Publisher New York Times bestselling series and Instant USA TODAY Bestseller The viral TikTok stalker dark romance, burning with high heat, hilarious banter, and a love story like you've never seen before. Can you handle the ride? I want someone with a soul as black as night. Someone who would burn the world down for me and not lose a single minute of sleep over it. Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn't need any more kinks. She likes the one she's landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality. I want things most people don't, craving darkness and depravity instead of light and love. Josh Hammond has spent his life avoiding the limelight, but his online persona is another story. At night, he posts masked thirst traps for his millions of fans to drool over, but one follower has caught his Aly. After reading a comment begging him to break into her house wearing a mask, he decides to take her up on her offer. Together, Aly and Josh live out their darkest fantasies, unaware that Aly has captured the attention of someone else. Someone with far more sinister intentions than a little light stalking. As Josh turns from predator to protector and the stakes heighten, he must ask himself how far he's willing to go for the woman he's obsessed with. Book Two in the New York Times and instant USA TODAY bestselling trilogy! From the viral TikTok author of the stalker romcom, Lights Out, comes Navessa Allen's second book in bestselling The Into Darkness Trilogy, upping the ante with voyeurism and play club kink. "I wanted this woman, and I was a man who always got what he wanted." Nico "Junior" Trocci knows Lauren Marchetti is off limits. She is sweetness and laughter, whereas Junior exists in a world of violence and depravity. Men like him don't get to have women like her. It's why he pushed her away back in high school and kept his distance ever since. But when Junior looks Lauren up online, he discovers the shy, bookish girl he remembers is gone. In her place is a strikingly beautiful woman whose social media is filled with scantily clad pictures of herself and a connection to a nearby play club. Junior's innocent curiosity quickly turns into a dark obsession. Watching Lauren from a distance isn't enough; he needs to make her his. "He's ruthless; a walking red flag. Good thing red is my favorite color." Lauren is intrigued by the mystery man who keeps showing up at her club, who tempts her white-hot desires. But as their flirty online messages stir up a deeper form of connection, Lauren worries she's developing real feelings for this brooding stranger. As their combined desire ratchets up to a breaking point, who will seduce who?
Contributor Navessa New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Navessa Allen lives in northern New England on a 200-year-old farm with her husband, their cats, and an assortment of farm animals.
ok soooo. i reread this after some distance from my initial read, mostly because i’d just come off the emotional rollercoaster of Butcher & Blackbird the first time, and i wanted to give Lights Out a fairer shot. and honestly? it was better with space. the voice felt more grounded, and josh grew on me a bit more. i get the appeal now… sort of.
BUT there’s no denying it still gives ✨fanfic in a trench coat✨ in the way that everyone is weirdly poetic all the time, the angst is at an 11 even when it doesn’t need to be, and the vibes are serving more moodboard than plot. i felt like i was being emotionally manipulated but in a soft focus kind of way. also… aly’s trauma deserved a little more care?? idk.
is it romantic? sure. is it dramatic? absolutely. but do i believe these two needed therapy more than they needed each other? unfortunately yes.
basically: it’s not a bad book, it’s just one of those reads where you either fully sink into the aesthetic and feel it, or you’re sitting there like “why is everyone crying in metaphors again??”
read it if you’re in the mood for angsty, moon-soaked longing with a side of unresolved childhood pain. skip it if you want grounded pacing, healthy-ish relationships, or literally any adult who knows what they’re doing.

I want to rate the first one alone but I can't find the listing so here goes... This book is pure corn, in the best way if that's what you're looking for. I found myself really impressed by all the different ways they did it. I was disappointed that she figured out who he was so soon, it knocked a star off for me because that terror she wanted to feel wasn't there by knowing the "secret" identity and it felt like cheating.
Lights Out is the best blend of spicy and humor, it ties perfectly into the second book Caught Up. Caught Up doesn't have as much humor as Lights Out but in my personal opinion is way Spicer. I read both books in less than a week because I couldn't put them down. The bonus chapters are absolutely worth holding out for the special editions! I can't wait for the final book in this trilogy!
Lights out was a 5 ( it was a tad dark, with humor, interesting plot, interesting characters) Caught up was a 3.5 ( feels like more of a bridge for the third book, not as much plot and mostly smut which for my taste was too much but that’s a personal thing. Didn’t enjoy characters or lack of true story as much )
I’m kinda against the porn culture but I’m not like hating I still respect the people in it if there not problematic love both the books lights out is my fav tho
I was sucked into these from the very beginning. First dark romance novels I've read and already ordered the third. It was just on the edge of wild and I couldn't put it down!
When I finished lights out. I instantly purchased the pre order for caught up.
Love interconnecting story’s. Makes the banter with each book pop. And for me, banter is super important. When characters from other books turn up it makes it even better. Because you know them and you’re familiar with them.
One thing I’m sure of is I trust Navessa’s writing. And I trust that book 3 will also blow us away. I cannot bloody wait.
And oh my fire the audio for both books INCREDIBLE So book three I am so down for.
Will be in my top fav series for a very long time!!
10/10 would recommend 💜📚✨🎧 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Navessa Allen for writing such a thing! Thank you Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan for bring Josh and Aly to life for me! #audiobook #lightsout #navessaallen #smuttok #booktok
