Mafia/cartel, arranged marriage, forbidden, possessive hero, sheltered heroine, he falls first, dangerous romance

Reinaldo Roríguez
Emiliano Ruiz
Both are dangerous, deadly, and powerful. Both are second-generation soldiers proving themselves in the Roríguez cartel.
Both want me.
Of course, I wasn’t told until it was too late. That’s the way things work in the famiglia. My fate is up to Dario Luciano, my guardian.
He doesn’t care the way the men make me feel. How when I’m near them, the air crackles and my skin warms with stinging electricity, stirring something deep inside me that never before existed.
One fills me with desire, twisting my insides.
The other recognizes my need to be loved, filling me with a comfortable warmth.
By the time I learn that both have requested my hand, a deal has been brokered.
Neither man from the Roríguez cartel will have me.
I’ve been promised to another, the son of Dario’s sworn enemy.
Will I have any say in my future?
What will happen to the alliance between the Luciano famiglia and the Roríguez cartel when tragedy strikes?

Jasmine has the attention of so many men. I'm surprised her head doesn't spin.

Only one can win her heart.

I am on team, Reinaldo!

Reinaldo Roríguez and Emiliano Ruiz both want her, but only one can have her, and after doing something very foolish, they literally seal their own fate and lose the chance.

As her guardian Dario has always allowed her her own mind and space but the time has come for her to marry, and it isn't who Jasmine needs or wants.

There is a war brewing, and danger is everywhere.

I love Aleatha's storytelling. They hook you in until the last word. Queens and Monsters did just that.

Jasmine was a sweet young woman who felt out of place in the world, but really, she did have a place just didn't realise it. I just LOVED Reinaldo. He showed UP for Jasmine. He was sweet, protective, hot, caring, and would do anything for her. Gah, I just loved him.

I definitely recommend 👌

Aleatha Romig unveils the fourth book in the Brutal Vows Series, Queens and Monsters. The story delves into the power struggle between two formidable cartel soldiers, Reinaldo Rodriquez and Emiliano Ruiz, both vying for the affection of Jasmine Renner. The plot thickens with the unexpected arrival of Zrdan Myshkin from the Bratva. As the tension mounts, the question arises: Can Capo dei Capi, Dario Luciano, decide the woman's fate or the family business? Does Jasmine have a say in her future? Will there be an alliance between the Mafia, Cartel, and Bravta? Does Elizondo Herrera win with his attempt to take over the cartel? Have you been Aleatha'd?

This was quite the wild ride and I loved every minute of it.

These books need to be read in order because there is an underlying plotline happening throughout each book. Each book does focus on a particular set of characters, but they all play into the underlying plotline, which just adds to the overall story.

Aleatha really knows how to write these mafia stories that keep readers engaged the whole time and flipping pages quickly. Her storytelling just pulls you in and leaves you wanting more.

Queens and Monsters truly showcases how well Aleatha intertwines the mafia/cartel worlds and how they "cater" to one another, when it fits their goals. There is so much going on but it's never confusing to the reader and it all blends so seamlessly.

The blurb gives you all need to know going into this. I won't spoil anything by attempting to give you any rundown of what happens in this book or any small parts because I loved seeing things unfold without any knowledge of anything but the blurb beforehand.

I am loving this series and cannot wait to see what she brings us in the next book.

Another great entry to the Mafia/cartel world I have come to love. Jasmine and Reinaldo are an unlikely pair but that is exactly why they work. Rei is just as brutal as all of the other men but Jasmine causes a softness in him that I didn't expect. Jasmine never felt worthy and stayed on the fringe of Dario's world. The territory war continues and new players enter the fray. Dario tries to broker peace using Jasmine as collateral, Rei makes his case to Dario for Jasmine instead.

As with any Aleatha story you are going to have all the feels. The drama, angst, sadness, sweet moments and great steam built in. I was riveted from the first page to the last (I stayed up past my bedtime because I had to see how it ended). You can read this as a stand alone but I recommend reading the other books in the series first to get to know the characters.

Another effortless, enjoyable read from Aleatha Romig! Queens and Monsters, Book #4 in the Brutal Vows Series, was really, really good. I'll admit, this Mafia/Cartel Universe has truly captured my imagination. I'm a huge fan of these Alpha/Predatory men that make up all these mafia/cartel groups. Each one different in their own way, but they all have a soft spot for the women in their life or the women they want in their life permanently.

Queens and Monsters is Rei and Jasmine's story, but there's other stuff happening too. That's yet another thing I like about this series. There's lots of action, steamy and otherwise! This one was a totally effortless read. The story flowed from start to finish, with the tension building from the beginning to a magnificent ending. As I neared the end, I could not turn the pages fast enough. All the twists and turns had me reminding myself to breathe and keep reading.

