A reckless rookie. A PR intern with everything to lose. One team, one secret, and one fake romance that feels way too real.

Hockey has always come easy to me. I know how to charm the media, light up the ice, keep the world guessing. But none of that matters when Alycia Torres, the one girl I can’t forget, looks right through me like I’m a stranger.

She doesn’t remember that night in college, when everything between us burned fast and bright. But when we get stuck in an elevator and she offers me fifty bucks to fake being her boyfriend at a family dinner, I take the deal with a wink and a kiss on the cheek.

She figures I’ll vanish after dessert, just another harmless flirt she’ll never have to think about again… until I walk into her office the next morning as the Timberwolves’ newest rookie and her PR department’s biggest complication.

Now we’re pretending to be a couple for her mom, dodging rumors in the media, and trying to keep our hands to ourselves while working side by side. And the more time we spend together, the more the lines start to blur.

But secrets don’t stay secret forever. If mine comes out, it won’t just wreck my shot with Alycia, it’ll shatter them.

I didn’t come to Portland for hockey, or even for my brothers. I came for her.
And I’m not sure I’ll survive it if I lose her all over again.

Kyle and Alycia’s journey is one of vulnerability, growth, and undeniable chemistry. Their dynamic felt authentic and emotionally resonant, with just the right amount of tension and payoff. 😉

The pacing was tight, the dialogue sharp, and the emotional beats landed with impact. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Timberwolves series or diving in fresh, Line Change is a compelling read that wraps up the series with heart, humor, and hope. 🏒💚

There was a lot I liked about this one.
I liked the family dynamic, I loved that Kyle was doing the work with a therapist, I loved the banter with the brothers and I loved the tropes.
It wasn’t a bad read by any stretch but there were some things I struggled with.
I didn’t understand the fake dating angle, at all, it was a PR stunt, but it couldn’t be seen to be real?
I could absolutely understand the FMC’s reluctance but 80% of the drama could’ve been avoided with an honest conversation.
I also struggled with how repetitious it was, there were whole sections that basically just covered the same ground without advancing the story.
So all in all, not a bad read, just not one I would read again.

I absolutely LOVED LINE CHANGE!

This was one helluva slow burn that didn’t feel like a slow burn!!!

LINE CHANGE was the perfect ending to this sublimely written Hendrix family Ice Hockey series where we met the gorgeous but damaged brothers living as a devastatingly fractured family due to a tragedy in their earlier years. Over the course of the books from A SCORING CHANCE through to LINE CHANGE, it’s been an amazing series where each met their soul mate, adversity grew into love and romance, which brought about healing and a closeness between them, not felt for such a long time.

From beginning to end, each of the books have contained the best descriptions of game hockey scenes that I've ever read. I don't know anything about Ice Hockey but still, I could almost see the chaotic scenes play out in my head as if watching a video, and not only that, Ms Alexander has peppered many technical aspects of the sport throughout each of the books and that has made them the most Hockey centric romances that I'm pretty sure I've ever read.

In LINE CHANGE, I loved the writing gift of Ms Alexander’s writing in describing the physical effect that upon first sight, the seeing and hearing of Alycia had on Kyle’s psyche as the external and over stimulating noise of the party ebbed and quietened, sharpening his focus, all before she was even aware of him. To her it was a passing moment, but in him it made an impact;

“I didn’t know it then, but I’d spend a long time chasing the memory of her because she was the first person who ever made the noise go quiet.”

I loved their second meeting, where the chemistry was instant and intense. It was a beautiful, flirty, quirky series of events where the attraction was instant before each found out how the other was linked to the Portland Timberwolves organisation, adding the ‘forbidden romance’ trope to the existing ‘He-Falls-First” trope, before moving on into a PR ‘Fake Dating’ situation, and this bit you’ll have to read for yourselves!

Ms Alexander’s characters are flawed in a way that most of us can identify with;

“I’m just asking for clarification,” I say, forcing a grin, because that’s what I do when things hurt. I make it a joke.”

