: Yes. Final installment.
EXTRA COMMENT: I'm sad to see this couple's story end but I absolutely enjoyed and loved the journey I took with them until the end. The epilogue was perfect!

Ceci’s internship at Leighton Enterprises is going strong but the deeper she gets in her relationship with Bentley, the more the guilt increases. At this point she’s head over heels in love with him, but knows her lies will never allow them to have more. She’s aware that her façade is bound to come crashing down and her real identity will reveal itself.
Even knowing that, she never realized just how much it was going to bring her world out of orbit.

“At first, I wanted to scream at myself for how stupid I was to ever let Ceci get that close o me. I should’ve known better—should’ve held my guard, but it was inevitable. My body had noticed her before my mind had a chance to catch up.”

So if you were having the same thoughts and feelings as I was after the second volume, you must’ve been pacing back and forth like a madwoman (or man?).

Bentley left us wondering what his next step was going to be and in absolute shock. Though I highly doubt we were as shocked as Bentley…
He finally found out about Ceci’s true identity and was fuming over her pile of lies.

I’m extremely invested in these two characters, and have been since they captured my heart. That’s why I’m giving this book 4 stars. However, I’m a little disappointed with the development of the mystery aspect of the story; or rather lack there of. I just didn’t feel like all the loose ends were tied up appropriately, if at all. We didn’t actually get a precise answer for her father’s murder. With the way Ceci was so hell-bent on getting answers, it strikes me as odd that she gave up without resisting more.

“You’re too late.”
“What?” he gasps, training his eyes on me still.
“You weren’t late back then, “ I clarify. “But you’re too late
now.”

Another factor that threw me for a loop was the amount of time this last serial spanned. This third installment goes through years and for me, it ruined the flow of the entire story. The parts where both characters weren’t in the scene seemed to fall flat and I hate to say I speed-read over those parts.

Again, because I love this couple, they managed to grab my attention toward the end. I got back into the story and was very happy with the ending. I will certainly miss reading about this couple’s steamy interactions and beautiful, romantic moments.
Overall, an okay ending to this installment and a great series!

In the Intern, Volume 3, Bentley and Ceci find their way back to each other and get the happily ever after that they deserve; Ceci also gets the answers she’s always needed to move on after her father’s death. All of the heartbreak and pain is worth it in the end, for these two, because they end up where they should have been all along – in each other’s arms. All romance readers love happy endings; for most, the HEAs are what keep us reading through all of the heartache the couple experiences throughout the story, and while I am one of those card carrying happily ever afterers, I also know that reality doesn’t quite happen that way, and even if a couple does reunite after a shitstorm of pain, there’s still more to be endured…more to struggle with to get to their epilogue. In After the Internship, Brooke Cumberland gives readers Bentley and Ceci’s new beginning – the one that occurs after the proposal…the one that’s not rooted completely in hearts and flowers…the one that gives perspective into the work that still needed to be done in order for Bentley and Ceci to get their storybook ending.

When the novella begins, a few years have passed, and Bentley and Ceci have settled into their committed relationship quite well. Bentley’s modeling career is in full force, and Ceci’s been traveling around the world with him, experiencing all the highs and lows that come with the famous model’s lifestyle. Ceci’s finished her degree, but she hasn’t had a chance to do anything with it, putting her focus solely on supporting Bentley and planning the wedding of their dreams. But a meddling mother-in-law, a ghost from the past, and a few tabloid headlines threaten to destroy everything Bentley and Ceci have overcome and fought to hang onto, which leads both of them to think about how they live with the outside pressures and still maintain a healthy relationship without getting frazzled and losing themselves to guilt and anger.

After the Internship is a great addition to Bentley and Ceci’s story. It gives readers one more glimpse into how good they are together, both in and outside of the bedroom. I’m sad to see their story end, but I’m glad Brooke gave them the send off they deserved!

The first three books of were good. I was excited to read this one. To know how life was treating Ceci and Bentley. Unfortunately i wasn't too happy with this novella. There were lots of unnecessary situations. Other parts were too rushed. Some parts felt like they didn't have an end.

Perfect story! I loved the ending to this three book set so much. It had all of the elements to hold you in including a childhood obsession that brought these two together. I saw them both grow in the story and suffer with it which Brooke conveyed so well, particularly using memories as well as time passing very well. She dud a wonderful job making me know and love these characters. This is a must read!

