This was such a fun ending to the series, and I loved that this story was from Ravi's POV!

Characters:
Ravi is such a relatable character for anyone who's ever felt like they didn't quite fit... that somehow they were unworthy of the family they have...his story is a journey, and it is beautiful!
Georgia and Vincent were in this one a lot... especially Vincent and I loved that! They are such great characters, and I loved seeing them continue to grow!
Lili is adorbs!
I love Ms. Arte! She's so sweet!
Mr. Leo is the best!
And all the new characters....aha! loved them! Especially Selma and Horace.🩵

Themes:
We don't have to run away from the things that scare us... instead, we can run to Jesus!

Romance:
An implied crush.

Language:
N/A

Magic:
Characters travel through paintings...viewed as a gift, not magic.

Violence/Gore:
Some injuries... nothing major. Some scary situations but nothing overtly terrifying just moments that make you hope the characters can escape.

Overall:
I loved the story, and it was a great conclusion to the series! The thing knocking off half a star is that I wanted more at the ending...
I wanted more character interactions and more page time for a certain character whom I was so intrigued about. But overall, it was a great ending to the series!

It's over?! *sighs and stares at wall*

Language: N/A. Mentions that bad guys cursed but not what they said.
Violence: Some fighting, minor bruises and scrapes. Vague mentions of blood, nothing detailed. On page character deaths, barely described.
Magic: They travel through paintings but its something they are naturally born to do and is described as 'A Gift' God gave them.

That didn’t go quite as I expected...wow! Can I just say how much I love Ravi? I mean I even loved him in the first two but now I love him even more! He's such a cinnamon roll and his emotions and arch are on point! I enjoyed his story so much!💖 Vincent and Georgia are also great, even tho Georgia is a little fiery judgemental thing I still love her! (One for the homeschoolers!😜) Lilly is adorable and her and Ravi's relationship was the cutest!💖
Also, enjoyed all the new characters, Horace was funny and Selma was so sweet! Augusta was great too and so protective of her siblings!💖
And is it wrong to say I kind of like Dorian? I mean more of a love to hate him situation but he has such class😂 Conquering the wolrd in style...lol...
This was a great finally! Tho I would have liked a short epilogue or something, the ending was fine but I felt like certain characters needed more page time to actually make me...care? Still good overall tho!💖🫶
Definitely give this series a read if you haven't yet!💖👌

We received an advanced copy of this book, and my daughters and I enjoyed it immensely. We agreed that it was our favorite of the trilogy. It was fun to see how the characters developed and grew into their Gifts, and Ravi’s journey was full of challenges and redemption. What a great story! Thank you for the advanced copy.

A Five-Star Adventure for Middle Grade Readers!

“Maybe he didn’t have to look beyond the far horizon for a home, because he’d found it.”

✨ About the Book:
This is the third and final installment in The Restorationist series, told from Ravi’s perspective. After finally breaking free from a life of captivity and crime, Ravi is uncertain whether he can trust his new Restorationist family. While a daring plan to infiltrate the sinister Distortionist group unfolds, he devises his own escape plan, still unsure if he has truly been accepted or if he would be better off on his own.

✨ My Thoughts:
This was a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the series! I loved experiencing the story from Ravi’s point of view and watching his transformation from a former foe, into a loved member of the Restorationists’ family. I appreciated how his pain and trauma were addressed with such care and a sense of hope. Young readers will easily connect with Ravi’s desire to belong.

Beyond the Far Horizon will take you on an immersive adventure through the world of art, while also exploring the value of our God-given gifts and the beauty of forgiveness and acceptance.

I received a complimentary review copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a satisfying ending to a beloved trilogy! Your heart goes out to Ravi, and his story was the perfect one to end with. Carolyn again has written a book that transported our family and made artist study come to LIFE.

