One Winter Night #3

A Sleet Storm's Seduction

Rate this book
A Sleet Storms Seduction reimagines the story of Christmas, in this cozy romantasy standalone, set in a magical winter wonderland, filled with swoon-worthy romance.

Evette’s fragile heart has always been her weakness, forcing her into a dangerous alliance with a gang of smugglers who supply her with the expensive medicine that keeps her alive. When they assign her to investigate the disappearance of a supplier in the northern mountains, she has no choice but to comply.

But fate has other plans. Dropped in an unfamiliar forest instead of her intended destination, Evette’s luck turns from bad to worse when she’s caught in a sudden sleet storm and attacked by a beast.

When she awakens, it’s not in the jaws of death but within the grand halls of a spiraling castle.

Her rescuer is Klaus, a rugged woodsman with pointed ears and an otherworldly presence that both captivates and unnerves Evette. Yet just as she begins to let her guard down, Klaus reveals a disturbing truth: the medicine she’s relied on for so long is slowly poisoning her.

Klaus offers her a choice, work for him and he’ll not only ensure her safe return home but also protect her from the smugglers’ inevitable wrath.

Desperate, Evette agrees, plunging deeper into the mysteries of the village, magical elixirs and Klaus himself. As the lines between ally and enemy blur, Evette’s fragile heart may lead her into the greatest danger of all—falling for the one man who could shatter her world.

This was solid. The pacing felt a little off and rushed. I wanted more from the fantasy elements. The fantasy conflict resolved too easily. I wanted skeletor and heman to have their final battle!

The romance was ok and the focus. For me, there were missed opportunities to flesh the story out more.

This is the 3rd book in the series. I have not read book 1 or 2. My curiously is peeked - so maybe?

This was a cute and cozy read. I do wish there was more to the fantasy elements and was quite unclear what the MMC‘s actual powers were.

Pacing was a little offbeat and lots of grammatical mistakes

This story was a fresh, unique take. I read it in only a few hours and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have not read the others in the series, but that didn’t matter. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting but I was not disappointed.
