USA Today bestselling author Ariana Hawkes writes spicy romantic stories with lovable characters, plenty of suspense, and a whole lot of laughs. She told her first story at the age of four, and has been writing ever since, for both work and pleasure. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two huskies.
Preston is the perfect grumpy, growly Bear shifter, and being told he has to make nice with Humans, and cater to their needs, is too hard to swallow. Her eternal sunny demeanor, is stretched to the limits on this " Team building " trip" the Lodge is old, things don't work, and she has to find a way to make people happy, while they continue to find problems. Preston latches on to Lucy, as soon as she comes face to face with her. His Mate has finally appeared, and it's A mad scramble to make things right for her. Wonderful problem solving, and between Them, they managed to get through the weekend. Lovely HEA ending!
Preston is a grizzly bear shifter who runs a retreat. He and his bear are grumpy because they haven’t found their mate yet. Lucy has been tasked with running a team building weekend at a mountain retreat. She hopes that it will be a chance to prove herself. When she gets to the retreat it’s in a rundown condition. She runs into Preston who knows that she is his mate. Lucy is the opposite of the grumpy bear/man. She is a sunshiny woman and he is just grumpy. There are laugh out moments in this book. Will Preston convince Lucy that they are mates? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
What a delightful short tale this was! I've always enjoyed the works of Ariana Hawkes, and this one is certainly no exception! Her writing is smooth, her stories evenly paced and her characters adorable and lovable. In this book, we meet Lucy and Preston. It's instant attraction for these two as Preston's inner beast finally discovers his true mate, and although Lucy doesn't quite know they why's, she's definitely feeling the pull. A great read that will have you chuckling along one minute and fuming for Lucy's sake the next! I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.
Quick review for a quick story. Short story which is sometimes great when you just have a little time to spare. However this one left a lot unsaid even in the short storyline it had. It also had errors, SPOILER**********like the story said someone’s mom had died when they were a baby but the final chapter they mention that mom was there doing something for them. ??!? And not enough background to even try to input a second mom/step mom etc scenario. It’s a “been done” trope but I would have still enjoyed it with some more background, story and consistency in information.
This story about Preston and Lucy was sweet, sexy, funny, sometimes infuriating with all the mess troubles heaped on Lucy by her so-called colleagues. Natasha ,original mean girl, and the fiend Errol ,who finally got his come-uppance. From Preston, I really like the way Lucy finally took charge and was no longer a doormat. . Great story, I can’t wait to read the next one!
I've always liked the story Where the Nasty people Have to apologize and that was in the story. I like the characters especially The 2 main The 2 main 2 main characters... The characters were interesting and relatable. Story The story the story was a The story the story was a short story didn't take long it all to read but it packed a wallop. I urge you to give this reconsideration I think you will enjoy it.
Grumpy Preston unexpectedly finds his mate Lucy when he thought he would never find his mate. Meek Lucy kind of stumbles into him at the lodge. His bear knows immediately and even Lucy is attracted to him. She is not even surprised or frightened when Preston shows her his bear. Lucy finds her power when she tells her employer and her bully what she thinks of them. This is a sweet romance with two people who come to terms with themselves and their power and a very happy ending.
This was a fun and cute romance for grumpy bear shifter, Preston, and outgoing human gal, Lucy. He may have been a man of few words, but she bursts into his life and opens him up to so much more. With LOL moments, action and steam, this was an engaging romance and a great addition to the series :D
I really love this book it was sweet and touching, and the book made my day. I love books about bear shifters. They are my favorite of all shifter romances, and Preston and Lucy were fantastic together. It is the perfect love story full of wonderful moments that will light up anyone who reads this book. A wonderful romance!
Our heroine has been the scapegoat of the office for a long time. But all that is about to change, once she meets her grumpy grizzly. Not happy with the run down hotel he's been given, he has a new leaf on the hotel, as well as life when the crew from the work retreat comes to town. Once his bear has found his mate, all bets are off. Fabulous shifter romance by Ariana Hawkes!
Grumpy alpha male of few words! Outgoing curvey gal! On a retreat that could be a total disaster with ten over the top self in titled a holes! The retreat is a bit run down and as they arrive let the games begin!
I really enjoyed reading this book📚 from this series! Each book📙 has it's own story. This short novella was just what I needed to read today. It's raining cold and dreary and this book was funny, romantic, and sexy. Just what a romance reader like me needed.
Ms Hawkes has done it again. I am never disappointed when reading her work This was such a beautifully written story. The love and protectiveness between these two was so heart warming. I look forward to the next book release.
Good book for a quick read to take you out of yourself. Only problem is it mentions his mum was killed when he was a cub and at the end she is looking after her grandkids?....
I really enjoyed watching Preston and Lucy finding their HEA. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I will definitely recommend this to everyone.
This was such a sweet and cute short story. I enjoyed both characters Lucy and Preston. The team building strip was the best thing that happened to them in their worlds before each other.
A very cute read with laugh out loud moments sprinkled throughout. Preston is such an intense grump until Lucy comes into his life. Great characters, great story!
Arc review For a honest review in my own words on a book I read. This is so cute the chemistry of these characters plus I like how Lucy makes the grumpy bear/ man come out of his shell.
I liked the chemistry between Preston and Lucy. Lucy sees this vs in a positive light, but she isn't stupid. Oregon is grumpy but wants to do his best - for his mstr, anyway.