This book was absolutely the perfect ending to the series. It was definitely less about the sex in this book, now I love the sex but this was really more in the story which was PERFECT!! I felt every emotion while reading this book. Happiness, Anger, Loneliness, and Sadness. Be prepared for the mother of Ugly cries. And if you thought you needed Shamwow panties for the other two this one may call for more. Can't wait for Brooke's next book!!

***Taps the screen on her Kindle and cries***

I patiently waited for this book to make it's way onto my Kindle. Okay, that was a lie. I wasn't patient at all. I was very impatient and I am not ashamed to say it. Brooke had me completely wrapped up in the world of Bentley and Ceci. I craved more and Brooke catered to my addiction.

The Intern: Volume 3 picks up right where Volume 2 left off. Bentley is pissed, I mean like Incredible Hulk pissed.

He just found out that everything he believed was a complete lie. Ceci knows she messed up and she wants to apologize to give them both the closure they need to move on with their lives. Only Bentley being his awesome self decided to continue to help her learn more about her dad's murder.

If I didn't love Bentley before let me tell you her won me over here.

He's Mine! You Can't Have Him!

Okay, now that I cleared that up let me continue.

Years come and go and both Ceci and Bentley try to move on... the keyword is try. One night Ceci is dragged to kick boxing class where she and Bentley come face to face again. The electric energy still flows like crazy between them, their sexual tension is off the charts. There is only one problem. Ceci has a boyfriend.

Bentley is determined not to lose Ceci again. He loves her. He needs her in his life. So he does what any desperate man would do... he plays the "Let's be friends" card and Ceci falls for it hook, line and sinker. They start spending lots of time together. Both of them fighting their attraction. The sexual tension between them was hot and soon it combusted and they were all over each other. Ceci leave and Bentley feels as if his world could come crashing around him again. I screamed at my Kindle more than a few times trying to make Ceci understand she needs to be with Bentley. Let's face it they were meant to be together.

Bentley is by Ceci's side when she finally finds out the truth behind he dad's murder. It was so sad and was something I did not expect. It was so sad. Just finding out what was in the lock box had me crying like a baby.

No, I will not give you anymore information about this book you have to read this AMAZING series yourself to find out. Will Ceci and Bentley get their happily ever after? Will Ceci get closure on her father's murder? 1-Click The Intern: Volume 3 to find out all these answers and more.

Brooke did an amazing job a twisting a few story lines into on book, each given the attention it needed to make The Intern: Volume 3 an epic end to a wonderful series.

Thank God i didn't pay money for this! I read it for free, thanks to my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Let me tell you why it deserves 1.5 or 2 ★.

But let's start from the beginning. The author says that it's a *three-part romantic suspense serial.*
We have:
The Intern, Volume 1 - 100 pages: you can read my review here
The Intern, Volume 2 - 158 pages: my review
The Intern, Volume 3 - 211 pages: review here

The first two "volumes" end with major cliffhangers. In my humble opinion, when you have such short novellas, it's really not cool to use cliffhangers. Reason #1 for saying "thank God" i didn't actually buy the books.

The hero & heroine. OMG! I don't remember reading another book where i hated them both in the same time. Ok, maybe not hate, but i definitely didn't like them. Why you ask? Well, where should i start? If you haven't read my review of volume 1, let me tell you that she lies and manipulates. It appeared to be quite proud of herself to be able to do that.
And she's 18!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ceci gets a job as an intern where she seduces Bentley in the first 2 days she's there. Of course he's not able to resist her and after he fucks her, he finds out that she's hiding something. So what does he do? He believes her lies so he keeps fucking her through out the second volume. Then he finds out the truth and they separate almost all volume 3, where everything happens on fast forward. One day she's 18, the next is 1 year after and so on. So here I am, trying to get some closure after this major shit, reading and reviewing the 4th (?) volume of this *three-part romantic suspense serial.*

First of all, there's no romance. It's just sex, lies, anger, separation and stupid hero&heroine. Ok, I admit, this last part has some romance (and more sex) and it saves the whole thing from being marked as a "DFR" with 1 ★.

