3.5🌟 This was such an addictive story and definitely one you can lose yourself in! Urban Dark Romantasy with a hellseeker FMC who hunts demons for a living and the Elite Demon MMC who is obsessed with her. This book was filled with mystery, dangerous secrets and a healthy dose of tension! The dialogue was a bit cringy at times and I say this all the time but I really don’t like real world pop-culture references in my fantasy books 🙈 but I can absolutely why everyone is loving this so much! And what an incredible ending!! 🌟

This story follows Kaiden and Iris who we meet in the prequel! Iris is a demon hunter and Kaiden is a demon…do I need to say more!

I feel like I've read a ton of stories very similar to this. The whole 'demon hunter with a demon being the love interest' type story is pretty common, but this was among the better versions. It's a really fun read.

After reading fated hearts I knew I would love this book! I especially loved the references to fated hearts throughout and now I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!
Romantasy at its finest!! Kaiden is my new book boyfriend and the cliffhanger got me desperate for more and I was lucky enough to get this as an ARC so I have even longer to wait!!
Check your trigger warnings which is provided at the beginning of the book along with a playlist which is an awesome addition to the book! Also the physical book has the most amazing art work and the flop is Devine!! (If you know you know)

I was thrown off the biggest cliff with how this book ended!! I devoured this book, after pausing mid read to read the prequel! Im glad i did because i picked up all the references from fated hearts in this one and loved it!!
The written is very descriptive and throws you into the world building and the depth of the characters is astounding! The slow burn & banter between Ava and Kaiden is chefs kiss🤌🏼 Not a huge fan of noah i think hes hiding lots of secrets!
If you love demons, vampires, shifters & just all around supernatural beings this book is for you!!

I was so excited to read this after falling in love with the prequel "Fated Hearts" earlier this year. I was NOT disappointed at all. I am every bit, if not more, in love with this story.
I really enjoyed how characters from the prequel were brought into this book, especially Tony. I loved Tony so much in Fated Hearts I loved how he still played a role in this book. We also got an update on Logan & Ava which made me squeal.
The tension between Iris & Kaiden had me foaming at the mouth. I love how possessive Kaiden is with Iris & I adore how unbreakable Iris is.
This book was phenomenal which makes this series a top contender in my books. A perfect 5 star read! Can't wait for the second book!

Lucia you gave done it again. I absolutely devoured this book. After reading Lucia’s first book fated hearts I fell in love with her writing and this world. I knew I’d love a wicked dance of obsidian and light and it didn’t disappoint. Even giving subtle hints to the characters in fated hearts is an organic way.
Iris is a badass, stubborn fmc who is part of the order which helps patrol earth ridding it of demons who shouldn’t be here. Kaiden is the overprotective and possessive morally grey mmc who is head of the conclave - a group of dark creatures allowed on earth due to the treaty between archangels and lucifer. Kaiden is my new book boyfriend
This story has got it all, twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and a huge cliffhanger at the end which has left me desperate for the next book.

I binged this book in under 24 hours—A Wicked Dance of Obsidian and Light by Lucia Skye was so freaking good!
Iris is a demon hunter for the Order, tasked with keeping unauthorized demons out of the human realm. The tension?! Are you kidding me?! Perfection!!! A baddie FMC? Yes please!!! A tall dark and broody MMC? ABSOLUTELY! The plot was fantastic and I am DYING to find out what happens next!!! I 10/10 recommend getting this book ASAP!

I LOVED this!! I couldn’t stop thinking about this book when I wasn’t able to read it, because, life! But this was so fun, and almost nostalgic in a way! It took me back to books I loved reading when Vampire Academy and all of the books like that were super popular. Yes, it’s insta-lusty, but that’s not always a bad thing, and I actually really enjoyed it! This was a contemporary, fantasy/paranormal romance, and it was very fast paced, and 10000% kept my attention through the entire thing. Iris is a total bad-a** and I loved her so much! Does she make rash decisions and decisions that I didn’t always agree with, absolutely, but she’s 23 freaking years old. And even when she did make a decision that I didn’t quite agree with, once she calmed down, she was able to handle the situation a little better. She’s sassy and hotheaded, and I actually really enjoyed that about her! Iris’s imperfections are actually such a huge breath of fresh air. We all have moments, we all can react instead of thinking clearly in a heated moment, and I really liked seeing her as a real person, and not a perfect person, if that makes sense. Also, she’s a girl after my own heart with how much loves food, I absolutely loved the realness of that. Kaiden was so head over heels for Iris and I loved it. Their chemistry was off the freaking charts. That ending had my heart POUNDING!! I’m so looking forward to book 2 to see where this story goes!