Rei and Jasmine were a captivating couple. With Rei's experience and Jasmine's lack thereof, they just fit together perfectly! I was totally swooning over Rei and his adoration of Jasmine! I'm so looking forward to Book #5! If you haven't started this series yet, you should! It's so entertaining and will keep you on the edge of your seat as you read. If you like romance with a side of the underworld life, this is the series for you!

I am enjoying this series!!
I already loved the arranged marriage trope.
I Mafia men are just HOTTEST bad boys.
BUT these are told Aleatha Romig style, you never know what to expect.
This one an arranged marriage gone bad? Or the Arranged marriage that didn't?
You have to read it to understand my vagueness because I'm not spoiling it.
I m so glad to see there is another coming.
I'm a greedy reader and ALWAYS want more.

Queens and Monsters by Aleatha Romig is book four in her Brutal Vows series. The saga of the alliance between the Luciano famiglia and Rodriguez cartel continues with another arranged marriage, that doesn't quite go as planned. This Mafia / Cartel dark romance is full of intrigue, suspense and steamy scenes, all played out while they fight to keep the alliance together. This is a fantastic series and I love reading about these dangerous men finding love.

This time we have Reinaldo Roriguez and Jasmine’s story which is a sweet and loving romance but fraught with danger. Can they find a way to be together when Dario is against them and tries to keep them apart. Will she get to marry the man she wants and loves? Can Rei prove he is the right man for his ‘Preciosa’?

The story starts as the Roriguez Cartel arrive to celebrate Christmas with the Luciano famiglia.
Dario informs everyone of the proposed truce with Myshkin, to help them take out Herrera as the attacks on them have escalated. Jasmine is home from college and Dario has looked after her for years, even though the rest of the Luciano Famiglia treat her as she doesn’t exist. Dario is over protective so she hasn’t had a regular life or any freedom. She also hasn’t any experience with men so when both Reinaldo and Emiliano Ruiz start flirting with her and calling her beautiful, she is flattered by the attention from these two intense men.

The pair suggest they escape the celebrations and encourage her to go out with them. An evening without being watched sounds like a great adventure. She is scared but fascinated especially with
Rei as he oozes danger and power. Rei is jealous of Em so he kisses her and it makes him realises she is meant for him. His father had suggested her to Rei to help with the alliance but Dario had not fully agreed to the union. The evening doesn’t turn out like they hoped and it ends up with them all in trouble and a furious Dario. Feeling very possessive, Rei risks his life to see her and promises to come back for her.

Jasmine can’t believe when Dario then informs her he has arranged her marriage and it’s not Rei. Upset by being promised to the wrong man she gets the other women to help her. This starts a series of events and things get worse when someone from her past returns and there is far more to it than anyone realises . Rei is determined to show everyone he is the best and safest choice for her. I loved how protective and caring he is and really looks after her as her life abruptly changes. She has been through so much and deserves the best so is he the right man for her?

There are some startling revelations that affect the alliance and retaliations that have devastating repercussions. The tension rises and the author makes you wonder who will survive this action packed instalment. The Rodriguez men are now targeted along with Dario and Dante, so this is a war they must win and it’s not over yet! Will Emiliano get his HEA while the alliance is pushed to its limits in
To Have And To Hold #5. The cartel has helped the famiglia with their problems so now it's time for them to return the favour and help them with their revenge.

Wow! What a story! When Jasmine was introduced in book one, I was already intrigued wondering what role she would play in this series. Queens and Monsters – this is her story and Rei's. Once you start reading you won't be able to put it down. A captivating and suspenseful storyline that you won't be able to resist. The love scenes between Jasmine and Rei are smoldering and complicated family dynamics will keep you entertained. Aleathe Romig has masterfully crafted a well-written series with beautifully described characters. This is the 4th book in the Brutal Vows series and if you're into dark mafia romance you won't be disappointed with this one. Well done!

In the fourth book of the Brutal Vows series, the mafia/cartel arrangement takes a slight deter. An arranged marriage between Jasmine goes way off the track.

Reinaldo Roriguez is desperate to fight for her hand in marriage and he puts up a valiant effort. Both Red and Jasmine are great together. She’s an innocent young woman and he definitely isn’t innocent but is respectful of Jasmine.

I enjoyed this story with its back-and-forth storyline, only back and forth because of interference from others. It was great getting to know these characters better, especially Reinaldo’s mother and Jasmine.

There is plenty of action and drama that seriously takes you right to the edge in anticipation of what is happening. Talk about chewing your nails down to the quick.

Now, I need the next book about Emiliano Ruiz. Bring it on.