I forgot to mention why he's stupid. Here:

Tears begin falling down her pink-tinted cheeks. She's upset she's been caught, but perhaps more upset about losing me. Losing us? It didn't matter anymore - this is unforgivable."

He felt something was wrong all the time, but he ignored it. He find out the truth and he still thinks there was a "them" somewhere, but he's not willing to let her explain and when he does, he still doesn't forgive her. What kind of romance is this???

The funny thing is that she asks herself at some point:

WHEN THE HELL did he fall in love with me?"

Well honey, MY POINT EXACTLY! How did it all happen?

Anyways, another problem. During their hot sex there were a lot of "God", "Jesus" and "Christ" + Bentley/Ceci. Can we get more creative than that? I'm so far from being religious, but calling God and His family 10 times in one page, seems a little bit too much.

This 4th volume is their HEA. Which could have been nice enough, if there wasn't for that forced and unnecessary drama. The whole thing was a major drama, why add more? Why add more that doesn't make sense?

I don't know if I painted a complete picture for you, but I feel was a lost day from my life with this stupid thing. At least the sex has hot, even with God & Jesus Christ always there. :)

I’ve had all of Brooke Cumberland’s books on my kindle forever but never got to reading her work until this morning. And after finishing the entire “The Intern” series all throughout the day I find myself sitting her baffled, thinking “Why did it take me this long to finally read her work?” Ceci and Bentley’s story was just … all-consuming!

In the third book, Ceci leaves for college (for real this time). I expected her to be excited – beginning a new chapter in her life but she leaves sad and heartbroken. If you’ve read the previous books you know that she is mostly at fault with what occurred between them but I couldn’t help but think that Bentley could have made different choices.

Just like Ceci, Bentley tries to move on but being the one left behind it is even more difficult. Everywhere he goes he is reminded of her and what they had. Because of this he decides to make a comeback in his modeling career. While the traveling and the lifestyle itself seems to help – he continues to crave her and still thinks of her constantly.

Years pass and while he has his means to get in touch with her he thinks that she has moved on. It takes one coincidental encounter and they find themselves rekindling their relationship as friends. Disappointed? I was but Already in a relationship, Ceci isn’t willing to give more to him even if her heart knows otherwise.

” I love you. I love you so fucking much, it’s pained me not to say those words every single day to you. I knew I did, but I didn’t know how to handle it.”
This is one of the major reasons why I loved this series. Cecilia was simply magnificent. From the very beginning I admired her intelligence, maturity, drive and her motivation. She really wasn’t your typical teenager. She should have been busy socializing, worrying about prom and boys but her priority was always finding closure. She literally would have done anything to find out why her father was murdered.

Since the series was told over a couple of years (which another thing that I liked) we witness her further grow and mature into womanhood. During that time some difficult decisions had to be made and she always seemed to make the right choices especially when it came to her relationships.

Bentley on the other hand was different. I have to admit that I felt a little unsettled with how their romance started. It really wasn’t just the age thing that made it a tad awkward. In addition to that it was also the fact that he was her boss. After I got used to the idea of them together though it was all uphill from there. I thought they were amazing together. Although she was not as experienced as Bentley when it came to that part of their relationship her degree of maturity, acceptance and willingness made up for it. Even after years of separation their chemistry never wavered and for me it was all fantastic.

I also loved the twist that at the end. I’m trying my best not to spoil it for anyone. All I can say about it is that I never in a million years would have been able to predict that entire scenario. Who would have even thought that something like that even be possible yet it made perfect sense.

I immensely enjoyed Cecilia and Bentley’s story. The plot and story flow was terrific. All three parts were captivating. For me, this series had everything that I look for in a romance novel and in my opinion well worth looking into.

I'll be totally honest and say that I was really worried when I saw Brooke was releasing this novella. I was happy with the way The Intern serial ended and I thought a novella after the series could only mean unnecessary drama. I'm so glad I was wrong. Yes, this novella did have a little drama, but only enough that it kept it interesting. It was awesome to get more Ceci and Bentley. I loved this so much! I love the connection and chemistry between these characters. Also, this was HOT! Very, very, very HOT!!! If you loved The Intern, you are going to LOVE this novella!

Omg there was SO much anxiety reading this one! It was GOOD anxiety, but anxiety none the less!

