Harper Wylde is a bestselling paranormal romance and urban fantasy author who lives in the countryside of Pennsylvania. As a wife and mother of three young children, she spends her days chasing after little ones and making notes all around her house about magical worlds, strong heroines, and the men who would do anything to protect them. When she’s not writing, she can often be found curled up with a good book, binge watching reruns of The Vampire Diaries, or gaming with her boys.
its so terribly predictable. every event/plotpoint that happened was known a long time ahead and as a reader the characters just felt like they became dummer and dummer for not realizing what was right in front of them the whole time...
So, I could see the writing on the wall early on, but I was hoping that Snap would become a part of their pack like he should have been all along. He should have been one of them from the beginning with their history, beta or not.
Unfortunately, I knew what was going to happen in this book before the first book in the duet was even finished.
I guessed at the beginning of book one that , even though I hoped I was wrong. By the end of book one, I was 99.99% sure who the traitor was. That certainty was cemented in the very first chapter of this book. It was so obvious—it couldn’t have been more plain to see if it had been written in giant flashing neon lights.
And yet we had to wait until the absolute very end for the main characters to figure it out! Meanwhile, the traitor was wreaking havoc on their lives. I ended up skimming heavily because I was too pissed off at how blind the characters were.
Now I’m still fuming. All these other reviewers are acting like had a redemption arc. He didn't.
At that point, I couldn’t even focus on the romance or anything else because I was too aggravated by this obvious, “hidden” threat—the traitor who acted like a friend. It was so glaringly predictable that it completely ruined any enjoyment I might have had with the rest of the story.
This is the conclusion of the second duet in the Runaway Omega series on focuses on Kitania and the Cristenellos pack. Each duet in this series features a different FMC and ultimately has a HEA.
Tropes and themes include: ✨Omegaverse ✨Why choose (MFMMM) ✨Mafia/billionaire ✨Praise ✨Prior abuse ✨Scent matches ✨Hurt/comfort ✨Touch her and die
The Lovely: While the first book made me fall in love with the pack this one made me fall in love with the FMC. I loved seeing her come into her town and taking action to stand up for herself and her pack in deliberate ways. And, I loved seeing her pack support her in this, despite also wanting to protect her at the same time.
The Mundane: I’ve come to know this author for how she writes the emotions of her characters and it felt like this book didn’t pack the same emotional punch as the prior three books in the series. I would have liked to have seen more of their emotional connections forming and more non-spicy interactions, such as dates and working through the events of book one.
Recommendation: After the cliff of an ending that was book one, I’ve been waiting with no small amount of anticipation for this book. And wow the ending was a tension filled ride. After the epilogue I can’t wait to continue this series. If you like dark omegaverse with hurt/comfort and a pack that dotes on their Omega, I think you would like this duet.
I'm not doing this justice considering I should have reread the first one again but...
I was expecting a bit more with the other bad alphas that Kit was getting away from. I just feel like the first book was focused on keeping her safe and taking those guys down but this one was more focused on renovations and Dimitri taking over for the head of the business..
I'm glad Enzo got his redemption even tho at some point I thought they'd bring him into their pack. And I'm glad the doggo was okay.
Maybe I really should've reread the first one because I didn't feel as connected with this book :/ Honestly more excited for Julia's story ..
I had been eagerly anticipating this book after the cliffhanger at the end of the previous book and it certainly didn’t disappoint me. The story had me on the edge of my seat with twists and turns that I didn’t see coming until they were right in front of me. I loved the characters, the guys were super protective but I really loved seeing Kit coming into her own after everything she’d been through. And the epilogue has me looking forward to the next book releasing already. Roll on the next few months.
Continuation of book one Kat and her men have to battle the enemy lurking, their own trauma and healing, bonding and her first heat, claiming, betrayal, loss and utter happiness. No cheating Spice 3/5 a lot more romance, bonding than kinky wild sex (boo) but they do have it separately and claim her together. Everything is wrapped up Each of them gets an epilogue so you not only get their thoughts it progresses their story further into an HEA. Definitely I recommend
Knot Made To Break, Part Two, book 4 of the Runaway Omega series, by Harper Wylde @harperwylde is a newer author for me. Please read the content warning!
What a great conclusion about Kitania, Dimitri, Marco, Giovanni & Tommas! Tropes: Omegaverse, Contemporary, Reverse Harem, Brothers, Trafficked/Abused Omega, Mafia, Kidnapped/Rescued, Found Family & HEA!
A well written ending to this duet. I love this authors writing and how well we know all of the characters in the pack with different personalities. Mafia vibes and strong morally dark me who will do anything for their girl. Ending was fine just nothing big caught my eye or interest. I really enjoyed the first book in this duet so I would recommend both.
Harper Wylde does wonderful things to her characters. High and lows and you wish that these were real people. I would recommend this book and all the books in this series to everyone who loves happy endings and wishes coming true
Amazing Loved the series. Loved the characters. Loved the spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Growls, protective, obsessive, gooey alpha men Strong women who over came so much Love me a happily ever after
I absolutely loved this duet. I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with these alphas. I loved how they worshipped their omega. I have fallen into the omega universe and I'm absolutely loving it.
This book is ‘Sweet as Sin’!!! Katania grows so much and it’s a phenomenal journey through violence and fear and hope and love. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for her every step of the way. Her four Alphas are so lucky they found the perfect match!!
Loved this book and duet so much. It was action-packed and filled with plenty of twists throughout. With the ending I can't wait for the next duet in this universe.
Now this was a duet full of surprises, even when you think you know what’s happening it throws you. To start from a dark side to end in a bright and happy ending.
This part 2 of Kit's story it truly lovely. I love her story and how Harper was able to give us a glimpse of the epilog from each main characters prospective.
