Juliet Nightingale isn't feeling herself after a lightning strike. She's recovered but feels something is missing from her life. She decides to take a last-minute road trip and ends up in Forget-Me-Not, Alabama. That's where she meets Tallulah, a newly divorced single mom trying to get on with her life. She works at the town library, where books are magic; they keep lost memories. As Juliet and Tallulah's lives connect, they learn that healing takes courage, and if you open your heart, help can come in the most unexpected ways.

This book came to me at the best possible time. I have read a few duds and a couple of mediocre books recently, but this one has renewed my faith in fiction. This book was enchanting, and I loved how the characters showed such emotional vulnerability and strength in equal measure. This book is a celebration of women helping women, love, memory, and how stories can connect us across generations. The characters have excellent backstories, and I resonated with them. They were so relatable, and so were their struggles. The storytelling is charming, and the library itself is a character; it became a place I would love to visit. It was where the past and present weave together in such meaningful ways. I won't soon forget the lessons learned from this book, like why it is important to let go and discover yourself. As sad as some of the story was, it was ultimately very uplifting. This heartwarming story was like a hug in book form. It showed the importance of female friendship, second chances, and believing in magic. From the second I got to the charming town of Forget-Me-Not, Alabama, I was enamoured by the endearing characters who captured my heart.

If you enjoy books about women at a crossroads in their lives who find solace and strength through their friendship, this is the book for you. Webber's writing is lovely, and she paints a vivid picture of a small-town community and a magical library. It's a reminder that it's never too late to find hope or a way back to happiness. It left me with a smile on my face and an appreciation for the simple things in life, even if some of them are magical. It was a very uplifting and emotional story.

The Forget-Me-Not Library is a delightful story with characters that warm your heart and soul. I’ve never been to Alabama, but reading this story feels like a visit there. The featured pets are adorable, especially Deckle, the library cat🐈‍⬛pictured on the book cover, who has a significant role in this story. I love how this story highlights the connection between memories and storytelling, and weaves magical moments throughout.

An immersive read with the advanced reading and listening copies, the audio is narrated by Hallie Ricardo and Stephanie Willis, who give this Southern Fiction story an authentic regional feel and a great listening experience.

The Forget-Me-Not Library is not the first book I've read by this author. I also read and enjoyed At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities several years ago. Both books have similar themes of the power of friendship, healing from grief and trauma, and accepting change. I will continue reaching for Webber's backlist of uplifting books with touches of magic!

♥ My Overall Thoughts ♥

The Forget-Me-Not Library is a novel that I will never forget! It is such a heartwarming, uplifting and wonderful read. This came with an incredible storyline, lovable characters, great quotes and a beautiful friendship. I found the two main female characters to be quirky, sweet and understanding. It was a relaxing read that was filled with magical elements. This story made me feel happy, cry a lot and even made me laugh! I found this story to be extremely thought provoking. This is a medium paced read that has strong character development!

It comes with dual points of views, animals, and even a splash of romance! The story flows well, is well structured and is engaging. It is an easy to read book that is both plot and character driven. It expresses the flaws of the characters as the main focus. It is about second chances, healing, having human connections and finding your own purpose and meaning in life! I loved the small town vibes! This book will leave you feeling joyful and inspired!

Imagine you’re driving somewhere, and a detour brings you to a little village… just in time for your car to break down. There, you meet people who tell you it wasn’t a coincidence for you to be stuck in this town - you’ve got some healing to do.

This book was such a feel good, hopeful read. Every character is just so charming and the setting is enchanting. Deckle the cat was the best.

The pacing was great, the storyline progressed perfectly. I couldn’t get enough! The romance was sweet and slow burn. It progressed from friends to lovers and was cute and realistic. I was rooting for every one of the romances!

I was 25% in once I realized I needed to read this book. It was just… so relatable. The healing parts - especially the fact that it’s not linear and it’s messy - were something I needed to be reminded of.

There’s multiple types of griefs depicted in this novel (death of a loved one, divorce, missed opportunity, long term plan not working out, failed expectations in regard to other people, etc.), all woven in by some absolutely heartwarming, well done magical realism. I couldn’t recommend this enough.

