Discover your authentic, soulful desires and create a life inspired by your wildest dreams, filled with the passion and purpose to become the best version of yourself.
**I am reviewing this book on behalf of NetGalley, but the thoughts are my own.**
This book is intimidating at first glance. I started reading it to follow along step by step. In my mind, I'd be able to responsibly report what I read by the end of the twelve-week process. But by week 4, I realized if I tried to follow every exercise, I’d not finish in time. Because this isn’t just a book — it’s a workbook. Emphasis on the work. Each chapter includes weekly and some daily action items, such as multiple deepening exercises, guided meditations, journaling prompts, the Five Points of Light meditation, the JET SET exercise, Dream Activation, dream detecting, insight work, and action steps towards your Soul Goals. There are a lot of tools. Given the twelve-week structure and the depth of the work, it feels more like a course than a traditional self-help book.
Here’s the thing: it works. I used to think I barely dreamt, but after starting this book, the floodgates opened. I went from remembering almost nothing to recalling up to five dreams a night with near-perfect clarity. Sometimes they’d even resurface later in the day as déjà rêvé. Over the four weeks I actively followed along, I had more than 120 dreams to work with. I filled an entire composition book in a month and had to switch to Google Keep to keep everything organized. I couldn’t always connect the dots after doing the JET SET system as suggested, so at the end of the month, I turned to ChatGPT to help me see patterns I might have missed. Then I did a second pass to ask for analysis through a Jamaican cultural lens, and it revealed themes about taking steps forward I never would have uncovered alone.
One deceptively simple but powerful process is how she teaches you to seal in your dreams before you even reach for your notebook or phone. It works, and it’s changed my mornings.
As I mentioned, the process is intense. Some exercises are meant to be nightly, and I didn’t always manage to keep up. I’ve got action steps waiting to be revisited. Even though I only tried a few guided meditations so far, I plan to record them so I can listen while falling asleep. That alone could take the practice even deeper. I fully intend to reread this book and follow the 12-week process more faithfully.
By the later weeks, I felt some fatigue. Thankfully in Week 11, the chapter on falling dreams completely shifted my perspective. I’ve always believed falling dreams meant “lack of control,” but the author’s interpretation added richness I really valued.
The one place I felt let down was in the same chapter, where she compares Quetzalcoatl mythology of the Snake, Human, and Eagle with her schema of Caveman, Ego, and Angel. The parallel felt flat and, honestly, a bit like cultural whitewashing. Another drawback: the quotes. There are so many scattered throughout the chapters—sometimes only a few sentences apart. It felt like overkill, and by the midway point of the book, I lost count at 50.
Overall, if you treat this book like a course and commit to the work, it’s an incredibly rewarding experience. Even in just four weeks, I gained a deeper connection to my dreams, uncovered hidden themes, and built a system I want to return to. It’s demanding, but for anyone curious about dreamwork and willing to do more than just skim a few tips, this book will give you tools that last well beyond the twelve weeks.
As someone who’s long been fascinated by the power of manifestation, Dreamifesting offers a refreshing and intriguing twist: what if your nighttime dreams held the key to unlocking your dream life? Kelly Sullivan Walden, a seasoned dream expert, invites readers to go beyond vision boards and affirmations and dive into the subconscious realm where transformation truly begins.
What sets this book apart is its fusion of metaphysical spirituality with practical, step-by-step guidance. The 12-week program Walden outlines isn’t just another self-help checklist—it’s a journey into the dreaming mind, designed to help readers rewire limiting beliefs and tap into resources that often go unnoticed in waking life. The idea that your dreams can “do the heavy lifting” of manifestation is both empowering and deeply poetic.
I’m still working my way through the program, and while I haven’t yet mastered dream recall (a challenge Walden acknowledges and addresses), I’m already noticing a shift in how I approach my intentions. The exercises are accessible, and the tone is encouraging without being preachy. It feels like having a wise, mystical coach whispering in your ear while you sleep.
If you’ve ever felt like traditional manifestation techniques weren’t quite enough—or if you’re simply curious about the untapped wisdom of your dreams—this book might be the missing piece. It’s not just about dreaming big; it’s about dreaming smart.
Thank you, St. Martin's Press, for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Okay, Dreamifesting by Kelly Sullivan completely blew my mind. I’ve always had weird, vivid dreams and knew they meant something but I just couldn’t figure them out. This book changed that. Not only did it help me understand the deeper meanings behind my dreams, but it also gave me tools to actually use them to manifest the life I want. Like… what?! I love the power of manifesting and this book combines learning more about my dreams and using them to get further in life and obtain the life I want, which is really exciting.
The 12 week program in the book is approachable and empowering. It’s not just theory; it’s practical, soulful guidance that really gets you in tune with your subconscious mind. I’ve already started remembering my dreams more clearly and actually feel like they’re helping guide me toward goals I didn’t even know I had.
If you’re into manifestation, self-discovery, or just want to make sense of all the bizarre stuff that happens while you sleep, you NEED to read this. Dreamwork just leveled up, and I’m here for it.
Dreams as messages. Dreams as tools. Dreams as power. ✨💤💫
Thank you to NetGalley, Kelly Sullivan, and St. Martin’s Essentials for the eARC of this book.
I was intrigued by the topic so I decided to give the book a read. It is a 12 week journey and it is really interesting. I don’t subscribe to manifesting necessarily because I believe there is more work required than people realize. So I was pleasantly surprised by the content in this book.
If this topic intrigues you and you’re up to the commitment, give the book a read, give it a time and see how it works for you. But it is utterly fascinating, regardless of what you believe on the topic. Quite frankly, you will walk away really questioning yourself if you are at all skeptical.
I am delighted to have received an advance reader's copy of "Dremifesting...."! I have always been fascinated with dreams and I love the way this book provides an organized manner to in a sense 'harness" the power of your dreams. I have only skimmed the book from beginning to end at this point, but I have a good sense of what it will be like to read from cover to cover. While the book is a bit longer and more indepth than I expected, I think it will be fun to explore.
We all sleep and dream. What if we can harness our dreams to help us manifest our most important goals?
This book will guide readers to do that. It gives a 12-week program to helping us "dreamifest" our goals into reality. Each week includes various exercises and reflective prompts. If one follows the program, whether in 12 weeks or longer, it will likely help you gain clarity and confidence, as well as be able to manifest your goals.
This a perfect book for this time in my life. A lot of hard things have happened this year. My optimism for life is very low.It has a 12 week plan to follow. There are times when I feel paralyzed by too many problems There are quizzes to help you. I Think my dream festing has been very bad and this is an awesome book and it explains everything
Dreamifesting changed how I relate to my subconscious. Before reading it, I rarely remembered my dreams and had no idea what they meant. Now, I wake up more connected to my emotions, and it feels like I’ve discovered a new language for manifestation, almost as if I'm having direct conversations with the universe while I sleep.
