This series is just so much fun for mini and I. We noticed a few Easter egg nods to both The Wizard of Oz and Wicked (or at least what we thought were Easter eggs) Dynamics and friendships have shifted in this third book as the Nettle students are tested beyond their imaginations, and not just for their midwinter exams...looking forward to the next book coming in July!

Best book in the series so far

Great book for middle-grade readers and Oz lovers!

This is the 3rd in a series, but it's the best so far. The first two books was mostly about a handful of kids saving their school on their own. But this one includes the rest of their school, using teamwork and their own strengths and weaknesses.

I continue to enjoy this series by Will Taylor with its twists and turns and magic and humor. And—for those who want to think more deeply as they read—there are subtle insights to be gained about qualities such as empathy (while never feeling preachy). I'm looking forward to book #4! :)

This was another fun one. I missed Henry and Crow most of the book, but Tinabell and Ava were still fun. I got a little confused, but I'll still read more of their adventures.

As the series goes on it seems to be really stretching for content and character development. This one explores the relationship between two competing friends, which feels like good content for kids.
