this was such a cute little book to start the year with 🥹 i wanted this as soon as i saw it in the shop and my love surprised me with a copy for christmas!! very quick read with the cutest art, i loved every page!
Delightful book of illustrations of dogs accompanied by sweet affirmations. Easy to picture my sweet Hartsel thinking each of these thoughts. You’d be hard pressed to find a dog lover who isn’t charmed by this book. So thankful for the galley and eager to pick up a copy with colored in illustrations when it comes out in October.
Our dogs have a lot to teach us. We just have to pay attention.
Super cute read that all dog owners will be able to relate to ❤️It's filled with wonderful sayings and affirmations that will remind you of what truly matters, to appreciate the small things, and to shift your perspective. A very wholesome mood-lifter!
Adorable book with such cute illustrations! This book was so much fun to read and go through. Would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a good book that will make you smile!
I won an advance copy of this book in a good reads competition. It's a charming affirmation book in the perspective of our beloved four legs family members. The illustrations are darling. I had a few good chuckles reading the affirmations. My favorite was a doxie with the affirmation. "One day, I will be able to reach the kitchen table." The book mentions how we can look at our dogs as mentors of gratitude. I could not agree more!
Just by looking, listening, sniffing, and sensing, we can learn so much from our dogs. They don’t say, “It’s a dog’s life” for nothing. No, it seems that our furry four-legged friends have caught onto something about the ways of the world, and we muddled and befuddled humans would be wise to follow their lead.
In her beautifully illustrated and concise self-help book, Andrea Caceres has brought to life the wisdom of dogs through a series of affirmations. If your dog could stand in front of a mirror and manifest what they want from the world, what would they say? From, “Nap time will not be disturbed today,” to “Today, I deserve infinity pets,” Caceres brings humor and heart to our dogs’ lives, reminding us to relish in the joys of the simple things and to never pass on the opportunity to have a little fun, a long nap, or a tasty treat.
Accompanying each affirmation is a positively adorable illustration of a dog bringing forth what he or she wants out of life. The illustrations feature a wide variety of breeds and are the best part of this heartwarming book. Who doesn’t love to look at cute cartoons of dogs?!
This book would make a wonderful gift or personal purchase for anyone who loves dogs and needs a little reminder here and there to be more like them. For anyone who has ever loved a dog, this book is a sweet reminder that this is their world, and we’re just living in it … and loving every second with them.
Thank you @bloomsburybooksus for the #gifted copy #Ad💖.
This is by far one of the most adorable and heartwarming little books I’ve ever read, and its simple charm accomplishes so much!
As a lifelong dog lover, I never got my first dog until my late twenties (once married and living on my own), because my parents were never dog people. I begged for one as a kid, but ended up with birds, rabbits, and who knows what else I barely remember 😂. When I finally got my first dog, it was a big transition, since I had only ever taken care of myself. But once I got the hang of it, I was hooked. Since then, dogs have held a special place in my heart ❤️ .
Dog Affirmations by Andrea Caceres is an adorable, fun, and beautifully illustrated book full of wisdom and humor, from your dog’s perspective. It feels like it was designed to help you live your most authentic and joyful life. Caceres gets into how dogs live their lives, and encourages us to reflect on what they might be thinking. The book is super sweet!
Each page is filled with positivity, humor, and heartwarming insight into the special bond between humans and their dogs, and it is just a joy to read. I feel that it is something that dog lovers of all ages will appreciate and treasure. It’s a perfect little gift or stocking stuffer for the dog lover in your life. This book is definitely a reminder that we can all learn so much about living fully, simply, and joyfully from our dogs.
☺️🐕 Trochę tulasków, drzemka, kilka spotkań z ogoniastymi psijaciółmi i tymi ludzkimi też 😜, spacerek pełen przygód to kwintesencja przyjemności i szczęścia. ❤️☺️
As I was looking through the comics and graphic novels section on Libby I came across Dog Affirmations and of course, I immediately added it to my Interested tag. I’m a big dog lover and if I see a comic or graphic novel about dogs or someone’s dog, chances are I’m going to want to read it. So here we are and I regret nothing! I absolutely loved Dog Affirmations, it was beyond wholesome and cute, I was eating up the pages as fast as I could flip them. This was beautiful, Andrea Cáceres perfectly captured how amazing and wonderful dogs are, she understands them and her own dog so well and if you love dogs, you’ll love this. Dog Affirmations was silly at times, but it had a lot of wisdom to it too and truly touched me — I’m so glad I found it and I’ll keep an out for more from Andrea Cáceres in the future!