This was exactly what I needed when it came to this couple! It would be the perfect conclusion if there weren’t another novella directly after it. Typical Brooke...

But seriously! This one was FULL of tons of sexy and swoon worthy times it’ll demand all of your attention!

Eeeeppp! This final book of The Intern was a bit different than I was expecting but so so good. It picks up right where the Intern 2 left off.Bentley is shocked to learn Ceci's true idenity and feels so betrayed and used from her lies. He cannot believe he let it happen again, let another woman take advantage of him to gain information. Throughout this book, Bentley struggles with his career choices as well as continues to battle his feelings for Ceci.

I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Bentley. Seriously, he is not like the typical Alpha males that we usually read about. He is not the playboy partying type who drowns himself in women and booze when he is going through rough times. But at the same time he is still strong and dominating. He is the perfect mix of everything I love in a leading male character,

Ceci is wrecked. She is sickened and sad with the way things have turned out. She knows she deserved everything she got but it still hurts. Bentley was her first real love and she doesn't know how to let that go

This book takes you though several years of Bentley and Ceci's lives. We see their struggles to move on and get over one another. The mystery of Ceci's dad brings them together in an effort to find out the true story of her past but they are both still so hurt and bitter...the only thing left to say is "goodbye."
Then, after a chance meeting several years after the inital "breakup", Ceci and Bentley see each other again but things have changed. Ceci has seemed to move on but Bentley can't seem to do the same. The intensity and chemistry between the two is explosive and there is no denying it.

They both need to make choices where they stand with one another. They can't seem to stay away from each other but it's too late for them to be anything more than just...friends.

This book was an unexpected twist for me in some ways but all in all it was a great conclusion to their story. I am so sad to see this series end. I am not ready to say goodbye to Bentley and Ceci yet. Their forbidden romance is one of my favorites.

Don’t let one mistake keep you from taking on the world.

It’s such a great piece of advice, but what happens when that one error destroys two lives in the process. How can you battle everything humanity throws at you, when you would have to start by taking on yourself – the one person who took things too far and lost everything because of it?

This is the state Ceci finds herself in as The Intern, volume three begins.

Bentley knows the truth – or at least enough of it to figure out that everything they have has been built on a mountain of lies. And, if you remember how the saying goes…fool me once, shame on you…fool me twice – well, let’s just say Bentley refuses to allow a third time from happening, and he does what he needs to do to ensure that doesn’t ever occur again – he removes Ceci from all aspects of his life.

But how do you forget someone who you can still taste and feel…someone whose memory resonates in your heart and in your soul? Time and distance seem to be the only way, but even that doesn’t take away the pain and the depression from losing the one person you thought completed you.

Is there any hope for a fresh start for Ceci and Bentley? And what about her father’s case…how do you come back from losing not only the love of your life but the only real chance you had of getting the answers you so desperately need for closure?

Dive in to The Intern, volume three and see how everything plays out.

I have been anxiously anticipating the final chapter in Ceci and Bentley’s story since I finished volume two. Brooke sent out the ARCs last night, and as soon as I woke up, I began devouring the text, and let me tell you, readers will be able to tell that Brooke put her heart and soul into giving us a beautiful conclusion.

The final volume is about so much more than Ceci and Bentley’s shattered relationship. It’s about their growth as individuals, both emotionally and mentally. It’s about them learning the value of forgiveness and the worth of living their lives for themselves. It’s about figuring out if love can continue to be unconditional even after such a betrayal. It’s about a young girl’s journey to find out the truth about her hero and learning to accept whatever information is learned.

It’s a beautifully written story with well developed main characters that readers can’t help but root for as they try to figure out if and how they can be back in each other’s lives after all of the lies and pain they have caused each other. Brooke does a great job of showing how deeply both Ceci and Bentley were affected by their break up and then illustrates their attempts at reconnecting through not only their words but also the sexual intimacy that has always allowed them to completely express their feelings for one another.

The Intern is one of my favorite serials out there! Definitely a must read!