This was such a sweet story with a bit of magical realism. I enjoyed getting to know our characters and following them as they worked through what they needed to.

We have two main characters in this one. The first is Juliet Nightingale. She was taking a road trip after a recent tragedy when she somehow ended up in the town of Forget-Me-Not in a broken down car.

Our other main character is Tallulah Byrd Mayfield. She has two young children and has recently gone through a divorce. She moved back to Forget-Me-Not and is working at the local library.

We have a fun and lovable group of side character in the story, including a library cat that knocks books off of shelves in order to help people unlock memories.

This is a relatively light and easy read. It is a clean love story and a found family story with characters that need to find their paths and become unstuck. There is growth and family in a small town and all that comes with it. Reading this just generally makes you feel good.

I had both the ebook and audiobook narrated by Hallie Ricardo & Stephanie Willis. They both did a wonderful job and the audio was pleasant to listen to.

Sometimes the magic isn't in the destination, but in the detour.

As Tallulah Byrd Mayfield and Juliet Nightingale discover, there’s magic to be found at the crossroads of where we’ve been and where we still need to go.

Where is this crossroads?

Forget-Me-Not, Alabama.

It’s a soft landing for those like these two women who’ve lost their way.

Juliet arrives here as a result of re-evaluating her life after an accident and Tallulah finds her way here after a divorce. Both women give readers hope and encouragement to keep journeying and take our eyes off the roadbumps.

I love (1) that what begins as a means to an end, becomes a life changer and that (2) sometimes the best narrative choices are those that have given way to compilations. The Forget-Me-Not Library plays a big role in Tallulah’s transformative journey and when her path crosses with Juliet’s, there’s an understanding, trust, and acceptance in allowing each other to work towards health and healing by rewriting pages in each person’s story.

Katy June is a sweetheart and Webber writes great magical realism! You’ll be glad you stopped in Forget-Me-Not, Alabama.

The Forget-Me-Not Library is a sweet story of found family, connections, and more, with a strong dose of magical realism. There are two female main characters, Juliet and Tallulah, and an assortment of wonderful people who live in Forget-Me-Not, Alabama. Juliet is on a solo road trip after mostly recovering from the effects of a lightning strike, which killed her beloved grandfather. She’s still struggling with memory issues. When he car breaks down outside the town of Forget-Me-Not, she winds up staying there for quite a while and finding love. Tallulah is a young, divorced mom, who has returned to the town, where her grandfather still lives. She works at the library and longs for stability after having spent most of her young life traveling with her travel-writer parents. There’s also a cute puppy and a library cat who seems to have some special powers - she knocks books off the shelf that will provoke a memory for the person picking them up. Plus Tallulah’s two little girls are adorable, especially 7-year-old Katy.

In addition to the found family theme, there are two (hmmm, maybe three?) clean love stories that get wrapped up nicely.

Each chapter starts with a saying from one of the townspeople, and those were a lot of fun. Here’s one: “Always remember that friends are the family chosen by your heart.”

The audiobook has two narrators for the two main characters, Hallie Ricardo and Stephanie Willis, and they both did a great job. It was easy to realize which character was speaking.

The Forget-Me-Not-Library is a book for your soul. This novel was enchanting and moving. Told from two different points of view, the reader comes to know Juliet and Tallulah. Both of whom are dealing with personal pain.

Juliet has recently lost a loved one as well as her memory. She takes a road trip but breaks down in Forget me Not, Alabama. While there she discovers that the town is more than what meets the eye. There is something there that wants to help her heal. Tallulah is recently divorced and living with her father while she raises two little girls. She is learning how to deal with her new situation as well as wanting more out of life including love. Their individual journeys reveal universal truths about loss, healing, and the courage it takes to embrace change.

