In the futuristic world of 2049, tensions rise between CEO Arturo Jose Rodriguez and CTO Roberto Pentzi over the direction of the robotics industry. When Roberto reveals his plan to integrate empathy and sympathy into their robots, Arturo becomes enraged, viewing it as a potential threat to their company's dominance. In a fit of fury, he flies to London where The Hunt Game is held in Punk City District. His to recruit Gemma Pazat-Jones as a rogue robot hunter and thwart any potential AI revolution.
I like the premise of the book, but it didn't deliver. It was riddled with grammatical errors and redundancies among other issues that an editor would have spotted. Some of the issues included numerous times where basically the same sentence was repeated a few sentences later, using asterisks to indicate when someone was thinking to themselves, spaces before commas and ending asterisks, not capitalizing the first word at the beginning of a sentence, missing words in a sentence, and many others that I will have to review my notes to refresh my memory.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. DNF. Even if this book was NOT made by AI, it is not good. Not only is the story everywhere (is there even a story?), but it’s just awful writing. It’s listed as a “science fiction” book, but it got seriously pornographic at the halfway point, so I just stopped reading it. I genuinely wish I could unread this book. What a waste of time & energy.
Just to be clear I'm rating this one star because I don't have a zero star rating, if I did it would absolutely be zero stars because this is absolute AI slop. I can't believe other people are not clocking this trash in the reviews.
Like what, am I supposed to believe that Seth Hilami here wrote this book (published Dec 9th) and then wrote a couple hundred more pages by December 20th for the sequel? Be serious.
The back cover to these books is the most obvious ChatGPT nonsense I've ever seen in my life and even skimming over these books it was IMMEDITATLY obvious no human touched this or felt any creativity or emotions in their heart while compiling it. Even the awkward way the it's formatted and having numbers randomly separating each section it's like. Oh. Because those are probably the separate prompts, the part where the """"author"""" said "write 500 more words where this happens" and copy pasted.
I guess I'm thankful I got sent four of these books but also I feel terrible that not only were these generated, but then printed, sent to my home, and paper was wasted on something nobody ever cared about. The fact it's about an AI revolution is so ironic because AI currently isn't even able to fool me into thinking it's a bad writer.
Anyway, I will enjoy using these as educational materials and as stuff I can rip up or use for blackout poetry so at least I can make something worth reading outta these. Even writing this review probably took more effort. Sheesh.
The description makes it sound very interesting! But the story did not follow the description and veered off in a strange direction away from the story line. Didn't make any sense. Poor writing.
One of the worst books I’ve read this year. I was halfway through when the author started to lose me. The premise is decent but the execution is lackluster. It would have been a much more effective novel as a smut short story. It only needed less than a hundred pages to have any real substance. And even then, it would be a terrible book. The author repeats a lot of the same tropes: “his throat suddenly dries as he swallows hard”, battling romantic feelings. Especially Arturo’s throat suddenly going dry multiple times in as many pages as it’s been written on. It arises suspicion that the novel was written with AI. None of speech or writing patterns seem human. Very few books force me to give up before completion. And this was the first one in a while. A word of advice to the author, stick to smut/romance and stop trying to write sci-fi. It would have made a better smut/romance tale over anything else.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway away. I was actually excited to read this book. I like steampunk but this book is written horribly. I agree with a majority of these reviews. This book seems AI generated. I had to DNF.
The steampunk setting was fun and interesting. Seemed like it was going well but then shifted and felt very uncomfortable and came to an abrupt ending. Thanks for the free giveaway copy
I enjoyed the premise of the book and the thought that went into the world building of this dystopian society. The writers style was very descriptive, yet easy to read, which immersed the reader. I loved the twists and turns and finished this book in a few sittings.
Some edits definitely could be made with formatting, grammar, and some typos. I also felt that there were some plot holes to where the book started off one way and ended in a completely opposite direction. My last critique is how the characters are written, a lot of the time thoughts contradicted actions, and the whole love triangle aspect took away from the robot hunting/dystopian arc and spun it in more of a romance novel direction.
Some of the best parts of the book had to do with the twists and turns, but I felt like the conversations of the Sisters about Gemma followed by conversations about Arturo seemed contradictory in the delivery. The introduction of a sexual chemistry felt a bit forced at times, but I do believe it helped create a bit of intrigue in the book. The biggest issue I had with it was how break neck it made Gemma’s character seem going from one set of self value to having such uncontrollable values the next when it played her off as never having those tendencies ever before. I guess even with the futuristic sci-fi setting, I hoped for a bit more realism to that connection.

Received in Goodreads give away. The following review is my own authentic opinion.
It took me some time to fully figure out what I wanted to say about this book. To be fully transparent, I didn't even remember entering the giveaway. There was shock when it arrived at my door. While I have zero proof, the cover alone comes across as AI generated. Researching the author brings nothing up as well. However, it could just be a pen name, but it seems a little fishy.
Opening the book, the first thing I took notice on was the formatting. It was not formatted the way physical books normally are. Having read so much fan-fiction in the past, I didn't expect to be so jarred by it in a physical book. It goes to show that what works virtually does not always translate to physical.
Aside from formatting, the book itself is repetitive, filled with grammatical issues, and failed to have a cohesive story-line. Again, something about this book felt fishy. While I don't like making accusations, this book left a taste in my mouth. One that makes me lean into wondering if this is AI. I have zero proof, so I won't say without a doubt that it is, but if it is ... then I'm upset.