I was seriously looking forward to reading this instalment of this serial series! It was the final one and I knew that everything was going to wrapped up! Plus, the ending of the last serial was the moment I had been waiting for and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next! This serial was brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! I wasn't quite sure how it was all going to pan out, but the author did a fantastic job! I loved absolutely everything about the plot! There was a lot in it too and there was always something going on! I also loved that it took place over such a long time! This gave the main characters the chance to grow, which was amazing to see! There were also plenty of super sexy scenes in this serial! I was expecting some and the author definitely delivered! Overall, the plot was amazing and I loved every minute of reading it! The characters were again amazing! Ceci was again the main female character and it was kinda weird seeing her in a college environment and her sort of living her life away from the guy she really loved! I loved seeing Ceci in this environment though because it reminded me that she was young and that she was in college! I probably loved Ceci the most in this serial than what I did in the others! I felt like she had grown a lot and she was a better person than what she was at the beginning of this series! I just loved her changes and I loved the person she had become! Bentley was again the main male character and he was completely different in this serial to what he was in the others! He was calmer and he wasn't as controlling and domineering! Well, until you got to the sex scenes lol! I liked the calmer side to Bentley because it showed how he felt and what he reacted like when he wasn't in control! Just like Ceci, Bentley had grown a lot since the first serial in this series too! I just loved him in this serial because I think he learned a lot about himself and he started doing something that he enjoyed instead of doing what his family expected of him! He was super hot in this serial too, of course ;) I can't believe that this is the last serial in this series! But what a series it has been! There's been love, loss and lies, but everything worked out in the end! I have definitely loved this series and the ending was pretty insane as well! I mean, how could the author end the series like that! I wish the author had sort of summed up the ending to Ceci and Bentley's story more, but the ending was really good! Plus, there's always the chance of another serial series or for a book for characters from this series that Ceci and Bentley could appear in! I doubt it will happen, but you never know! The cover for this book is so hot! I love it so much and I also love how well it suits the other covers in the series! Big thank you to Brooke for an ARC of The Intern, Volume 3!

4 Bentley Stars!

Whew! This has been quite a ride from Volume 1 where Ceci pretended to be her older sister to get into Leighton Enterprises to Volume 2 where every lies and secrets unraveled and now… now… we see how Ceci and Bentley handled the deception and the mystery behind Ceci West’s secret.

Like with the first 2 installments, The Intern Volume 3 is full of charm, mystery, and steam! I enjoyed reading the time apart that these 2 stubborn characters spent. I saw how they dealt with everything that has happened, how they both felt and and what they think of the situation that they got themselves in and I appreciate it seeing all those thoughts separately and not them as a couple. Although that part was not bad. Not bad at all. But you know how you’d rather see them grow as a person apart and eventually working out things together than them work so hard to keep the relationship but it will be full of angst and distrust? Yep, that’s it.

Ceci and Bentley figured out that they’re better together, no matter how cliché that sounds. All those months, years apart they were apart made them realize how deep their feelings for each other has become in the span of time they spent when Ceci was an intern. It’s beautiful to read second-chance love stories. I’m really a sucker for that. Love is indeed sweeter the second time around. I love how when they saw each other again, they did not play around. They were more serious and mature in handling the past and I love that there’s no pushing and pulling in their “reunion”.

And two heads are better than one, with them together, they find answers for Ceci’s questions. The now 10-year long search as to who might have been responsible for her Dad’s murder and what really happened that day came to a closure. At last. This part is where I felt a bit disappointed. With the suspense and mystery build-up from the first 2 books, I felt like the “reason” behind it was just too simple and all the suspense was just that… for suspense.

But overall, all the things I loved in Volumes 1 and 2 are still present in this book and Bentley is still as swoony hot as ever!

Stars: 4 stars!

It's tortuously angsty, it's sexy and swoony. It also gives us the answers we were looking for.

In this third and last installment of the serial, Bently has found out the truth about Ceci. Perhaps not the whole truth but enough ugly parts to have him seething, drowning in feelings of betrayal and humiliation mixed with the undeniable ones of fondness, affection and attraction which leave him in turmoil.
“I’m living in a constant battle between wanting her and hating her.” ~ Bently

But Bently wasn’t the only one affected by Ceci’s choice. At first she had been willing to do anything to get what she wanted, the closure she needed. She never counted on falling in love, and after the betrayal there was only regret.
“I’ve never felt more regret than I did these past few weeks, replaying every decision in my head over and over… The damage is done—I’ve hurt him and there’s nothing I can do to change that.” ~ Ceci

