The defense lawyers and police in the Flannigan family joyously gather to celebrate the holidays. Cold weather brings romance and robbery. Drew Sullivan finally decides to propose to Darcy Flannigan, but will he lose his courage, lose the ring, or both? Father Mike Hogan requests help from Patrick Flannigan and the police to protect St. Brendan’s from a string of increasingly violent robberies targeting churches. After a brutal attack leaves a detective hospitalized in critical condition, the police ignore Father Mike’s protests and exact vengeance by arresting a homeless man seen lurking in the neighborhood. The arrest of a potentially innocent man pits Flannigan police against Flannigan lawyers . . . again. With the holiday rapidly approaching and chaos looming, can the Flannigan family put aside their differences to deliver justice and find romance (and Darcy’s ring) in time for Christmas?
The fourth book in the series - and it was a great addition to the story! I love seeing the characters grow and become a family over dinners and drinks at Dylan’s. This one set around Christmas time was truly wrapped up in a bow with a heartwarming ending!