The world of the Restorationists continues to expand in this fast-paced and satisfying conclusion to Carolyn Leiloglou's middle grade trilogy. The MC in this book, Ravi, has finally escaped from the conniving Adelaide, who kidnapped him as a young child and taught him to steal and distort paintings using secret methods that harm the minds and emotions of viewers. With the help of his new Restorationist friends--each talented with a unique Gift--Ravi hopes to bring down Adelaide's erstwhile fiance, Dorian, who is gathering a global network of Distortionists to steal and skew famous masterpieces at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When Ravi learns that his mother and sister are still alive and serving as Dorian's prisoners, he's even more desperate to succeed. But Ravi is used to looking out for himself. The Restorationists are kind, but can he trust them with his life and future--and the lives of his family?

I loved the addition of new characters in this book--three Restorationist siblings living in hiding--and the development of Ravi's personality. Each of the books in this trilogy is told from a different character's POV, and it was fun to see events unfold from Ravi's perspective. As with Books 1 and 2, BEYOND THE FAR HORIZON introduces middle grade readers to famous artworks in a way that's organic and intrinsic to the action. It's like an art history treasure hunt--and I loved that works by two of my favorite artists, Frederic Edwin Church and Henry Ossawa Tanner, played key roles in the plot. My only wish was that the final chapter could have lasted a bit longer--I wanted to linger a bit more with these characters I've come to love as they reunite, celebrate, and reflect on their adventures. But of course, that only points to how much I enjoyed this series!

It's beautiful how each book in this trilogy homes in on a different aspect of "restoration." Of course, the protagonists are literally saving and restoring stolen artworks, but there are other, deeper forms of restoration occurring as well, both within the MCs and in their relationships with family, friends, and even former enemies. This series is full of fun and action, but it's also rich with healing and grace. I heartily recommend it!

Thanks to Netgalley for my review copy.

This is the final book in "The Restorationists" series by Carolyn Leiloglou. In this book Ravi is the main character, and we follow his story. Ravi is now living with the Restorationists who have rescued him from Lady Adelaide. She just happens to be the twin of Vincents mother Arte. The are planning to work to trap the Distortionists.

For their plan to work Ravi, Vincent, Georgia and Vincents mother Arte must work together to convince the leader of the Distortionists that Arte is actually Adelaide. They are hoping to rescue Georgia parents as well as stop the Distortionists and restore order. Ravi is still unsure what to think he has spent most of his life trapped into a life he didn't want. Now he has people who care for him but he's not sure he fits in. He is looking for an escape plan in case he needs to get away.

While meeting with the Distortionists he learns some things that confuse him and makes him question his own plans.

I enjoyed this book and how the series ends. As the book progresses, I found I was reading faster and wanting to know what would happen next. It is a fitting end to the series with information on art sprinkled in. This is a series I can see middle school children enjoying and probably even early teens. It has those fantasy elements that add to the story. If your children like the Narnia books I am sure they would enjoy these books.

This highly anticipated conclusion to The Restorationists series did not disappoint! Of the three books, I think this was our favorite. The whole family loved it from beginning to end. Featuring a well-rounded and diverse cast of characters, the story centers on Ravi, who has only recently escaped from his life in bondage to Adelaide and is not yet sure who he can trust, or where he belongs. In the end, his story is a moving portrayal of loyalty, courage, and redemption.

I received a complimentary ARC of this book, but all of the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

** “So the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to find the one missing. Then when he arrives home, he invites everyone to celebrate with him. That one lost sheep was as valuable to him as all the other sheep that hadn’t wandered away.” **

Carolyn Leiloglou’s “Beyond the Far Horizon” picks up immediately after “Between Flowers and Bones,” the second novel in her Restorationists series.

Cousins Georgia, a Navigator, and Vincent, an Artist, come from a family made up a long line of Travelers (as explained in the first novel: “Traveling is stepping into a painting. Getting to walk around in the mind of an artist”). Their jobs are trying to maintain the safety and purity of art from the Distortionists, who try to steal and destroy art.

They have now set their sights on rescuing Georgia’s parents from the Distortionists, as well as the mother of Ravi, a Tracker that they rescued from the evil group. They are forced to use deception to break into the ranks of the nefarious group, but know it will be worth it to save their loved ones.

