This dramatic tale of bravery is twined with humorous characters and terrifying creatures. Escape to a reality teeming with action and magic. Each chapter is more exciting than the next and will make you eager for more.
The author gifted me a copy based on our mutual love of the topic and I am shocked how much knowledge they have on it! They even add the Viking days of the week in the back and has an appendix so you can learn about certain words and phrases you may not understand. Their attention to detail about the characters really paint a vivid picture and help the characters really come to life. If I could rate it 6 stars I would! Put your horns up 🤙🏻
The character development stands out as one as one of its strongest features. Rather than relying on flat or predictable personalities, the author crafts characters with depth, nuance, and clear motivation. Their growth feels organic keeping the reader curious and eager to turn the page.
A hilarious page-turner that's impossible not to like. That rare fantasy novel that treats Norsemen not with adoration or condemnation, but fairly. Some are good. Some are great. Some are really, really bad lol. I really loved the magic in the book; everything is handled with charm and humor, but the magic is interesting and original. You will feel as loyal to the characters as they are to one another. And the meandering path quality works in its favor - it's unpredictable up until the last sentence, while also being cohesive in its tone and motivations. Would definitely pick up a sequel.
I love finding new Indie Authors and enjoying their books, this one was very entertaining and I love how much Humor Adrian puts in his story but he also adds in emotional dark scenes that have you wondering if brighter times is beyond reach, enjoying the characters as time goes on you enjoy their company as much as Halfdan does.
I really loved this one I highly recommend!
Halfdan's life has never been easy but after his good friend's murder is on his shoulders, he'll do anything to keep his loved ones alive and safe. When Liv his travel companion awakes from Halfdan's own powers, they set off with 4 others to take back the lost and tormented souls that Blackhare has taken as her own but first they have important jobs along the way that will question their sanity but keep them together through the toughest nights, being able to help each other will get them a long way together, a group that needs each other even through the curtain of darkness.
I purchased this book directly from the author at an event, and honestly, this usually isn’t the kind of book I would pick up for myself. That said, I ended up really enjoying it. The story moved at a good pace, wasn’t long or drawn out, and made for a quick, enjoyable read. It may have even convinced me to read more fantasy books in the future.
One of the most emotional parts for me was realizing that Halfdan was traveling with his biological daughter the entire time without her knowing, while he was also trying to repair their relationship. That added a really touching layer to the story and made the ending feel even more meaningful.

The narrative pacing was somewhat rapid for my taste. I generally appreciate richer descriptive detail to fully immerse myself in the setting. Additional depth in this area would have enhanced an already strong story.
Meaningful message behind the book 🐉 Regardless of what has happened in one's past, it is always possible to grow and choose to be a good person in the present.
