This book is a prequel spin off book but can be read as a stand alone. An Enigma for the Lycan Crown Prince is about Flora and Elden, the parents to the main characters of the Silver lake wolves series, and how they originally became the Alpha and Luna of the Silverlake pack. While their back story has been hinted at slowly through the series, this is the first time many of the questions about them have been fully answered and a full time line about everything has been given. If you're caught up on the series these two characters are pretty well loved, always being great parents and a sweet couple who truly enjoy being with each other. This story only makes that even more true. New readers won't regret picking up this book if they decide to start their Silverlake Journey here. While relatively low on the spice scale, it is still on there. This is due to the ages of the characters through most of the book. It's my personal opinion that's a good move on the part of the author. Having them wait until they both reach 18 to be intimate makes sense both story wise and for the readers. As always, Isa balances action and emotion well. The story stays in your heart long after you have closed the pages of the book.
Knowing these two characters without actually knowing them, from previous Silverlake Books, this prequel makes so much sense to read after the other books in the series. I think if you read this first, it will change how you read and perceive the other books. Flora and Elden have such a presence and mystery about them that it lends to how the other books develop and evolve, you gain just a little insight as to who this Alpha and Luna are.
Flora is an enigma, without a doubt. She is quirky but fierce with an innocence to match Elden's Alpha aura. Learning their background and how the Silverlake Pack came to its current power, how the leadership was formed and the strength in the friendships forged was intriguing. The relationships that grow and are explored and those that disintegrate make for emotional reading and it is amazing how Isa Rinner can draw you in with her story telling. Flora and Elden will forever be my favourite characters and I have loved reading the story of their beginnings.
This book started by setting the scene for all the other books in the series. Ida (author) has a way to draw you in so that you feel like you are a part of the book. The way she painted the picture of how young Eldon and young Flora got to know each other and how they were raised in a way that drew you in, it was a page turner from page one and everything that happened in the book evolved in a most beautiful way. The way she gets the supporting cast to also have a place and not feel like they were just placed there was amazing. All the characters came out in a way that connects really well to the other books in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone or as the first one in the series and make your way up to the rest of the books. I recommend this book to anyone that wants to escape to the silverland multiverse once you start you won’t be able to put it down until you reach the end.
Isa Rinner is a truly gifted writer. Her ability to not only bring you into her world fully, but her talent at allowing you to live through her characters thoughts and emotions is a wonderful experience. I have been following her Silverlake Wolves series and she has, once again, delivered a wonderful experience.
The prequel follows Elden and Flora from childhood to young adulthood. Where Eldens childhood filled trauma, sadness, and unreasonable and unatainable expectations from a harsh parent - Floras childhood is full of love, kindness, and the desire to be the bestest friend that Elden ever had. Their friendship, love, and journey is not always easy, but they will always have each others back.
Another triumph for one of my favourite authors Isa Rinner. I did a read of all her Silverlake Wolves books recently, all in under three weeks and I was desperate for another installment. Whilst this is a prequel to the Silverlake series and we don't have our beloved characters at the forefront, Flora and Elden's story does not disappoint. We get to hear the story of the OG Crown Prince and Flora is most certainly an Enigma. A love that knows no bounds. Isa, you've done it again! I can't wait for the next one of Silverlake Wolves 📖🐺📚
The prequel to the Silverlake Pack series is a behind the scenes look at the lives of Flora and Elden and how they became the Alpha and Luna of Silverlake Pack.
There are trials and tribulations for each of them to go through, and fills in a lot of questions that you have when reading the other books in the series.
Isa Rinner has a way of drawing you into this world that she has created. She leaves you satisfied, but always ready for your next fix!
I never liked reading prequels after a series has already started, BUT I really loved and enjoyed reading about Flora and Elden. Following along and finding out how certain things started, like Elden meeting his betas, how and why his father got exiled, Flora's heritage, everything about her and Elden's powers, and more. I love Isa Rinner's Silverlake series, I can't wait for more. One of the best werewolves series ever!