Will they be able to safely accomplish their goal? And will Ravi learn to trust others and himself to do what is right?

Once again Leiloglou develops a fun and suspenseful plot filled with action and intensity. She brings back fun and quirky characters who have real worries and concerns, yet are brave and dig deep for the strength they need, as well as introduces us to some great new characters. She also fills “Beyond the Far Horizon” with several great themes, like forgiveness; trusting others and being worthy of trust; finding the lost; you don’t have to look “beyond the far horizon” to find home; and it’s not the gift you have, but what you do with it.

Vivienne To once again adds illustrations to the story, which I would not recommend reading as a standalone.

Fans of books like “The International House of Dereliction” by Jacqueline Davies, James Patterson’s “Minerva Keen’s Detective Club,” and even Kiersten White’s Sinister Summer series
will love “Beyond the Far Horizon,” which is due out Sept. 9.

Five stars out of five.

The Restorationists has quickly become one of my favorite middle grade series of all time, and the final installment, Beyond the Far Horizon, was the perfect send off. I had a hard time wanting to put it down, and found myself wanting to go back and reread the entire trilogy once I finished it.

Ravi takes the lead in this one, and it brought a different dynamic to the story as he wrestles with learning to trust his new friends when he's never truly been able to trust anyone before. As he and his new friends work to infiltrate the Distortionists, and help to take them down once and for all, they'll find themselves pulled into a web of deception that goes much deeper than any of them could have expected. Can Ravi trust his new friends enough to succeed at his most important mission yet?

A fun series about art, family, friends and all the wonderful middle grade hijinks I've come to expect from this author, this book was a lovely treat, and I ended up loving it just a much as I did the first two titles in the series. I've come to appreciate the way that Carolyn Leiloglou is able to effortlessly weave the salvation message into her stories, and it was beautifully illustrated throughout this story as Ravi comes to hear about Jesus for the first time.

I found the ending to be a bit bittersweet, but still wonderful and I love that she gave all these characters the send off they deserve.

I know this is supposed to be the final title, but I'd love for her to revisit these characters in the future, and I'll be holding on to hope that readers will receive more stories in the Restorationist world in the future.

Final Rating: 5/5.

Definitely one of my favorite reads of the year, and one I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys middle grade adventure stories.

Thanks so much to Waterbrook for allowing me to advance read and review this title!

Ravi may have chosen to side with the Restorationists, but that doesn't mean he trusts them. All his life, he's been used and had to look out for himself. So though he's agreed to help Vincent, Georgia, and Ms. Arte take down the Distortionists, he has a secret escape plan in case things go bad. But the longer he works with them, the more he realizes that he might not want to be on his own anymore.

I am so sad to think about this being the last book in this wonderful, inventive world in which people can enter paintings and travel between them, interacting with the painted people, creatures, and other aspects within, and making changes that aren't visible but affect the painting's viewer, for good or for ill. Though I'm not much of an art lover, the author is clearly passionate about paintings, and I really enjoy the inclusion of different paintings and especially the various components within the paintings.

Each of these books spotlights a different teenager with the ability to Travel through paintings, and each one deals with some sort of baggage throughout the story. Vincent's resulted in a moment that I will never forget. Georgia's kind of paled in comparison. I felt this book brought back a lot of the sympathy and enjoyment I felt in the first book. I felt for Ravi so much, I just wanted to hug him through most of the story.

The plot is exciting, and the ending is a satisfying conclusion to the 3-book arc. I didn't like this book quite as much as the first, but it was still a 5-star read I recommend this book (and series—and really, you should start at the beginning if you're interested) to anyone, young or old, interested in fantasy fiction with a Christian worldview.

Thank you to Netgalley and WaterBrook & Multnomah for providing me a copy of this book to review.

“Beyond the Far Horizon” is the thrilling story of a boy who is struggling to find his place in the restorationist world. In this heartwarming tale of good triumphing over evil, we meet Ravi, the slightly distrustful boy who struggles to accept who he really is and whether or not the Restorationists will really accept him. Carolyn Leiloglou expertly weaves together a story of family, acceptance, and love in the third book of the Restorationist series.