I could not put it down. I really enjoyed getting to know Iris and Kaiden. The back story that is give to you helps to understand about Iris’s past. Their relationship is very well played. Not just a 1st chapter they are in love. No it shows how they grown into what they are. This book will for sure want you to want more. I am so excited for the second book to come out. I need to know what happens next.

Paranormal romance with demons 😈, ghosts👻, hellseekers, shapeshifters 🐺, vampires 🧛🏻♀️ and some spicy scenes! FMC is tough and the MMC is hot - what more can you ask for? It is set in modern day and has a more casual writing style with text messages conversations at certain points and modern slang. The spicy scenes 🥵 use great language and not the weird descriptions that some books make us cringe by at times. Highly recommend!

I really, really wanted to get into this book because of how highly rated it is, but the writing falls short and the characters/systems lack development. The entire book reads exactly like the its description but cheesier… for 370 pages. Iris felt juvenile for 23 years old and never showed any character development.
As a fantasy book, I was hoping to get more out of the Conclave or the Order, but they are hardly referenced. The romance aspect of the book drives the plot, and the Order/paranormal aspects are just along for the ride.
If you are looking for a romance with some spice that focuses on the main characters interactions with her love interests, this is the book for you. If you are looking for any type of political intrigue, dynamic systems, fun interactions with friends/found family, you unfortunately may be left wanting.

A Wicked Dance of Obsidian and Light needs to be your next obsession, it certainly is mine!! I have been left speechless and staring at the wall after reading this book. There are so many twists and turns, I never saw anything coming. Lucia kept me guessing and suspecting every character at some point, and the slow burn between Iris and Kaiden from the very beginning of this book was excruciatingly delicious!!
Lucia has done an amazing job of creating such a unique and wonderful story in a genre that has saturated the market lately. The characters are well thought out and even though they are fantasy, they still come across as totally believable.
Iris is a badass, a strong independent woman who is stubborn to a fault and doesn't listen when any man, including her love interest, tells her what to do.
Kaiden is a possessive, touch her and die, morally grey character that everyone will definitely fall in love with!
I also love the call back to characters from the prequel "Fates Hearts". I got so excited reading their names and it was done in such a subtle way that was organic to the story without it feeling like it was forced in.
The book does end on a cliffhanger, and Lucia is an evil genius in doing so!

After the amazingness of Fated Hearts I did not think it could get better, I have never been so glad to be wrong.
Iris is FMC GOALS! Demon huntress supreme and Kaiden well he’s the supremely hawt demon MMC who saves her. Uh huh you can see where this is going right ENEMIES TO LOVERS & forbidden romance with stupendous slow burn that will have you practically salivating.
Fantastic side characters too one in particular which that brings sass, humor and magic to balance out the equation.
This of course was another 5 ⭐️ read and a whopping 4🌶️ bring me book 2 right meow I am ready !

This was so good! The entire book kept my attention and I could not put it down….Kaiden is such a great morally grey character and one of my top book boyfriends, Iris and her sass, and that cliffhanger! I loved everything about it and cannot wait for the next book!

I can NOT stop thinking about this book! I stayed up late to read it and could not put it down. I truly will be thinking and obsessing over this series until I get my hands on the next one.
We follow Iris, our badass FMC, through her job as a demon hunter and see how fierce and independent she is. Through her story we find out she is also dealing with amnesia from a traumatic event of her past.
Kaiden, our demon MMC, saves the day (more than once) and becomes her possessive protector. He is mysterious and charismatic and a 6’4” tattooed demon?? Are we kidding?? One of my favorite tropes is “who did this to you” and let me tell you, Lucia did not disappoint!!
These two meet and Iris is constantly battling with her loyalty to her job and her intense feelings for Kaiden. The yearning had me giggling and kicking my feet. The tension is palpable throughout the book and Lucia did an amazing job of not rushing things with our main characters.
The way Lucia had me laughing out loud at some of the content in this book kept me hooked through the entirety (especially the Twilight reference!✨)!! This story does end on a cliff hanger and I cannot tell you how badly I wish I could jump into the next book!! I can’t wait!! There is many unanswered questions that I am dying to find out about!