Wow! I absolutely loved this anthology. Amazing characters and wonderful plots. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Jasmine has been in Dario’s life since she was seven years old. Despite him now being capo dei capi, and her sister, his girlfriend, is dead now for a few years. He still loves her and takes care of her, he’s her guardian.

The night before Christmas she encountered Reinaldo, the third in command to Roríguez cartel. He ignited a passion inside of her and looked at her like no other man ever did before. The same night, she saw Emiliano, soldier of the Roríguez cartel. Both men have her feeling things she never felt before.

Both want her hand in marriage, and already in negotiations with Dario. But it may be not matter anymore, Dario decided to marry her off to the son of his sworn enemy, to end yearly long feud between their families. Will Jasmine marry Zhdan, or will she marry Rei or Em? Read to find out.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a virgin heroine, slight age gap (5 years), possessive and protective hero, mafia/cartel romance then you’re going to love it.

Talk about being trapped in a triangle of desire, want, and duty

Jasmine is a bit sheltered. Actually, I'm amazed her guardian Dario who is also the Capo doesn't have her kept in a full body chastity belt!
I know it's because he cares... Try explaining that to a young woman who is looking to spread her wings

The time has come for the families to make a new alliance and it looks as though Jasmine is their offering to secure it
However, our sweet little heroine has also caught the attention of Reinaldo and Emiliano.
Both of whom seem to have no qualms in placing temptation before her
With these two steamy predators circling her she can only pretend disinterest for so long
You know what they say about curiosity and the cat

However, her world is turned upside down when what should have been innocent exploration becomes a betrayal
Her choices are taken from her but she is not ready to give up the fight yet
Will she become a spoil of war?
Or will he get to her in time -
I am sure you know who but I do not want to be the one to spoil it if you don't

Rei's desire and protectiveness of Jasmine "fanning myself" holy hades!
Lots of OMG moments, crimson scenes you expect from a cartel read, twists and revelations that are sure to catch you off guard

I usually call Aleatha the Queen of Cliffhangers, but for this series I’m changing it to Midas, because each book is pure gold. There is no one who could merge a mafia and a cartel like her.

Reinaldo is the second son of El Patron, of the Roriguez Cartel. He has his eyes set on Jasmine, the foster daughter of the Capo dei Capi of the Luciano Mafia, but she’s been promised to another.

I am so happy we finally get Jasmines story. She’s been through so much in her life, she definitely deserves to be happy and have good things happen.
Rei is so yummy. He exudes confidence and isn’t afraid to fight for what he wants. And the minute he saw Jasmine, it was her.

There is so much to this story, and since it’s on-going, you definitely have to read these books in order to understand what is going on. Trust me when I say, you won’t want to miss a word. As usual with Aleatha’s books, they are fast-paced, steamy and have twists that always leave my heart racing.

I can’t wait for the next one!

As we revisit the alliance between the Luciano famiglia and the Roríguez cartel, new enemies come to light. Meanwhile both Reinaldo Roríguez and Emiliano Ruiz both want to marry Jasmine Renner, but she is set to wed Zhdan Myshkin.

Jasmine has led a very sheltered life. She's the ward of Dario Luciano, the capo dei capi of the Luciano family. She's attracted to both Em and Rei.

"Em was wearing a dark t-shirt, leaving his bíceps and forearms exposed. It took every ounce of my self-control to not run my fingers over his defined muscles."

"Words failed me I was too busy fighting whatever spell he'd cast. My body and mind battled. My body wanted to inhale, to feel his hard body against mine and to experience what he described. My mind was busy telling me to run from his threat."

Em and Rei blow it when they sneak Jasmine out of the house for a night on the town and nearly cause a full blown war.

This book has it all. Gangland warfare, arranged marriage, suspense, intrigue and lots of steamy heat.

I have been Aleatha’d again and enjoyed every minute of it. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Finally Jasmine's story!! Or should I as Jaz-mean :)

Rei or Em or someone more sinister, who would win her hand? Who will her guardian decide to give her hand to in marriage? And who does Jasmine want to marry? Watching Catalina and Camila and even Mia support Jasmine was touching and was great for the evolution of the women in the culture of this family and great to see.

The war between the mafia/cartel and the bratva is still ongoing in the midst of marriage negotiations and danger lurks behind corners for everyone.

Loved this story and enjoyed watching Jasmine come into her own and seeing Jasmine and Dario finally confront the past was heartwarming. Jasmine and the relationship with her new husband and his family was great. She finally got the family she'd always wanted and deserved.

Can't wait for the next book in this series!

Okay so this was a sweet Mafia romance. You don’t get many of them.

The author intended for it to be a love triangle but it didn’t work out that way.

