“Even better than Jenny Colgan – AND set in Paris!” - Five Star Review.
Romance writer Heather Montgomery has made a career out of crafting happily-ever-afters, but her own love life is anything but storybook-perfect. Newly heartbroken and struggling with writer’s block, Heather escapes to Paris for the holidays, staying in her French editor Celeste’s charming Montmartre apartment.
Enter Pascal, a handsome yet guarded waiter. With no interest in romance, Pascal becomes Heather’s unlikely guide to the City of Light, gifting her a beautifully illustrated book of Parisian landmarks and bringing the city to life in ways she never imagined. But when he introduces her to a mysterious abandoned house tied to his shadowy past, Heather finds herself drawn not only to its untold story but to Pascal himself.
As Heather’s inspiration sparks, she uncovers secrets that threaten to unravel their fragile connection. When Celeste’s home is burgled and whispers about Pascal’s troubled history begin to swirl, Heather must Can she trust the man who’s shown her how to love again, or will his past destroy her future?
Filled with holiday magic, Parisian charm, and the redemptive power of love, Winter In Paris is the ultimate escape for fans of Jill Mansell, Jenny Colgan, and Sarah Morgan.
A sweet story with Paris as the backdrop. I would likely have given five stars, however lack of / poor editing proof-reading skills meant that typos and strange French language words and translations from English (blue lingerie instead of Boulangerie and other strange words) became somewhat of an irritation.
I really did not like this book at all I am afraid. It raced through the story and just did not grip me in the slightest. I couldn’t warm to any of the characters, not that the book gave you chance too though. Nice setting but that’s about all that interested me. I never give up on a book but found myself wishing the time away to get to the end.