The writing is simply beautiful – evocative, heartfelt, and infused with a warmth that makes you want to linger in its pages. The pacing is perfect, allowing you to savor each moment of discovery and emotional growth. I can't tell you how much I want to visit The Forget Me Not Library. I want to see Deckle, sniff a book, and get a new memory. I want to stay in the attic room and read a book under Bill's branches. This book is a gentle hug for the soul. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read more by this author!

Juliet is on a roadtrip when she sees a detour and follows it into Forget-Me-Not, Alabama. Her car suddenly stops in front of a house and spews blue smoke. It’s the home of Tallulah her two young daughters and her grandfather. The town is special, and it draws troubled people to it, and to the people who can help. Juliet was involved in a terrible lightning accident that killed her grandfather and changed Juliet’s life. Tallulah is recently divorced, and has returned to her hometown to start over. Although wary at first, the two women become friends.

While Juliet is waiting for her car repair, she gets to know the town and its people, who lovingly accept and support her. Tallulah works at the town library, where a woman from her past and a special cat work to help her find her way forward.

Is there romance? Yes. But the core of the book is about friendship and working through tough emotions to find your own path forward… not the path your family wished for you or that your younger self wished for, but what will help bring future happiness.

It’s a sweet, well-written book with characters that are relatable to. A book about finding happiness 💖.

If you are looking for an entirely wholesome light-magical realism heartwarming small town, look no further than Forget-me-not, Alabama. This is one of the most wholesome books I have ever read. Even the inner dialogue is quaint and truly big hearted. There are two POV- assistant librarian and single mom Tallulah, who lives in Forget-me-not with her grandfather. She was divorced 18 months ago. The other POV is Juliet Nightingale. She is a school nurse on a road trip after losing her memories in a lightning accident. Juliet’s car breaks down and starts smoking blue smoke. Their lives are entwined as they get ready for the climax at the town “Flour festival” which highlights baked goods.

Many thanks to Macmillan as a part of the early listeners program. The audiobook narration was fantastic- the Alabama accent was authentic and pleasant while engaging. The pacing is deliberate and intentional- for me I found the speed I was able to follow best was 2.0. It was easy to follow Tallulah vs Juliet’s chapters.

Katie was a great child, I loved her personality. There are no major villains in the story, the conflict comes from the characters accepting their destiny. Who doesn’t love a book about libraries and books? Another plus for me was an anecdotal story about a queer character.

It’s a good story and one you wouldn’t be embarrassed to listen in front of your kids.

A broken down car turned out to be a good thing for Juliet.

She made a wrong turn but it turned out to be the right turn for many reasons.

Juliet was on a trip alone to try to find herself and to heal when her wrong turn took her to the sweetest town with the sweetest people.

They somehow knew Juliet needed healing from some grief, and they could help, but they couldn't help until she told them what she needed.

We follow Juliet as she learns she made the right turn.

Forget Me Not, Alabama, is a town that I would love to live in.

A sweet, heartfelt read that is uplifting and has GREAT characters and a GREAT storyline.

Juliet Nightingale is lucky to be alive after being struck by lightening. Juliet decides to go on vacation by herself. Tallulah Bell is raising two kids by herself, after her husband left her. I wish this town was real, im sure a lot of people could be healed there. I could feel Juliet's emotions, and I felt for her. I really loved the characters, Tallulah, Juliet, Katy, Callum, and many more. This is a great read.

After a freak lighting strike near Juliet Nightingale, she’s lost some memories, her grandfather and her direction. She decides to take a road trip hoping to find some purpose when her car breaks down just outside of Forget-Me-Not, Alabama. She’s told it will be a couple days to find parts and she’s invited to live with a local family. As the days go by, she visits the library and other town staples and begins to feel welcomed, comfortable and like she’s found home.
Tallulah Byrd Mayfield and her two daughters have moved in with her grandfather when her husband declared their marriage over. She’s working at the Forget-Me-Not library where she refuses all the books the cat throws in her way. She’s doesn’t want to remember. She just wants to gets through the day and back to her girls.
Juliet and Tallulah get to know each other and themselves and finding what’s important.