Now that is something I can identify with. Laugh at yourself and remove the power of the others who would otherwise laugh at you. And each time he hid his feelings, my heart broke even more for him especially when Alycia could see it happening also but carried so much fear within her that she couldn’t acknowledge the sheer amount of longing she felt for Kyle in return. She ensured he knew all about it being fake and dismissed Kyle's earnestness in the process knowing what it would cost her, but doing it anyway;

“The worst part is that he’ll believe me when I say it’s all fake, and that’s how I’ll lose him.”

I admired that Kyle, even as the youngest Hendrix brother owned and took care of his own mental wellbeing in a very proactive way, and his scenes with his therapist were both heart-breaking and enlightening. Personally I’ve never been to one, but I found them to be sympathetically written, and highlighted Kyle’s maturity in being positive about his mental health. The brothers never realised that in their humourous way of dealing with each other and with him, they were forcing him to stay in the role of the clownish kid brother who relied on his charm and never took things too seriously. The hurt and damage was succinctly written. Hell’s teeth, those pages even made ME look inward and take stock of the way our family banters with each other and my own reactions to what they think is funny.

I admired Alycia and Ms Alexander wrote of her fear poignantly. It was smothering and paralysing, and I absolutely 100% understood the basis of her actions where she not only ripped her own heart out of her chest, but was a witness to being the person who broke Kyle. Like actually broke him. So much so that even Cooper (who’s actions at times towards Kyle I’d taken a dislike to, and forgotten that I’d loved him so hard in his book!) stood with Kyle, at a loss of what to say and do!!!! As much as we want to say that women get a better social deal in society today than we ever have in the past, it was true that she would’ve been judged harshly by all, including our own sex, for getting together with an up-and-coming Ice Hockey Player, especially of the Hendrix heritage. Yes, in any scandal, Kyle would get off scot-free while she would’ve lost more than her reputation, no matter whatever noble intentions Kyle might have held.

What I did love the most was AJ Alexander’s letter to her readers at the front of the book. For me it read like a love letter to the gorgeous Hendrix Brothers who all went hard out at everything they did on the ice as well as in life, but also to us readers who love them as hard as she does. For myself, Ms Alexander has long been a must-read author of hot as hades novellas, but now I can attest that I am eternally rapt that she has since become an amazing writer of full-length books and has written this series, firmly ensconcing her among my most favourite of hockey romance authors. Absolutely Fabulously written and deserving of more than 5-slow-burn-long-game-Stars 🖤🩵🏒✦

🏒 Line Change (Portland Timberwolves, #4): A Rookie with a Reckless Heart!

AJ Alexander hits the ice with another absolute winner! Line Change is a masterclass in the fake-dating trope, blending the high-stakes world of professional hockey with the cozy, messy charm of a small town. If you’re a fan of "all the yearning" and a hero who is far more than his swagger, this Portland Timberwolves installment is going to be your new obsession.

⛸️ Fake Dating and Real PR Disasters
Alycia Torres is a PR intern with everything to lose. When she gets stuck in an elevator with a handsome stranger and offers him fifty bucks to play her boyfriend at a family dinner, she thinks it’s a one-and-done deal. Little does she know, that "stranger" is Caleb, the reckless rookie she once shared a "fast and bright" night with in college—a night she doesn't even remember.

The tension reaches a fever pitch when Caleb walks into her office the next morning as the Timberwolves' newest player. Now, they are forced to maintain the charade for her family while dodging media rumors and working side-by-side. Caleb didn't come to Portland just for hockey or his brothers; he came for her, and watching him pine while they pretend is pure emotional gold.

🌎 Diversity and Real-World Romance
One of the reasons I absolutely love AJ Alexander is her ability to craft romance that reflects the real world. Her stories aren't one-sided; they are a beautiful mix of races, cultures, and economic backgrounds. She shows the world that beauty truly comes in all shades and shapes, and the chemistry she writes is always electric and authentic. This isn't just a hockey book—it’s a celebration of found family and messy, beautiful growth.

