Hello! Thank you for stopping by. The short story is I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I was 16, my family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and that is where I met my wife, Bev. We've been married for 43 years and share our home in Southwest Missouri with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 8 chickens, a herd of goats. We have 3 sons and 12 grandchildren that keep us hopping. I've been known to ride my motorcycle in nice weather, play golf in nice weather, and tend my garden in nice weather. In bad weather, I prefer to stay inside. :) Thanks to the support of you, our readers, I've been able to devote full time to my writing. Bev does our cover designs. We hope you our books are enjoyable and you'll let us know. Please feel free to contact us at: jdalglish7@gmail.com or on Facebook God Bless, John & Bev
Jason and Vanessa are chasing someone who is targeting seniors at a retirement complex.
I've enjoyed this series for a few reasons. 1. Great language and no rated "R" scenes. 2. The characters are interesting and well-developed. Not only does Jason Strong solve crimes, he's a family man. 3. The plot is interesting, keeping me reading. I find myself looking forward to the next time I could read, and in-between, thinking about the story.
I have read the first four books in this series of police procedurals. The fifth installment of the series, Tied to Murder adds to the series so far. Detective Jason Strong and his partner Vanessa Layne of the San Antonio Police Department investigating a series of murders that take place in a retirement community, each of the victims are tied like cattle in a rodeo. Along with their colleagues in the department's, Lieutenant Patton in homicide, Dr. Davis in the medical examiner's office, along with newly added Detective Nina Jefferson. These books read like a law and order style police procedural, but are full of character development and character driven. There are also Christian, wholesome reads. so if you prefer books that are void of profanity, sex, or graphic violence, ( there is some because it is a murder mystery), this book and the others in the series would be a good read to try out.
Book 5 is just as interesting and engaging as the previous 4. Someone is targeting the elderly residents in a retirement complex. Detectives Strong and Layne are once again involved In a race to stop a cold blooded killer. Fast paced edge of your seat drama as they work to prevent any further murders. The motive for the murders was easy to figure out pretty early on, but not who the responsible person actually was. Entertaining and enjoyable, the author has written another excellent police procedural. 🎉🎉👏👏🌟🌟🙏🙏📚❤
Jason Strong Series I have finished the entire series and have nothing but praise for every one of them! It’s wonderful to have an author who doesn’t rely on bad language for “realism” yet peaks interest in both plot and characters. Excellent series; endearing characters; great reads.
This is the fifth book in this series I've read. They're short but great reads. The two main characters follow each book, but have a different storylines. There are no profanities or sex scenes. There are a few grammatical errors but not enough to distract from the story.
I like these books because they are like reading the Hardy Boys when I was a kid. There are bad people that need to be caught but a story line about good people making their way in life. Good stuff when there's so much that isn't.
I am reading the series again at my wife’ s suggestion and am enjoying the stories and their lack of dirt all over again. Great mysteries that are well written by an intelligent writer who can “ use” the English language to tell a story.
Another excellent book of his. I know the characters so well. Hate for the end to come. He is clean and kind in his writing. Thanks, I’m on to another good one of his.
I like to read a book that is not going to be full of dirty words that takes me away from the story. This was a very good story, read all the book at one setting
I received this book as a free Goodreads giveaway. It was a breezy whodunit and interesting as it took place in a senior retirement complex. The plot kept me interested and I enjoyed the dialogue between the two detectives.
Perhaps a little for description would help. The setting is in San Antonio, but I missed that reference until deeper into the book. I kept looking at the cover photo and wondered why there was a cowboy on a horse. More sense of place in the story may be something to add. Just my opinion.
I have been enjoying the Detective Strong series. Although I was able to figure out the motive early in the book, "Tied to Murder" wasn't a disappointment because John Dalglish managed to add some twists and turns to keep the reader guessing at who was committing the crimes. As always, he created a unique MO for the killer. Some readers may not like the parts describing the detective's personal life, but I think it adds to the character development and allows the reader to get a feel for the deeper aspects of what makes the man "tick".
Once again another great book. These books are so good that before you realize it you will find yourself finishing it as they are basically a quick entertaining read. Again these books are excellent and I have recommended them to several close friends and relatives. Excellent work
Needed something easy and breezy to read after the last book and this fit the bill to a tee. I received this as a giveaway right after signing on to goodreads. To quote Abraham Lincoln "The things I want to know are in books; my best friend is the man who'll get me a book I ain't read."
Tied to Murder was a face paced and good read. I really love the characters. It is clean suspense. Even though I figured out the villains and the motive early in the story, I enjoyed reading it.
I have just finished reading book five of the Detective Strong books. This one was as good as all the rest. The only thing I do not like about these books is that there to short. They are well written .
The thing that bothered me most about TIED TO MURDER is the dialogue. It ranged from forced to fake. That took away from the enjoyment with this installment of the Jason Strong series.
Great series. Great characters. I'm glad I found this series. I have enjoyed reading them all so far. I think you'll Enjoy them as well. Definitely recommend this series. Enjoy!