Each book in the series is told from a different point of view, making it fun and intriguing as we see not only what the characters think of themselves, but how others see them. This particular approach makes it easier to understand who exactly the characters are and their different personalities. “Beyond the Far Horizon” is the third book in Carolyn’s series. In the second book, “Between Flowers and Bones” we see Leo telling Ravi who he is, that he’s not only a Restorationist, but that he’s Leo’s godson, leading him to understand who Adelaide really is to him. “Beyond the Far Horizon” picks up where “Between Flowers and Bones” left off and tells the story of Ravi and his friends infiltrating the Distortionists, foiling their big heist, getting help from unexpected places, and getting the people who matter most to them back. Join Ravi as he discovers the true meaning behind the story of the good shepherd going after that one lost sheep.

Such a great follow up for the restorationist series; sorry to see that that is the end!
Ravi has joined the "good guys" to become a restorationist, and they are working undercover to bring down the nefarious distortionists. But after years of his talents being exploited, he is wary of trusting others. As an orphan, he is also struggling to make connections with his new friends and his recently discovered Godfather. As they infiltrate deeper into the organization, Ravi makes some startling discoveries about his past that make him question everything even more. Will he overcome these challenges or decide he is better off striking out on his own?! I love the sense of adventure and the whimsical nature of being able to travel through artwork that is seen throughout the whole series.
Could be read as a stand-alone, but the book is best read as part of the series, as it really continues on with previous plot lines. Great option for "clean" middle grade fiction. Excellent moral themes of trust, friendship, using your talents for good, and how family can mean many things. Gentle references of faith/religion. Love the historical art references. Would be a great family read-aloud or book club/art class base.
I received a complimentary advance reader copy of this book, however, opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was a delightful conclusion to the (hopefully not just a) trilogy. The perspective character (and subsequent character arc) belong to Ravi this time. And while I must say I don't think I enjoyed seeing the world from his perspective quite as much as from Georgia's perspective in book 2 (Ravi can be a little bit emo, although I certainly understand why), I really appreciate just how well the author continues to weave tight and satisfying character growth arcs with a new perspective character in each of these stories, while connecting the character's arc with both the art and the "Gospel hook" (which is beautifully handled without feeling overly preachy).

Like the previous two books in the series, this book has plenty of action, plenty of fun characters (some new ones, too!) and clear, lifelike dialog. It also left me wanting to learn more about the art pieces depicted within the story. There were some excellent twists, and a satisfying conclusion (although I do think the final climax may have felt a little abrupt and rushed, and I can ALWAYS use more denouement).

All in all, this book continues to carry the torch lit by the first two novels. It is just as fun, well-written, and family friendly, with no dip in quality or plot. If you enjoyed the first two, you will definitely love this one!

I really wanted to love this series but I found the premise so heavy for a kid's series that it was hard to enjoy. I appreciate the author's love of art and the hope to share that with young readers and it really showed throughout the whole series. I really love that each book in the series was told from a different character's perspective as it helped you understand each of them better. I enjoyed the detail and effort the author put into describing the art as well as the museums they were housed in as well. What was hard was the background premise that is hard to get past. Having a whole group of people killed is pretty hard to overcome and is something that comes up over and over throughout the book series. This one being from Ravi's perspective was very difficult as well as he not only was an orphan from that event but also had been taken and held by The Lady for most of his young life only to be "rescued" by the Restorationists who quickly asked him to put his life in danger to save the day. I know it's common in kid's books for young children to have the weight of the world on their shoulders but to ask a kid that has been through what this kid has been through to do anything other than rest in a safe place would be absolutely insane of any adult to ask. As a parent, I had a hard time not feeling that and it made it hard to see anything past it which is unfortunate. Definite highlights and plusses to the book but this part was a hard negative for me to overcome.