✨ Why This Book Earns the GW (Goal Win):
All the Yearning: Caleb’s secret pining for Alycia is heart-wrenching in the best possible way.

The "Fake" Dynamic: Watching the lines blur between their public act and their private feelings is incredibly swoony.

Small Town Meets Pro Sports: It perfectly balances the tight-knit community feel with the glitz of the NHL.

The Secret: The looming reveal of Caleb’s true reasons for being in Portland adds a layer of suspense that keeps you turning pages.

My Final Verdict
Line Change is an emotional slow burn with a massive payoff. AJ Alexander continues to be a standout author for her inclusive, heartfelt, and steamy storytelling. Whether you’re here for the "brotherly chaos" or the "forced proximity," Caleb and Alycia will win your heart. It’s a five-star play all the way! 🏒🔥⛸️

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Portland Timberwolves #4

Alycia Torres is a PR intern with the Timberwolves and is good at what she does. But once again she has to prove herself especially after an incident at a previous job. She learned not to trust people or let anyone control her career.

Kyle Hendrick is the youngest of the four Hendrick brothers, a defenseman and rookie. He has come to the team where his oldest brother Cooper is the head coach, one brother plays and the other is also a coach. He knows he has a lot to prove.

Kyle and Alycia meet in the elevator while she's talking to her mom and her mom hears Kyle and he's invited to dinner. Alycia gives him $50 to fake being her boyfriend at this family dinner which he agrees to. Figuring this will be easy and a one time deal Alycia is surprised when the new rookie finally shows up for PR training that it's Kyle.

For Kyle he saw her six months prior at a campus party and was totally smitten. All he could think is he's found the person who was going to tear him apart in a way he didn't even know he could break.
So when it came to an incident that had rumors going in the media about them they decided to fake date. They would show up at a gala together and act like a couple but they weren't. She was very careful after what had happened to her before.

The more time spent together the closer they became they really seemed to understand each other. But for Alycia her job was everything and she wasn't going to cross a line but Kyle was starting to self destruct.

4.5 stars
This is a really good read, a little too long but good. This book is so full of emotion, angst it will make you cry, it's just raw at times. To watch what Kyle goes through is really hard but you also understand why Alycia is the way she is.
I loved his journal entries. And Ms. Mel's bonus is a must read too.
"Are you still okay?" "Only because you're here."
"Together. Even if we're the only ones who know what that actually means." "Then together it is."

~Heat flares across my palm so fast it feels like my body recognizes her before my brain can catch up.~

OMG! The ANGST!

The tension between Kyle and Alycia had me suffocating to point of combustion, screaming!!! I kept thinking, can you two just get it out of your system so that I can breathe?? For my sanity?! I swear I could literally feel the electric charge between them.

Those first chapters were pure torture, but chapter 9 was both torturing and unraveling.. the tension was burning and killing me in the best way of course!

But that aside.. the angst in this book😭😭 Chapter 28 was my breaking point💔. I understand Alycia's perspective, i really do.. but if only she could've given Kyle a little more grace, tried other options😭 That really hurt😭.
Kyle is a lover boy, wearing his heart on his sleeve, and that didn't make the angst easy to process.

A workplace romance with a forbidden twist, stuck between choosing love and protecting the career she's worked hard for. Meanwhile he's torn between respecting her space while his heart breaking or crashing through her world and walls to declare his love for her!

That lead to lots of tears and heartbreak, but the ending was worth it.

🎀Fav Quotes:
✨️“And if you need space, ll give it. If you need time, I’ll wait. If you need me to be quiet, I’ll stay quiet. Whatever you decide… the only thing I want is for it to be something that doesn’t cost you pieces of yourself.”
✨️“Never mistake my patience for indifference, or the distance I’m giving you as apathy. It’s not. It’s all because I love you.”
✨️She tastes like nerves and something that ruins every plan I ever had for keeping this simple.
✨️“I like a challenge, and you strike me as someone who doesn’t make it easy.”