🎧 I alternated between an ebook and audiobook. The narration is performed by Hallie Ricardo and Stephanie Willis. Both performed with exceptional and subtle emotions that kept the story low-key and a bit mystical. The voices are similar but distinct although the higher the speed, the more difficult to tell them apart. Chapters are labeled between Juliet and Tallulah but it’s easy to miss as chapters change.

Sweet, emotional, heartfelt and lovely.

Author Heather Webber pens a whimsical, heartwarming tale you don’t want to miss. A story centered in heart. It definitely tugs at your emotions. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Juliet and Tallulah are wonderful, flawed characters. They meet in the small, charming town of Forget-Me-Not, Alabama, which glows with Southern charm and appeal. Watch out for that colored smoke! 🥰

The library is magical with the resident cat, Deckle who can lead you to just the right book for you! The supporting characters are vividly portrayed and enjoyable. What a great town to live in! I highly recommend this novel.

As a long time Heather Webber fan, it hurts my heart to say it but I did not love, love this one. I usually adore her books. I didn't hate it but unfortunately it fell a little flatter for me than her books tend to. I love magical realism and usually hers have just the perfect amount. This one however, had too much going on. It was like we were getting bopped over the head with it on too many sides and it ended up feeling silly to me. Also I just thought it was terribly slow. Neither of the storylines was super compelling to me and I just wasn't very invested. There were a couple of parts there at the end that had my eyes welling up with tears and I do love a happy ending, which we are always guaranteed with her books. There were just a few things about this one that weren't my fave. It was heartwarming and tender but it definitely still falls at the bottom of the list for me when it comes to ranking her books. I wouldn't tell someone not to read it, but if you are going to pick only one Heather Webber book to read, it shouldn't be this one. I will never stop singing her praises though and just hope the next hits better for me.

What a feel good book, even though it dealt with grief and loss. The Forget-Me-Not Library has a magical feel to it but not over the top magic. If you like, cats, puppies, babies, elderly sweet men and women that are ready to give you a hug or a kind word of wisdom…then this book is for you. Throw in a little bit of a love story and an adorable little town and you are set. I really enjoyed this book.

A borderline saccharine (there isn't a mean or curmudgeon bone in the whole little town, and everyone goes googoo over the baby), but cozy-feel-good novel about found family. This novel would be best shelved in the romance section of the library, rather than where ever they put the magical realism novels - despite the magical realism elements of a library cat that gifts library patrons with memories via scented books, or the cars that break down and conveniently colour code the problem when strangers in need arrive in town of Forget-Me-Not. The novel is narrated by Juliet (a school nurse who lost her memories and her grandfather in a freak lightning accident and is taking a solo road trip to figure out who she is) and Tallulah (single, divorced mom of a bay and a 7 year old, living with her grandfather, working in the Forget-Me-Not Library), who form a friendship while figuring out in what direction they want to take their lives. An entertaining, gentle book.

The audio definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I started reading it on my Kindle while on vacation and got sidetracked after I got home. I’m so glad I returned to it! 

After a terrible incident where she is struck by lightning, and she suffers a great loss, Juliet Nightingale is looking for healing from the trauma she’s experienced. She heads out on a road trip. This book tugged at my heartstrings and I grew to love the characters. Who wouldn’t want to stop in this enchanting small town, especially at the library? I’d recommend this book!

Another fabulous book by this wonderful author!!!

Let me start by saying: coincidences??? So, the last book I read, The Mad Wife had Lulu MAYFAIR as a main character. This one has a Katie Junebird MAYFAIR and her Mom, Tallulah (LU) like…Lulu .... strange. 😮😮
Then we have Bitsy as another of the main characters in book # 1, AND, Bitsy appears in book #2 briefly as well!!! Very Strange Coincidences Indeed!!!