When both Reinaldo and Emiliano express their interest in Jasmine, it’s the more intense one that captures her attention. The Capo however has other plans. He throws a spanner in the works and negotiates a deal with the bratva.

Soon after some incidents that could have been avoided, Jasmine is married off to the one she’s most drawn too, Reinaldo. With their marriage the alliance between the famiglia and the cartel are stronger than before.

This story wasn’t what I expected but I wasn’t disappointed at all. I loved Jasmine and Reinaldo. I wish we could’ve seen a tad bit more of them but I guess we will have to wait for Emiliano’s book to see how these to fare.

Jasmine and Reinaldo got 4,5🦋

Dario Luciano also Capo is the guardian to ward Jasmine Renner whose been with the family quite a few years. Reinaldo Roríguez and Emiliano Ruiz both two different kinds of men fall for Jasmine. Dario's enemy Zrdan Myshkin with the Russian Bratva gets a deal that includes in marriage and Jasmine is the one thats to be the bride. Well, Zrdan went a bit too far with Jasmine and Reinaldo wasnt going to back down. I'd say there were some sweet moments in this one and it did get a tad bit slow for me towards the end. I do look forward to the next one!

Book 4 in the Brutal Vows series and it can certainly be read and enjoyed as a complete standalone. However, in this story I think reading the stories in order helps understand the family dynamics at play in this story.
Reinaldo Rodriguez and Emilia n Ruiz are both fighting for Jasmine’s attention. As always, trust this clever author to throw in and unexpected twist!
The plot thickens as we delve into the unexpected rivalry for Jasmine Renner?
Fast fast suspenseful and intense oh what a twisted web aleatha wove!
What happens and who wins Jadmines hand?
Can the exist an alliance between cartel, mafia and Bratva

Jasmine and Reinaldo(Rei)’s story was perfection.
The way they both knew from their first meeting that they would be together forever, that nothing could stop it from happening, including Dario.
Jasmine was promised to someone else but it didn’t stop Rei from pursuing her. I loved how protective he is with her and would literally kill for her.
Jasmine has had a sheltered life and is still a virgin. She’s also strong and resilient for a twenty year old. She fights to get her happy ending.
This is my favorite book in this series, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jasmine and Rei’s story is about love overcoming all the challenges. From the start, their connection feels strong, even though Jasmine is engaged to someone else. Rei’s determination to protect her, and Jasmine’s inner strength make their relationship special and inspiring.

The author gave us action, suspense, and romance in a way that keeps you interested the whole time. The mix of twists and heartfelt moments leads to an unforgettable ending. This isn’t just a romance – it’s a thrilling and emotional story. A great read for anyone who loves a mix of action and love.

(Mafia romance, love triangle vibes, touch her and die, Romeo and Juliet vibes, arranged marriage)

This was an interesting and thrilling mafia romance!

You get pulled in and then submerged into a mafia world. You get all the details/inner workings of the mafia while experiencing the turmoil of an arranged marriage, what is expected of a female in a mafia family AND some delicious steamy tension. This is a slow burn that will keep you on the edge of your seat until pay out. When it pays out...daaaaang!!! Hot!!

Ms. Romig truly is, a master story-teller!

This series has been exciting.
Emotional.
Steamy.

The world-building has been awesome.
I always feel like a part of it!

Knowing the characters from one story to the next.

Despite the read being standalone, you'll want to read each story! They're all so good!

Rei is, OMG, so hot!
And Jasmine, rule follower, may just give Dario, her guardian, a run for his money!

I had my fingers crossed for Rei and Jasmine! Well, my toes too!

The delivery of this story was horrible!!!
zero connection, zero chemistry , i felt nothing for them, it was all over the place TBH and it didn't feel like their connection was genuine mostly on her side... her kissing both guys ..etc... ugh i don't know, i just couldn't connect. I though there will be a good push and pull, more fighting something!! but nah, nothing such . PASS

Despite being advertised as a standalone, it was not and that made the book very superficial and confusing. The prologue even had a recap of the previous books, though that did not help. I don't think any of the characters were well-developed. I'd believe that they were in other books, but it fell flat as a standalone. The book was also kind of a nothing plot? There was a whole cartel/mafia/bratva war yet, most of the book was about Jasmine making bad decisions and generally acting like a child. I'm not even sure why Jasmine and Rei were into each other but it was the most insta-love I've ever read. Plus the dirty talk was weird. I did finish it though (I can thank being stuck on a plane for that), so 2 stars.

Jasmine and Rei’s story was another great addition to this series. With the alliance between the cartel and famiglia solidified by other marriages the capo has other plans for Jasmine. Trying to make other deals, the capo promises her to another. Rei won’t stand idly by and let that happen. Risking his own safety, he proves his worth and wins the fight for her.