💜Tropes:
☆Hockey Romance
☆Small Town Romance
☆Golden Boy/Retriever
☆Fake Dating
☆Biker Romance
☆Workplace Romance
☆Slow-burn
☆Angst
☆He falls first

Kyle Hendrix does not disappoint

WOW!!!AJ Alexander certainly tested my emotions with LINE CHANGE, Portland Timberwolves #4. This beautifully written story is a slowburn, fake dating, angst filled, workplace romance which pulled on all my heartstrings. This journey to love has struggles, heartache, passion, miscommunication, family, understanding, and plenty of love.

The moment Kyle Hendrix saw Alycia Torres he knew in his heart she was "the one". Their journey was not going to be an easy one. Kyle is the youngest Hendrix brother and the Timberwolves' new rookie and Alycia works in the PR department. When they are caught on camera a PR nightmare ignites and they are forced into a PR fake relationship. For Kyle it was anything but fake, whereas Alycia agreed to the situation, mainly for fear of losing her job, her emotions in conatant conflict. The emotional of both throughout this book was incredible, vulnerabilities were laid bare, often to the detriment of their own "real" relationship. Their chemistry sizzled, watching them fight it was absolutely heartbreaking. I loved that Kyle was always honest about how he felt, that he saw who Alycia really was underneath her facade, but would his feelings be enough to keep them together?

I'd been waiting for Kyle's story since book #1, he was the brother who was rarely seen, so I knew that his story would be worth the wait, and AJ Alexander did not disappoint with her words. She broke me before slowly putting my shattered pieces back together. My emotions were scattereddd to the winds, but everyone of them was worth it, I laughed, sobbed, cheered, and sighed. If you love experiencing these emotions then I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Alycia Torres was the one who got away. One night after a college party was all it took for Kyle Hendrick to fall head over heels—pure stars-aligning magic. Unfortunately for Kyle, Alycia found him completely forgettable. She doesn’t remember their brief fling, or even him, so when she offers a bribe for pretending to be her new boyfriend just to get her family off her back, Kyle sees the perfect opportunity. He’ll make sure she’ll definitely remember him this time—especially when he walked into her office the next day as the Portland Timberwolves’ newest player.

This was my first read from this particular author and Line Change, the latest in a series of interconnected standalones centred around the Hendrick brothers, a family of ice-hockey legends with Kyle being the youngest. He already had enormous expectations to live up to, so the pressure on him to deliver was high. Somehow, he found himself tangled in a fake-dating arrangement with Alycia, who at this point in her life was concentrated on her career. She had no intention of getting involved with anyone—and definitely not someone she worked with—especially since, as an intern it would be her job on the line. Their story was an emotional rollercoaster, packed with angst as the tension steadily built between them. More than once, I wanted to scream at Alycia for the way she treated Kyle—it was as if she couldn’t help but hurt him. Meanwhile, Kyle was nothing but sweet, to the point and it felt like she’d kicked a puppy. Their journey to love was anything but easy, but that struggle only made the payoff more satisfying when they finally realised that they were stronger together than apart. A truly beautiful romance.

Line Change ( Portland Timberwolves Series Book 4 ( 🏒Hockey / sports romance 🏠 Small Town Romance 🔥Fake Dating 💜Second chances 🔥Forced Proximity 🤍found family and all the feels . Perfection absolute perfection, that’s exactly what this series is . Book 4 already , and I’m so freaking obsessed with The Portland Timberwolves Series / world A.J has so brilliantly created . Each couples story really does have a piece of my heart ❤️. But something about Kyle and Alycia’s journey really did resonate with me . The struggles they went through, both together and apart the progression of their relationship . The circumstances that tore them apart and then the way they were brought back together . Oh man was I reeling with so many different emotions. I absolutely adored both characters more than words can even express. A journey filled with angst and humor and witty banter, love passion, pain and misunderstanding as well as miscommunication, second chances, family and friendships, the times that just tugged on all my heartstrings so completely and had me sobbing like a baby , smiling, laughing, cheering and just literally on the edge of my seat devouring every single word . A.J. Alexander is the master of writing angsty love stories that feature real life issues and Line Change is no exception. Alycia and Kyle become a “couple” as a PR stunt after she pays him to be her fake boyfriend to her mom. Kyle is the youngest Hendrix brother joining the Timberwolves and feeling the pressure to prove himself to his big brothers and everyone around him. Alycia is in a similar position as the PR intern for the team. It’s a messy, complicated road but these two eventually find their way to a happy ever after.
I love when a MC strives to be better at accepting who they are through therapy. Kyle admitting that he deflects with humor and learning to be better than what others think of him is one of the most honest things I’ve read in a romance novel. It was a little disappointing that this whole story could have been solved sooner if they had both been honest with each other about their feelings, but then we wouldn’t have half the romance stories we have now.
All in all this was a nice send off to this series and I’m excited to see what’s next for this author.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well Written But Not My Style