I received a digital reader copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

This final book in The Restorationist Trilogy is a wonderful wrap-up to the adventures of Vincent, Georgia, Ravi, and all their friends and family. Just like the first two books, the story pulled me in right away and kept me turning the pages. I especially loved getting to see things from Ravi’s point of view this time—it added so much heart to the story.

One of my favorite things about Carolyn Leiloglou’s writing is how she naturally weaves in biblical stories and values. It’s great to have a fun, exciting book to recommend to young readers that also connects to faith without feeling too heavy or preachy. Stories like this are perfect for Christian kids who want something adventurous while still providing meaningful faith values. They’re also a great way to introduce faith to kids who might be asking big questions—just like Ravi does throughout the story.

Overall, it’s a fantastic book and a really satisfying ending to the trilogy. I definitely recommend it!

This is SUCH a fun series. Exploring art, creativity, family, belonging and adventure, this is one of those books that you don't want to put down, but you also don't want to finish and come to the end of the series.

(Beyond the Far Horizon is book three and you do need to start at the beginning of this series, so if you haven't read it yet then go and pick up Beneath the Swirling Sky.)

I was happy to get to dive deeper in Ravi's character and story. The complexity of who he was, how he was raised and what was on offer to him gave the story a deep poignancy, while still being a fun adventure. There was some unexpected redemption and you got to witness a number of the characters grow and take risks for the sake of love and justice. It was a heartwarming conclusion and I heartily recommend the whole series.

I was given a free digital copy for review and am eagerly awaiting the release of the printed copy as this is a book I'm buying for myself.

Both my 11yo son and I read and enjoyed this book. We did read the other two in the series first. It was so neat to get Ravi's POV in this third and final book. I loved all the twists and turns and Ravi's grappling with belonging. Doing hard things, even when you're sure you will lose, just because they are the right things to do, made for such a great theme. I am thrilled my son got to learn more about art, go on an adventure, and learn about these important truths. I would recommend this book and series to anyone with children, or even for adults. It was a fun read.

Here is what my son had to say (I am pasting his exact wording in here, but I would never let him spend $100 on a single book 😂. And yes, he means 10 stars out of 5. He explained to me it was too good to be five out of five stars.):

Really good. 10 stars of 5. I would pay $100 for it. Kinda bittersweet at first but all sweet in the end. At least In my opinion. Like I said 10 stars of 5.

Beyond the Far Horizon is a poignant and satisfying conclusion to the Restorationist trilogy. The story follows the character of Ravi as he navigates the confusion and distrust of figuring out life as a new member of the restorationist team—a team he formerly called his enemies, with whom he must now work to take on the ever-strengthening distortionist empire. Like the previous installments of the series, this book does an excellent job interweaving thrilling adventure and chilling villains with heart-warming themes of family friendship, forgiveness, trust, and redemption, while simultaneously piquing interest in the art that serves as a backdrop for the story. The final book expands the world of the story to include vivid new places and characters and deepens the experiences explored as the characters and readers grow up.

I highly recommend to anyone looking for rich middle grade fantasy, though the first two books provide the much needed foundation for this book!

A remarkable blend of spy games, high stakes, and fantastically powered action scenes mixed together perfectly into a deeply satisfying finale, strong in character, and a case study in masterclass storytelling. Author Carolyn Leiloglou’s concept of kids gifted with the ability to teleport into paintings and interact with the worlds within is unparalleled, and now serves as the stage for some of literature’s finest chase scenes, weaved in and out of the paintings. The momentum of cat and mouse never stops, even in the book’s softer, more quiet moments. The weight of each decision, each interaction is felt on every page, layered with extraordinary moments about forgiving ourselves, serving one another, and trusting the unexpected good in each of us, despite what our past has to say. A groundbreaking achievement from beginning to end.

What a beautiful conclusion to The Restorationists trilogy!

Ravi's perspective was especially poignant, as he felt so alone and without a real family, even as The Restorationists try to make him feel welcome. I love how the nuances of the paintings minister to his heart just as much as the story of those who are welcoming him into their family.

This series is a must-read for middle-grade readers and adults alike! I learned so much about art, yes, but like good art, the beautiful truths of the story are what will remain long after the facts are forgotten.