OK... on to the book!
Juliet is a RN who is taking a solo road trip to try to 'clear her head'. She recently had a terrible experience where she lost someone she loved, and blames herself. BUT, the crazy thing is that she has amnesia now. She lost all her previous memories... and is hoping that this trip might help her to recover some of them!
As she is driving, her truck breaks down and emits a cloud of smoke from the engine. As she walks to town and tells people there of her tale, they are not surprised!! As a matter of fact, they kind of PREDICT what happened!! Wait, what???? 😳😳
They are very kind and accommodating, and tell her to just settle in... she might be here for a while. She's not sure she understands. Can't they just fix it and she'll be on her way??
Turns out they are correct. They don't expect the parts to come in for a while...

So, one of the residents opens up his home to her... and, crazily enough, she fits right in!! As a matter of fact, she starts to make friends... AND, some of her memories appear to be coming back!

Then we have Tallulah (Lu) who has two young girls, and is recently divorced. She doesn't seem to trust anyone, especially not Juliet. But, her daughter Katie Junebird, tells Juliet to just give her time. She'll grow on her soon!! And sure enough, she is correct!

I'm going to stop right here, but let's just say that there are spirited cats and birds in this book, who seem to possess some very strange abilities... AND, this small town in Alabama is very comforting, accepting, loving and welcoming to all!! And may just possess some abilities to spark some flames of love too!!! 🩷

Add to that the old-timers who know so much history. The enchanted library with the forget-me-nots blooming all around. And the beautiful spirit of community that is felt throughout this one, as with so many others of her books as well!!

If you have not read this author before, please put her name on your TBR. She does wonders for my heart and my mind! @HeatherWebber

Heather Webber’s “The Forget-Me-Not Library” is a magical romance novel filled with books, love and a whole lot of Southern charm.

After a freak accident, Juliet Nightingale is alive but is nowhere near thriving. Suffering the loss of her childhood memories, Juliet decides to follow in her deceased grandfather’s footsteps and take a cross-country road trip, hoping to find answers. When she ends up stranded in Forget-Me-Not, Alabama, she meets librarian and single mom Tallulah and her large group of friends and neighbours. Although the small town was supposed to be a pitstop on her journey, Juliet discovers far more than she bargained for, finding love, her memories and herself in an unexpected place.

“Library” is narrated by both Juliet and Talullah, whose storylines coalesce as their lives start to come together, and readers get to meet and understand both women on a deeply emotional level. Both heartbroken, the two women with seemingly nothing in common become fast friends, and I was instantly in awe of their connection. Both women are strong, resilient and likable, and their friendship was inspiring, making it easy to want only good things for both.

Forget-me-not is a small town full of magic, where cars that run perfectly suddenly break down, drawing dreamers and wanderers to the Alabama town. The townspeople are hilarious and charming and the community was one where you just knew that everyone would be welcome and loved for who they are (total Stars Hollow vibes).

Both women start up new romances, which change their lives in any number of ways, and “Library” was heartfelt and romantic as much as it was sweet and engaging. I love to read books about books, and “Library” has a *shocker* library, at its centre so there wasn’t even a question that I would give this one a shot. Add on the adorable library cat who also creates her own level of magic, and I was hooked.

Heather Webber is a new author to me but she is known for her cozy romances featuring charming Southern towns with a food-or-book focused theme (like her novel, “Midnight at the Blackbird Café”). I am not a regular romance reader so it always takes a little something extra to pull me in and Webber’s “Library” had that special touch that I needed.

“Library” is delightful, emotional, heartwarming and entertaining, with a smooth, free-flowing plot and relatable, honest characters. Webber paints an idyllic picture of small town, Southern life that had me ready to pack my bags!

This is such a beautiful story. A story about two women who are at a crossroads in their lives. Juliet, who is now fully recovered from a lightning strike, feels as if she is missing something in her life. She decides to take a solo road trip to find herself. Tallulah is a newly divorced mother of two girls. She moved in with her grandfather and starts working at the local Library, The Forget-Me-Not Library. Juliet and Tallulah's lives unexpectedly cross paths when Juliet finds herself in the town of Forget-Me-Not Alabama. These two flawed characters find common bonds and friendship just when they need it most. I absolutely loved this beautiful town, and the library sounded so peaceful. Filled with healing, romance and found family. A heartfelt book that feels like a hug. I'm so happy I picked it up.