Dear reader prepare yourself for 70 percent angst with a little bit of happiness sprinkled in and then 30 percent of the figuring out how to be there for themselves within the desire to be together and then figuring out how to be together.

As I read in another review I will state there were a lot of individual parts of this story that I liked.

I liked Kyle a lot. Very self aware and going to therapy and he works the steps of his therapy.

I like the brother camaraderie inside and outside of the arena.

I like the family dynamic of the Hendrix clan: his mom is a hoot and I love how she’s a great MIL as well as mom.

I liked Alycia also but I think she could have used a lot of the advice she was being given. She thought she needed to handle everything on her own and that’s annoying (but relatable to some I’m sure)

What I don’t like is that it took until about 80 percent into this book for them to work their issues out and be happy.

I will not be going back to read the rest of the books and I will likely not go forward with any of this authors other books.

Line Change is book four of the Portland Timberwolves Series.

I felt so much pain and sorrow for everything Kyle goes through in this story. We know from the start that he is in love with Alycia even if he hasn't admitted it to himself. But then things just go from good to bad. What could've been something sweet between them gets put into the limelight and things just keep going bad. Alycia has her own reasons for why she acts the way she does and keeps her walls up, but I just wish she could've told Kyle everything from the start. She could've gotten him to understand everything she was feeling and they could've worked better together. I did feel bad for what she had to go through. But I really felt for Kyle. He seemed like such a sweetheart and the locker room scene with Michele, broke not only Kyle, but myself as well. I was saddened with him and felt his torment.

It was such a well written story. I felt everything from both of the characters. Both of their pain and suffering. It made you empathetic to everything they were dealing with. What a way to end a series!

This book is divine . It really is bliss . A one night stand would be grand had you not dabbled with the PR .Who could ask for more in this decadent power of wills? I’m cheering as well as tearing for all this storyline has to offer ,its thrills are divine and so much to proffer….Alycia Torres thinks he’s an handy dalliance ,appearing at the right time and place ,but he was a.ready there and for her in any case…Slow burn yearn that sates and thrills our desire and of these two are like playing with fire bit who’s getting burnt by the flame .🔥 A.J.Alexander ,HOT DAMN….😮‍💨 He’s the Timberwolves newest rookie and him and their PR department gonna have them some nookie .Only don’t tell mum it’s not nice but it’s for her their so called sacrifice. Read this book I implore it’s no chore . It’s sublime heat and slow burn yearn and so much more than a fumble and a stumble and talking of which do they tumble and lose it all for love ? You’ll just have to read to find out for yourselves . After all ,it’s out now on most bookshelves .

Thankyou for allowing me to be an arc reader for this amazing book

I have been waiting for this book which seems like forever and Kyle was very much worth the wait

Aj you absolutely made me sob my heart out in this book. It gripped me so tight and didn't let me go from the middle of the book I felt every emotion both from the fmc and mmc.
This book broke me into pieces and put me back together towards the end of the book

It was beautifully written and great conclusion to the Portlamd Timberwolves series

Line Change is the 4th Book in the series its a slow burn romance with raw emotion weaved into the book with family dynamics and hockey
It was tender and heartbreaking all in the same breath

I loved the growth they both go through the book and the pure and raw vulnerability they show each other.