This is most definitely a gift book - one of those books you buy during the holidays, or graduations, or some other life event when you have to buy a gift but can't really figure out what to buy.
The affirmations are cute. I felt like the words were placed oddly on the page (so that some were hard to read). It does offer some advice which could be useful - such as, think about life from your dog's perspective. And I think, overall, the idea of thinking like someone else is an exercise the world could use more of. But I still found myself at the end of this book going "Meh, this is okay." (I have not read the author's previous works and have nothing to compare it to there, either.)
Thank you to Bloomsbury Publishing for the gifted copy of Dog Affirmations (and for the adorable goodies that came with it!). It’s out now!
I sat down to flip through this one when it arrived and ended up reading the whole thing in one go. It’s a picture book filled with dogs repeating words of affirmation to themselves (awww), so it’s a quick, easy, and absolutely charming read. There were pages that made me laugh out loud, a few that made me sigh, and plenty that made me quietly chuckle to myself.
This would make such a great gift for any dog lover this holiday season or a sweet pick for a gift exchange. I’m already planning to read it to my 3-year-old nephew when he visits next weekend!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury for providing a complimentary copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.
This is a short and adorable account of what could possibly be going through a dog's mind at any time. In a roundabout way, having a sneak peak into a pet's mind is indicative of the bond between man and man's best friend. Not only does this title explore the relationship between a dog and its owner, but it also explores the necessity of living a life similar to a dog. Dogs always live in the present. They love unconditionally. They see the beauty in everything. This was a great way to get the audience to think about how they're living their lives - are they living a life focused more on the past/future? Are they living a life not realizing what is going on around them?
Owning a dog myself, this really put things in perspective. Our pets are not distracted by cell phones and social media; they're not judging everyone and everything around them. They are just happy little four-legged babies who love nothing more than their human, food, and play.
We can learn a lot from our best friends. (Though I really don't want to roll in something stinky.)
Every now and then, dogs, like their human pals, need to look in the mirror and remind themselves, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!"
"Today I deserve infinity pets."
This little book would make a swell gift for any dog lover. It's humorous, charming, and serves as a terrific reminder to live each day to the fullest. (And, smelliest.)
Just remember, for a dog, every day is the BEST DAY EVER!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishing for sharing this.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is quite adorable. The illustrations are cute. The affirmations get to the heart of dogs' personalities. Good book for dog lovers. I'm not an affirmation type person but this is a winner when it's coming from dogs' perspectives.
This was so perfectly executed! As a dog parent and a lover of all dogs, I found every illustration and phrase to be so accurate. It was equal parts moving, funny, deep and light. The messages conveyed and the personal stories were so lovely. I had the best time reading this!
This book is what the title says. It’s affirmations for dogs. The illustrations are fine if not a little childish. And the affirmation that is being written in crayon can at times be hard to read. This book is fine. It’s one of those that feels like it’s being published to get your money but then you get at home and go. Why did I buy this. Like I said this book is fine.
I’ve been following Andrea on Instagram forever, and I preordered her book the second it was announced. This was everything I hoped it’d be and more — you’ll smile, you’ll laugh, and you’ll cry. Tobi is the stubborn, adorable diva we all strive to be. Prepare to be sick of me at Christmas — you’re all getting this in your stocking !!
This is a cute book for dog lovers. Mostly told through the eyes of dogs with their positive affirmations about getting treats or more playtime. I think it’s a great gift book. I got it for my step-mom. It also includes short essays telling humans how they can learn from the dog affirmations.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bloomsbury for the advanced copy.
Can we just talk about how completely ADORABLE this books is. Oh I loved it so much. The art was simple and perfect for the affirmations. This really did make me appreciate my dogs even more. We are very much lucky to have a dog that loves us.
What a fun book. I loved all the affirmations and could see my dog thinking these things. I also enjoyed the illustrations, and their simplicity added to the feel of the book. A good gift for a dog lover or I would read this to my grandson too.