If you're an adult who loved this series, be sure to check out The English Masterpiece by Katherine Reay, too.

This installment was a fitting wrap up to this wonderful trilogy. I loved learning more about Ravi and how he became involved with “the Lady.” I also appreciated that there were more international characters in this book.
The characters throughout this series show growth and maturity as they learn more about themselves and the truth about what happened to their families. It is a great series for middle grade readers due not only to the action and unusual settings, but also because it reinforces good choices and character traits. It also gets kids interested in different artists and famous works of art. This is one book (and series) that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone with middle grade readers.

There are only two books that have ever made me cry: Bridge to Terabithia and Beyond the Far Horizon. Ravi's quest for family and struggle between right and wrong provides the final arc of character devlopment for him and the rest of the trio, addressing struggles many kids face. Like book two, this book also ages with the reader and brings slightly older character struggles and growth than the book before it. Even more new characters join the cast of the Restorationists in this book (the diversity is excellent), and the stakes are higher than ever. The ending made me cry (so watch out) and the story before it was deeply meaningful and well executed. Beyond the Far Horizon brings a thrilling and poignant end to the Restorationists series, and it is not to be missed.

This has quickly become my favorite middle grades series and I loved this book from Ravi's point of view. While Ravi has escaped from Adelaide's grasp, he doesn't feel like he truly belongs and makes sure to always have an escape plan. Meanwhile two of their own have been captured and the Restorationists must try to infiltrate the enemy. Will the Restorationists be able to defeat the Distortionists and save the art world? I highly recommend this book series for everyone! As a plus, it really introduces the reader to great works of art and encourages the reader to do their own research about art.

This was such a beautiful and imaginative series! I loved all three books! It's obvious how much care, time, and consideration went into every aspect of each book, from the characters and their abilities to the art included and from the beautiful illustrations to the fun interior formatting of the paperbacks which mirrors when the characters enter paintings or corridors. The whole series is whimsical, fun, and wholesome while still carrying loads of actions and moving at a perfect pace for the storyline.
I would highly recommend this series and I'm very excited to gift my niece with copies of the book for her to enjoy.

Loved the conclusion of this trilogy! As with the previous books, the concept is clever and captivating and we learn more about the extent and limitations of the Restorationists gifts into the last book.
Beyond the Far Horizon featured more international cultures (handled respectfully) including characters from India and Kenya. It, of course, featured beautiful and interesting art work which I am eager to research for myself.
Depending of the sensitivity of a middle grade readers, parts of the book may feel dark, deaths of characters, family betrayal, danger from gangs, etc.
Overall, it was a very satisfying conclusion to the series!

This third book in the Restorationists series is another fabulous story by Carolyn Leiloglou! This time Ravi is the central character, as he learns to fit into his new family and has to choose sides between right or wrong. You won't want to miss the exciting new art adventure "Beyond the Far Horizon!"

My kids (and myself!) have really enjoyed these books. I am not an art enthusiast and I don't know much about paintings and fine arts, but the way Carolyn weaves them into these stories, with the fantastical element of traveling THROUGH the paintings to other art museums around the world is amazing!

I'm so sad to see this series end, but it finished on a high note! I've enjoyed every book in this series, but Ravi's story was my favorite. The author was able to touch on some hard subjects and handled them well. The beginning was little slow, but by about 30% it really picked up. I really enjoy the fact that all the paintings used in the books are shared at the end. This made it very easy to google them and their locations! This was a quick and enjoyable read and I learned a lot as well.

I received this E-Arc free from WaterBrook & Multnomah Publishing and Netgalley for my honest review.

We received an ARC copy of this book. My son’s review: I think this was the best book of the trilogy and Ravi’s story was my favorite. I liked how there was sacrifice and redemption played out. I had a great time reading it. It makes me wish art traveling were real.

We’re so sad to see this trilogy end. These have been such great books full of adventure, working through hard feelings and topics, and gotten our kids into art. Highly recommend!