This is a must read book if you love hockey romance, slow burn and fake dating that becomes more.

When a misunderstanding forces Alycia into bringing Kyle along as her date she believes that she will never see him again let alone that he would be a player for the team where she is working in PR. She needs to show that she is qualified for her position and that doesn’t include getting personally involved with someone she is working with.

Hockey has been a driving force in Kyle’s life, and he now finds himself playing for the team that his family are also involved with. From his first meeting with Alycia, he knew that she was special so when he finds himself pretending to be her boyfriend he is all in and isn’t about to let her reservations or his challenges stand in their way.

Alycia and Kyle take us on an emotional rollercoaster as they struggle trying to balance the depth of their feelings for each other against all the obstacles that at times feel overwhelming until they realize that as long as they are together they can overcome anything.

Line Change is book 4 in the Portland Timberwolves Series by AJ Alexander.

Wow, this was both frustrating and heartbreaking!! Alycia and Kyle find themselves in a PR nightmare when they are thrown into a fake relationship because of candid cameras everywhere. To try and smooth over any impact to either one of them, they decided to give the public what they wanted. As time went on, feeling developed and the fake story was anything but.

In the end, lies never win and Alycia learned a long time ago never to trust someone that could destroy her career. Kyle couldn’t help but fall in love with the woman he met months prior and now being able to spend time with her, only fueled his heart. Alycia won’t let down the walls to her heart and Kyle doesn’t know how to get through.

You don’t want to miss this!

I think each Hendrix brother wrecks me more and more and with each book I have my new favorite brother. I absolutely love Kyle and Alycia.

The moment Kyle and Alycia first meet there is a spark for Kyle, so when they cross paths again it is a no brainer for him, especially when an opportunity presents itself for a fake relationship. I adore these two so much. They have so much growth throughout the course of the book and the vulnerability they both show. It is impossible not to fall for these characters and to root for them.

I love the banter between them. I love seeing them spend time together and fall for each other, but also fight their feelings. Kyle and Alycia are a slow burn that is completely worth the wait.

If you’re looking for a small town, fake relationship, sports romance check this one out.

This is the fourth book in this amazing series, and this is Kyle and Alycia’s story.
Kyle knows from the moment he sees Alycia that she is his one, and when they are in an elevator together and she is on the phone with her mom, she ends up offering him $50 to be her fake date at a family dinner. Kyle is the new rookie defenseman for the Timberwolves, and Alicia is their PR intern.
This is a well written slow burn, easy to read, emotional roller coaster, with found family, friendships, tension, angst, chaos, secrets, fake relationships, forced proximity, miscommunication, workplace romance, vulnerability, trust, second chances, humour, witty banter, combustible chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining small town hockey romance, which tugs at the heartstrings throughout.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

It’s bittersweet bidding farewell to the Portland Timberwolves, but Line Change closed out this incredible series beautifully.

If ever a series made you feel part of the family this is it.

Kyle & Alycia’s elevator meet cute will have you laughing out loud from the very beginning, but be warned that the emotions kick in and we go on one heck of a ride with this couple and their fake dating scheme that may not be so fake after all.

The turmoil that is the Hendrix brothers, and all Kyle goes through, and the walls Alycia erected for reasons of her own see them torn apart before they had the opportunity to really be. The angst was next level, but how they came back together and the struggles they overcame individually and together were absolutely beautiful.

AJ Alexander really pulled all the emotions out of me on this one but my heart was full by the end.

I am so happy for this book, I have been waiting for Kyle's story since book 1! We didn’t get too much of him in the other books, but just enough to want more. I knew that Kyle’s story would be worth reading, and this story did not disappoint. I wish they would have seen the “better together” faster but this wouldn’t have been such a good slow burn if that was the case. The banter between these two, the banter between the brothers, and all the angst and silent pain and patience was just written so beautifully. This author had my emotions all over the place. I was smitten, happy, so sad, mad, all of them. It was worth it though. This book was a great end to the Hendrix brother stories. If you love a good slow burn and all the emotions, I cannot recommend this book enough!

