A Long Cold Fall
Cooper learns of the suicide of a former lover, Vivian Horstmann. Shocked, he goes to the funeral and learns that she had a son, who is now a runaway. Doing the math, Cooper realizes that the boy might be his son. He tracks him down and the boy convinces him that his mother was murdered. The cops don’t believe it, so it’s up to Cooper to find the killer.
