It’s time to reunite with his princess. But first, he must find her.
Through strength, guile, and diplomacy, Trent Marston has secured a magical fortress and paved the way to return his exiled princess to her throne. Now, alongside his loyal huntress, bubbly mageblade, and a beautiful hex mage, he must journey to the distant Cridor Republic and find Princess Victoria.
Before he can bring Victoria home, however, Trent must thwart a devious insurgent plot against the ancient Primal Academy. If he fails, his nation could be catapulted into war with its neighbors. And when a flirty, charming, and experienced life mage joins his party, his distractions on his journey only grow.
Yet no matter the distractions, Trent will support, protect, and cherish his growing tribe.
While I have liked this series, it's getting a bit hum-drum for me.
The MC spends too much time looking at women's attributes, and I'm not talking about their stats. The newest woman he meets has breasts bigger than his head, and he struggles to have a coherent conversation when she's around, despite having two lovers already. It makes him sound like a high-school boy, instead of a man that has seen battles and has multiple lovers.
The MC finally reunites with his princess, and finds a missing sister to his blade. His pact-wife that he can't get busy with is showing interest, but physically can't do anything more than kiss him without dying. But you can clearly see that she will join the harem fully when she can, and the princess and second sister will. The third sister will obviously join, as well.
I always find it a little bit of a letdown when just about every women the MC meets ends up in the harem.
I will most likely read book 4, but I will probably let it sit for a bit until I've read stuff that I'm more interested in.
If you’re ready to read book 3, hopefully you have already finished books 1 & 2. If you haven’t, go back and start from the beginning. If you’re happy with what took place in the first two volumes, you will love volume 3. Some new characters are introduced and the main characters are pressing on with searching for the missing princess. Great fun and adventure. Be aware, there is a book 4 planned.
An epic adventure, filled with interesting characters and a world that contains both depth and complexity. The mysteries yet to be resolved keep me wanting to know more.
I'm glad we finally have the Princess back, and I'm interested to see how she acts with our MC. The next book is going to be even better, I'm sure of it and I can't wait!
