All is not well in the castle of Trielle. Between the problematic visiting royals and withheld secrets, Letty and Princess Maisy realize their safety is in jeopardy, and they start to devise a daring plan to save both the men in the dungeon and the kingdom. With mysterious alliances, the nosy new captain of the guard, ballroom dances, and a royal proposal, Letty’s courage, kindness, and strength will be tested in ways she has never experienced before.
This book was very interesting and I couldn't stop reading it. It had a very good way of making things flow and it was very easy to follow along and not lose my spot. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes excitement.
*SPOILERS* The book started out when Letty was looking in the dungeon to see if the cobbler was there. When she got there she found out that not only was the cobbler in the dungeon, so was her father. Letty was told that she couldn't tell anyone else and she hurt knowing that her father was in the dungeon and she couldn't tell her family. She had a feeling that she had to tell someone so she told Jocelyn that she needed to talk to her at night but then she realized that she should tell the princess too. When they both found out they were shocked and they felt so bad for Letty. Princess Maisy was so mad that her father was holding innocent people in the dungeon and she didn't know about it. Letty also found out that there was another person that went missing with his son. The cobbler in the dungeon told Letty that they were being held in a prison on the outskirts of Trielle. Letty told miles about all of it and told her mother some of it. Letty's brother, Miles, decided that he wanted to look for the father and son that went to jail somewhere and Letty insisted on going. Letty told princess Maisy and said that she wanted to go too. They were planning on leaving in a week but then a new captain of the guard was hired and he fired Luis (the guard that let Letty into the dungeon one time and told everyone). Princess Maisy found out that she was supposed to be the queen of Trielle 2 years ago but her uncle never told her. Princess Maisy and Letty went to confront him but then the caption of the guard showed up and refused to let them speak to him. The captain took the note and said that Letty will not be the Princesses lady-in-waiting any more. The Princess decided the Letty, Miles, and her would leave that night.