What an amazing story, this never fell into obvious cliffhanger tropes which I really appreciate. No one was suddenly weak in order to be saved in a plot twist, instead, the characters were always true to who they were written to be. I can’t recommend this book enough. I’m late to the party on this series which works out well since I’m starting with the prequel and I’m so excited to read the series and get to see all these beautiful people again and again.
This was a fantastic read. I have read all of the Silverlake books so far and love them. It was incredible to read about Flora and Elden. Their journey as children, the trauma, the growth between them, and ultimately, their love story was amazing. There is also mystery, intrigue, and some scary situations in the story. Highly recommend this book.
I’ve loved Elden and Flora since book 1 and with each book I wanted to know more about them so I was over the moon when it was this book was announced. It’s everything I wanted it to be and more, the mystery that surrounded Flora throughout all other books and the reasonings for Eldens decisions will be answered in the beautifully written prequel. Simply stunning. Highly recommended
This was a backstory that I wanted and didn't know that I needed it. So much was laid out and everything made soooooo much sense. So many questions were answered. The story filled in gaps and was unique all on its own. I loved it. My favorite is still your first book as it is dear to my heart. But I enjoyed this one. Great job.
I feel like this is the story I have been waiting for. I can't wait to start a reread of the series and see how much different it will be after reading this book. The Calvin parts were so hard to get through. It makes more sense now how he was able to worm his way in to being beta.
Isa does it again! Not only is this book tying knots with the series, but we gain such a better understanding of Papa and Mama Bear, aka Elden and Flora. This is a couple that faced incredibly hard things very early in life, yet they used that as a map to better themselves and those around them. This is a must read in the Silverlake Wolves series.
I can't tell you how much I love this series! And this prequel was EVERYTHING! Flora and Elden are couple goals. It's amazing to see them go through their own growth as young teenagers in love to dealing with betrayal and loss, but still remaining strong for one another. Strong FMC and an Alpha with all the green flags. The couple that literally started it all 🥰
This is a prequel of the silverlake series. It gives us the background story of Flora and Elden, explains so much about these two. Strong FML great guy MML. Great book, like the rest of the series. The author doesn’t disappoint with the world building, character development, excellent supporting characters. Cannot wait to read more books from this series.
I came across this series via Facebook feed, and fell in love with the characters and storyline. Unfortunately I never realised there was a prequel. Although it hasn't caused a problem reading out of order, I wish I had read this first. Brilliant series, really well written, but you need to stock up on tissues, this one has some sad chapters.
Isi does it again- a interesting look at the developing relationship between elden and flora from youth to adults with some new characters and old. These two are destined for each other and take everything in stride together. I recommend this book and the whole series
I'm a huge fan of the Alcott's and this book is just the cherry on top of the cake. Little Flora is the cutest ever, fierce and loving ❤️ I want Isa to keep writing books about this bunch of people for years to come lol
This book was better than I had anticipated. Flora and Elden were always a favorite in the series and I’m glad to leave more about their beginnings. I hope there will be more books concerning them too!
So nice to see the beginning of the Silverlake Wolves series. These are excellent books with great characters and storylines. Absolutely love these books and would highly recommend them.
Fantastic legends are born! I am in love with this family. I am sad that the series is over. I read the entire series in less than two weeks, late nights. Every book and every character is amazing.
Fabulous addition to the series. Fleshes out characters that we’ve previously met and formed opinions of. Gives us more insight and is a brilliant story in its own right.
This was such an amazing book and I love that Isa wrote a prequel to give is Elden and Flora's story. It makes me love them that much more and gives a lot of insight into the other books.
This a prequel and just like her other books it was great! It was nice to see how everything started. In the story there’s a mystery to be solved and action along with a love story.
Yet again an amazing book I'm so often disappointed by prequels, but Isa has done an amazing job, I absolutely loved Flora & Elden's story, I can't wait for more in the series
What a beautiful story with a wonderful cast of characters! This is the first o e I’ve read in the Silver Lake series and I’m looking forward to the rest. Such a sweet HEA!