Line Change by A.J. Alexander is book 4 in the Portland Timberwolves series and it is the perfect conclusion to the series! This time we meet Kyle, who is joining the Timberwolves professional NHL hockey team, having all brothers involved in the team in some way. 🏒

Kyle and Alicia meet the perfect meet cute moment and instantly hit it off before finding out Alicia is an intern at the team and will be helping Kyle in PR. Their journey is so emotional, as they have to fight their chemistry while learning to be vulnerable with each other.

Their story is a perfect slow burn romance that offers chemistry, emotional roller coaster and great plot. Kyle is my favorite, he is not afraid to voice his feelings and putting himself out there!!! The story offered the right amount of angst, tension and spice while staying true to its style.

What a great way to finish the series! 😍

This is the 4th book in the series and so emotional.
Kyle is a rookie at the Portland Timberwolves and knows he has to be careful as his three older brothers are there. Alycia is a PR intern at the Timberwolves and the moment they meet sparks are flying but she keeps the walls around her heart very high.
When an incident with reporters puts them in the spotlight they have to fake a relationship but what happens when feelings change.
So full of emotion and plenty of drama but will Kyle be able to get Alycia to trust him and let him break down her walls.
A must read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

AJ has created a story with a fake relationship vibe that sizzles. The tension between Kyle and Alycia jump off the pages. As the fake relationship plays out between them, it gets harder to deny the real feelings that develop.

Kyle is such a sweetheart! This man fell for Alycia months prior and was determined to win her heart. Alycia has walls so high and trust doesn’t come easy to her, stemming from an incident from her previous job.

Loved the patience Kyle had and he was so persistent to break through those walls.

Rookie and PR Intern is always a classic. When a fake dating scenario that started just to please her mom, but blows up into so much more when the media gets ahold of it. But the problem is, Kyle never wanted it to be fake. Alycia is afraid that she will be painted as the bad person or someone sleeping her way up the chain.

I loved how Kyle was always coming to her defense. He cared about her and you could feel it. This was a slowwwww burn, but in the end it was worth it. It was fun, flirty, cute, and then a little bit of spice there at the end.

Kyle Hendrix, the youngest of the boys and Alycia Torres, the PR intern meet in an elevator, snap decision she asks to pay him to be her fake date for dinner with her mom.

Neither knows the consequences coming at them as they must work together. One fake dinner, becomes a PR fake relationship until it nearly breaks them both.

When fake becomes real, and then almost breaks completely, the couple must decide to choose each other. And they do.

It’s an emotional ride to a happy ending filled with all the Hendrix brothers and their women.

When fake dating turns into sooo much more. Alycia and Kyle had an instant connection…one felt it stronger than the other. These two had great banter and perfect chemistry. Most of all these two understood each other and he wanted to show her that she was someone he truly adored. This is a layered story about family dynamics, life’s challenges and everything in between. This series is extremely entertaining and does not disappoint.

Another perfect book from Portland Timberwolves and AJ Alexander. I'm so glad I got to read this ARC! I keep falling in love with the characters created by the author.

Fast-paced and emotionally engaging, this second-chance hockey "fake" romance between a reckless rookie and a PR intern delivers great chemistry, strong character development, and plenty of heart. Perfect for sports romance fans.

Thank you, AJ, Booksprout and Literary Yours, for this ARC! ♥

Make sure you have the tissues. Kyle is the youngest but no one truly knows what losing his father did to him at his young age. He has dealt with a lot of flack for his anger but he just needed a little understanding. Alycia just wants to do her job and not have the added pressure of finding someone. Funding the right person is a blessing but if you don’t know what to do with the new feelings it can feel like you are sinking. Love this series!

This is the last book in the Hendrix Brothers hockey series and finally gives readers the youngest brother Kyle's story. This is a fun and surprisingly emotional fake to real story that follows both main characters as they heal and learn to love. Sweet, fun banter, so much found family, a lot of spice, and plenty of love with a HEA for the couple make this a fantastic conclusiont o the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