Except may be time to heal the wounds caused. I so very much loved that Brooke didn't give us a fast easy fix to the problems surrounding Ceci and Bently. It was slow and painful.
“I was angry and broken, and I didn’t even want to live a life without you, yet I had to learn how because it was my only option.” ~ Bently

But then it was sweet and it felt real because it wasn’t strained or hurried, it was almost like a second chance romance.
Who knew Bentley could be so tender and sweet, yet domineering and hot. ~ Ceci

I had a difficult time with my rating and review. The attraction and steam was definitely there, but that’s not why I got hooked. I loved the suspense revolving Ceci’s fathere’s murder. The fast pace generated by Bently and Ceci’s banter and quick wit and of course their no-no liaison from the first two installments. I understand that changes had to be made. They just caught me by surprise. But I was won over by the way their relationship evolved and the way they matured. I also liked that Brooke answered all our questions and tied old and new loose ends.

Brooke Cumberland, you genius you! The Intern serials has become one of those sexy, fast-paced reads that you just want to devour over and over again! It’s amazing just how much goodness Ms. Cumberland put in such small packages. Just like the first two in the series, I consumed this VERY quickly. I was so eager to see what would happen next between Ceci and Bentley after the bombshell was dropped in the previous book. And just like in Brooke Cumberland fashion, she kept me on my toes the whole way through.

❝No matter how far away I am, or how many miles I put between her and me, it doesn’t matter. I still feel her.❞

Can you forgive the unforgivable? Can you excuse the inexcusable? The Intern, Volume Three takes us through life after lies and deceptions ripped apart two people who were made for each other. Bentley is no stranger to finding out that the one he loves has lied to him, so why the hell did it hurt so much, when he found out Ceci was no different? He let her break down his walls only to have him rebuild them even stronger after her deception. The thing is, he doesn’t want the walls back up. He wants Ceci, heart and soul, but life and other obstacles have gotten in the way over all of these months. The connection they have is too strong to deny, and when they finally get to a place where there is no longer anything in the way…FIREWORKS! Hot, sexy, beautiful FIREWORKS!

The Intern by Brooke Cumberland has everything you would ever want in a fun, sexy, erotic romance! Bentley and Ceci’s love story is amazing and beautiful, and it definitely didn’t come easy. These two have been through so much, and they deserved their happily ever after. Erotic romance at its finest, The Intern Volumes 1-3 is a MUST READ Series for the summer! Ms. Cumberland takes us on a wonderfully, complicated journey full of amusement, sadness, heartache, and beauty. I guarantee you will absolutely love this series!

Sigh...
I don't even know where to start. I am so happy and sad all at once. It was bitter sweet. I don't want this to end and PS- I feel like there is still ONE more book. We need to see what happens after that epilogue. But it was beautiful. I truly love this series. It is one of the best I have read and I love Ceci and Bentley. God do I love Bentley... I want to do dirty, dirty things to him ALL night long. Sigh.

Now back to the story. We leave off from part 2 and Bentley is PISSED and rightfully so. God I was so excited to see how he handled this and he did not disappoint. As much as it killed me how he felt, I loved it at the same time. Ceci realized she messed up and it's too late to fix the situation. After everything that happens between them he still helps her. Comes up with basically nothing, but still, the man loved her and still was there for her. Like I knew he WOULD. Because Bentley is that amazing. Years go by and the two see each other here and there and then one day she turns up where he trains at and all those years go downhill. Ceci has a boyfriend now, but the two try and be "friends" but we all know how well that will go over, right!?! right!! the two have a long road to get to where they are at the end, but it was a beautiful ending and I couldn't hope for anything more from the series or these two. Well of course one more book. PLEASE!! :-) :-) it was a truly amazing series and I hope for more. If not, it will stay in my heart and mind forever and I will re-read it many, many times. Thank you for this amazing series and characters. It was a true story of love, forgiveness, hope, redemption, second chances and so so much more. I truly think everyone will be very happy with the last installment.

"No matter how much time has passed or how much hurt we've felt- it's always been you. And I woke up this morning not wanting to spend another day apart from you,"
"I love you, Bentley. I always have."

"Please let me. I want to be here for all of it. I want all of you."