This is the first book in the Echoes of Darkness Series that is a paranormal fantasy romance. Iris, the FMC, is a hellseeker, in other words a demon hunter, and then one night weird things start happening, she’s on the brink of death and then she meets him, Kaiden Black, the MMC. She learns everything is not as it seems.
I’m going to be honest and say the first 6 chapters were very unenjoyable for me. It’s like I was thrown right into the middle of the book, and I had no idea what was happening or why it was starting out like that. There was no explanation if demons and demon hunters were the norm in their society or if there was an event that caused it to be that way. It seemed to be hasty and was confusing.
However, I am glad I stayed with it because the pace started to slow down, and the story started to develop. I thoroughly enjoyed the last half of the book and was pleasantly surprised where the story went. I loved the tie in of some of the characters from the prequel Fated Hearts, and I’m so glad I read that one first because it made this one that much better. Normal night on the job right? …Plot twist!
The sky tears open and Iris is attacked by demons she’s never encountered before. Facing the reality that she is about to die by the hand of a demon, something happens, someone steps in…and that is where the story truly begins!
This book had me hooked! From beginning to the end, I was completely engulfed in Iris’s world.
There seems to be a love story unfolding, the kind that gives you butterflies, that you constantly want more and more of. What will come of it? I’m not sure yet. There is a mystery that Iris herself is trying to solve. What is the truth about her mother‘s passing? The truth about herself? Will her memories keep returning to her in her dreams until the truth reveals itself? Is that even what is happening?? Just when I think I am onto something, I am never quite sure of myself! To say that I devoured this book would be an understatement! I cannot wait for book number two to be released because judging by the ending of this book, the next one is going to be even better, if that is even possible! Why did this book even have to end?! I truly enjoyed it!

This book had me hooked! From beginning to the end, I was completely engulfed in Iris’s world.
There seems to be a love story unfolding, the kind that gives you butterflies, that you constantly want more and more of. What will come of it? I’m not sure yet. There is a mystery that Iris herself is trying to solve. What is the truth about her mother‘s passing? The truth about herself? Will her memories keep returning to her in her dreams until the truth reveals itself? Is that even what is happening?? Just when I think I am onto something, I am never quite sure of myself! To say that I devoured this book would be an understatement! I cannot wait for book number two to be released because judging by the ending of this book, the next one is going to be even better, if that is even possible! Why did this book even have to end?! I truly enjoyed it!

urban fantasy style setting with a massive amount of plot and within the first couple of chapters I was hooked and it stayed like that untill the end.
the story follows iris, a demon hunter who lost her memories in a car crash as a teenager. taken in by the order and trained to be a badasss. whilst fighting unknown demons and nearly loosing she is saved by a brooding, dark, 6ft 4 tattooed Elite demon and wakes up days later in his apartment with a warning of danger coming her way. iris gets the feeling she has seen him before but how and where?
the one liners and banter/electricity between these two is bingeworthy and im obsessed with them both.
I was so pulled in to this world and I cant wait for book 2 as there is so much more to come from the story.

Oh wow, this book was so good once I started I couldn’t stop. First off the supernatural vibes were spot on I loved it! From demon hunters, to the mention of archangels, to a very hot demon. Oof I loved it all, and our baddie FMC, but also don’t forget her best friend I loved our sassy light witch. The book had all the vibes. And the spice immaculate, chefs kiss. Now that ending though that one hurt but I’m so glad she saved herself because that was rough. The way it ended ugh leaves me wanting more, I need book two, I need to see what happens because whew this one had me on the edges of my seat. If you like the show supernatural and a 6’4 hot demon you’re going to want to add this to your TBR and trust me you are not going to be disappointed. ❤️🔥😍

AWDoOaL was a WILD RIDE! Iris is a badass FMC who is a hellseeker that kills demons on her nightshifts and devours ice cream and pasta during the day lol! I loved Iris and I can't wait to see what the second book brings because that CLIFFHANGER. WRECKED!
Now...Kaiden... *toucher her and die* *M.I.N.E* *GOOD GIIIIIRL* Kaiden is one hot Elite Demon but Iris thinks she knows him from somewhere. I have so many theories of this gorgeous man and Iris. And honestly, Noah can back up because there's a new man, a whole man, in town!

The FMC Iris has had a tough past and seems to find herself in some trouble throughout this book! The MMC Kaiden seems to come to her rescue whenever needed! I love how protective Kaiden is of Iris. I would love a dual POV for the next book so we knew what was going on in Kaidens head!
That cliffhanger at the end😳 So many questions! What really happened to Iris’s mother? What is Iris? Can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book!
